COVID Strikes Several Noted Vaccinated and Boosted Politicos, Media Personalities
Sen. Cory Booker, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, CNBC’s host Jim Cramer will now enjoy the benefits of naturally obtained immunity.
As a reminder, last year at this time Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said that with the vaccines, we would “turn this thing around.”
“I would say 50% would have to get vaccinated before you start to see an impact,” Fauci said. “But I would say 75 to 85% would have to get vaccinated if you want to have that blanket of herd immunity.”
Fauci said if all goes according to plan, by the end of March or beginning of April more vaccines will be available to the general public.
The vaccine is not working as promised. To begin with, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), both double vaccinated and boosted, have become infected with COVID.
Warren, 72, was the first to announce her diagnosis and said her infection was mild and that she had both vaccine doses as well as her booster shot.
‘I regularly test for COVID & while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive with a breakthrough case,’ the progressive Democrat wrote.
‘Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms & am grateful for the protection provided against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated & boosted.’
Warren is the ninety-second member of Congress to test positive for coronavirus since the pandemic began, making Booker the ninety-third. Their cases have been mild, but they have COVID and belong to the “surge” projected not to happen.
Furthermore, a noted media member has also contracted COVID despite being a devoted vaccine believer.
CNBC’s Jim Cramer said Monday he’s tested positive for Covid and isolating at home with a mild case.
“I have Covid. I came down with Covid on Thursday night,” Cramer said on “Squawk on the Street.” He added he’s been triple vaccinated: two shots of Moderna and a Moderna booster.
“I know exactly how I got it,” he said. “I was at an event where you had to have PCR [tests].”
“I got it that night from someone who was tested that day,” he said. “The problem is it works so fast. You can’t stop it.
As a reminder, Cramer vented at Americans who have refused to get vaccinated and demanded the White House consider creating a universal vaccine mandate for all people in the United States that the military would run.
“So it’s time to admit that we have to go to war against COVID,” Cramer said on his long-running business program “Mad Money” on Monday. “Require vaccination universally. Have the military run it. If you don’t want to get vaccinated, you better be ready to prove your conscientious objector status in court.”
Meanwhile, vaccinated cruise ship passengers were reported to have tested for the COVID after docking in port.
Forty-four passengers onboard Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas cruise tested positive for COVID-19 after the ship docked in Miami on Saturday.
The cruise line also announced that one of the passengers onboard a prior cruise itinerary had tested positive for the Omicron variant.
‘We were notified by the CDC that a guest onboard our (December) 4th cruise tested positive and it was identified as omicron,’ a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean told USA TODAY on Saturday. ‘They asked us to notify guests on the sailing, the one that ended today, and the current one.’
Meanwhile, a British study reports that the most common symptoms of infection for the new Omicron variant are:
- runny nose
- headache
- fatigue (either mild or severe)
- sneezing
- sore throat
As I projected previously, COVID is on a trajectory to join the family of common cold viruses.
I sure hope Booker, Warren, Cramer, 44 passengers, and everyone else infected recovers quickly from what appears to be nasty colds and enjoy their newfound natural immunity…which will likely be more robust than provided by these vaccines.

That’s because the only thing these vaccines are good at is causing major health issues. They sure don’t prevent infection or transmission.

How many vaxxed public figures will have to get infected before they admit the vax has failed? Or will they stay in permanent denial.
None. Because no “public figure” has been vaccinated. Joe and the rest are simply given jabs of normal saline solution. Nothing more. It’s all just political bread & circuses theater to convince the

If we reformulate your question to ‘how many high profile vaxxed being infected before normal citizens notice and change their mind on the need for a mandate’ it probably has not impact. Assuming 80% vax rate I would bet that between 1/4 and 1/3 of those folks either bent to financial pressure and/or believed the vax would prevent infection and transmission.
Recall the disdain for Sun belt and Southern States this summer as the seasonal variability impacted case counts; we were cast as ignorant rubes who chose to become infected by rejecting the vax. Meanwhile the virtuous vaxed in Northern blue States patted themselves on the back for their supposedly superior judgement. Then the seasonal variation hit those areas right on schedule.
Suddenly they are directly and personally impacted despite their masks and vax status. Their virtue signaling and ‘superior’ knowledge and judgement withers in the face of facts. The Covid is now endemic and it’s past time to shift policy to effectively protect and treat the small number of truly vulnerable while the rest of the Nation gets back to work and on with our lives.
Words matter. We need to ca;ll these cases what a non-politicized pharma industry would call them. They aren’t “break-throughs”. They are “vaccine failures”. The public would have a much clearer picture of what is happening with the vaccines if the reporting was more honest. It is a characteristic of progressive minds to believe doing more of what doesn’t work will fix things. They excel at sunk cost fallacy. “This time communism will work.” “The vaccines would better if more people would take the jab.” They’ve invested so much in believing the vaccines will end the pandemic, they can’t see a way to cut their losses.
100% correct. But calling them “break-through” cases makes them sound special and rare, and allows the infected person to virtue signal and feel special, too. It also lets them get over the virus without having to acknowledge that the vaccine doesn’t work the way they said it would.

Cramer’s understanding of things medical and an individual’s freedoms in a democratic republic, such as the United States, are only slightly better than his understanding of the stock market.
The real messaging problem is how they report Covid deaths. If Warren, after having a stuffy nose and cough dies within the next 30 days or so from a brain aneurism. she will be listed as s Covid death. In Michigan, with so many positive tests showing up, Covid “30-day look back” deaths account for 50% to 70% of all reported deaths. If you consider that easily half of the remaining deaths had nothing to do with testing positive for Covid, there are very few people actually dying from Covid.
Look for a change in the definition of a Covid death soon. Comrade Governor Whitmer’s political future may depend on it.
Gee, with those symptoms, “omicron” sounds EXACTLY like a regular garden variety cold. If you didn’t get tested, you’d never know it wasn’t “just” a cold.
And if you were not planning on traveling, via air specifically, you would probably not get tested. The forced testing of travelers is probably a significant contributor to the “surge”. We stay-at-home folk just put up with the sniffles and mild sore throat, and/or feeling crummy, for a few days (called “trying to get a cold” in some circles) and keep going.

Why is this a shock to anyone? The jabbed carry a viral load 251 times that of the rest of us.
I like how the leftists have changed the narrative to them only having mild symptoms and giving credit to the vaccine. But, how is that different from before the vaccines?! Most people had no or mild symptoms prior to vaccines!
