Wisconsin National Guard Authorized For Kenosha In Anticipation of Rittenhouse Verdict

Wisconsin National Guard Authorized For Kenosha In Anticipation of Rittenhouse Verdict

It’s probably a smart move to help maintain law and order, but make no mistake that this mobilization and the threat of more rioting and looting will be hanging over the jury.

Here we go again.

The mobs will be howling outside and around the courthouse in Kenosha in anticipation of a verdict in the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict, which goes to the jury Monday. Mind you, not just any verdict will result in rioting, only a Not Guilty verdict.

The Wisconsins Governor has authorized 500 National Guard troops for Kenosha:

Approximately 500 Wisconsin Army National Guard troops are reporting for State Active Duty as authorized by Gov. Tony Evers to support local partners in ensuring public safety in conjunction with hundreds of officers from volunteering law enforcement agencies. This, as the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse is in its final stages.

“We continue to be in close contact with our partners at the local level to ensure the state provides support and resources to help keep the Kenosha community and greater area safe,” said Gov. Evers. “The Kenosha community has been strong, resilient, and has come together through incredibly difficult times these past two years, and that healing is still ongoing. I urge folks who are otherwise not from the area to please respect the community by reconsidering any plans to travel there and encourage those who might choose to assemble and exercise their First Amendment rights to do so safely and peacefully.”

“We stand ready to support our communities during times of need,” said Maj. Gen. Paul Knapp, Wisconsin’s adjutant general. “In close coordination with the governor, we have assembled approximately 500 Soldiers to help keep the Kenosha community safe, should a request from our local partners come in.”

It’s probably a smart move to help maintain law and order, but make no mistake that this mobilization and the threat of more rioting and looting will be hanging over the jury.

We know how the media will cover it from the last time:

There was no NG presence during the riots correct?

Too bad the governor couldn’t have been bothered to do this prior to letting the city burn for 3 days

This is an obvious attempt to tamper with the jury.
The Governor makes a big deal out of this calling up of the National Guard now but he could not be bothered when his henchmen of Burn Loot Murder turned Kenosha into a war zone?
This is clearly meant to intimidate the jury and to help the persecutors #DisbarBinger and his sidekick #DisbarKrause.

I think this is just a common sense measure.

Either way, there’s going to be trouble.

      WasTaiwanese=NowFullAmerican in reply to aramissebastian. | November 12, 2021 at 5:14 pm

Yes, it is a common sense measure. It’s also an outright admission that not all cultures are equal.

Call it the soft bigotry of low expectations. Use any other excuse or non-truthful words to express what we all know.

Charles Murray’s Facing Reality (2021) says in black-n-white what we all know,

“Two known facts, long since documented beyond reasonable doubt, need to be brought into the open and incorporated into the way we think about public policy: American whites, blacks, Hispanics, and Asians have different violent crime rates and different means and distributions of cognitive ability. The allegations of racism in policing, college admissions, segregation in housing, and hiring and promotions in the workplace ignore the ways in which the problems that prompt the allegations of systemic racism are driven by these two realities.”

Charles Murray’s opinions are somewhat controversial.

Because the left claims something is “controversial” does not make it untruthful. The left’s motivation is to spoil all counter arguments which resist what they are trying to foist onto America.

Murray backs up all his assertions with primary sources.

Even Jessie Jackson knows the truth,

“There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then (I) look around and see someone white and feel relieved.”

          So too Chris Rock,

“If a friend calls you on the telephone and says they’re lost on Martin Luther King Boulevard and they want to know what they should do, the best response is ‘Run!’”

henrybowman in reply to aramissebastian. | November 12, 2021 at 6:34 pm

Such claims are how the left “debunks” facts that offend them without requiring the intellectual rigor necessary to… y’know, actually debunk them.

felixrigidus in reply to aramissebastian. | November 13, 2021 at 5:42 am

It would be but for the fact that the govenor clearly lacks common sense (else he would have used the NG when it was needed during the Burn Loot Murder riots that led to this point). Since this particular governor does not act out of common sense with regards to this matter, my point stands.

I have to agree. This stunt by Evers reminds me of the military troops deployed in Washington DC and fences around the Capitol that were put in place to protect the corrupt Uniparty from a non-existent “insurrection”.

If Evers is so worried about Antifa/BLM brownshirts rioting, why did his political party openly encourage it and financially support it last year?

That is the main reason why the judge should dismiss the case with prejudice. That would be the end of it. Why risk getting a guilty verdict merely because the jury is terrified of doing otherwise? We cannot live like this. If there are riots, that’s not on the jury or the judge but on the mayor and governor and all of the evil ignorant celebs who can’t keep their mouths shut. Let’s make this riot the one where the mayor issuers a “disperse or you will be shot on sight” order. Let New York City and Chicago burn down. Who cares.

I would think the judge doesn’t want to be the target of riots, either. Which he certainly would be should he issue a directed verdict

We should not tolerate cowardly judges any more than crooked ones. Do the right thing and trust the police to protect you. If we refuse to hold even a judge accountable for fear of violence, we are truly lost. We send young boys to their deaths overseas and no one blinks. We need courageous people here at home too and I don’t mean just the Kyle Rittenhouses.

“….trust the police to protect you.”

Never trust the police to protect you, provide your own protection.

I agree. The peasantry is not considered worthy, but a judge, hizzoner, may the court please, judge may I have another, are royalty, and I VERY much doubt a mayor would issue stand-down orders to his order-followers when it came to protecting a judge.

freespeechfanatic | November 12, 2021 at 4:33 pm

There is no other option but a guilty verdict. It’s been preordained.

I suspect if they do, they will have created their own nemesis. I don’t see any way he’s likely to just sit around feeling sorry for himself, and he will have a lot of time on his hands.

My hope is that is not true, but I understand what you mean.

I think though that any parent on the jury will be very apprehensive to come down on KR based on what was shown on the interview type video that they have.
Not one shed of evidence that he was out there to play Rambo, so he comes off as just a kid, and a scared kid when he realizes he is on his own against the mob.

The best Bingo and Fatlock came up with to show KR and co. being aggressive was the bearded guy screaming “Fuck around and find out.” Even they couldn’t use that because as soon as he did that others pulled him back and deescalated it.

Really useless use of city resources and tax payer money to prosecute a kid for not letting himself be murdered by a 1 child molester, 1 domestic abuser and 1 Marxist Revolutionary.

      TargaGTS in reply to Layman101. | November 12, 2021 at 6:35 pm

My hope is that you’re right and contrarians and skeptics like myself are wrong. However, I think many people don’t fully understand both the intimidation factor that has been in play in these kinds of cases for the last year AND the strong possibility that some (perhaps several or even many) of those jurors are made up of the same kinds of crazed leftists that inhabit Twitter and watch MSNBC.

We’re very much bifurcated today as we were during the OJ Simpson trial. And as it was during that trial when it was difficult to find many people who thought he was innocent, the jurors might mostly or completely think differently. And, that cognitive disconnect might be driven by some of the same cultural issues that were in play during the OJ trial which is why they’re potentially so difficult to fully understand or even recognize.

I’m hoping that there are more people on that trial like the real estate agent who testified about the video he took; people who were and continue to be disgusted how the city burned while police and fire just stood around and watched. That’s Kyle’s best hope for justice.

There was a very significant intimidation effort in LA during the Rodney King trials too. Yet the jury did its duty. That was a media-incited riot. Local television here was doing live remotes goading the crowds to start rioting. We got through it and we will get through this one too if they are willing to shoot the looters and rioters like they did here.

      forksdad in reply to Layman101. | November 12, 2021 at 7:23 pm

That’s what worries me. What parent wants to have to move and pull their kids out public school forever? What parent wants to never let their child play outside ever? Who is going to light the match?

gibbie in reply to forksdad. | November 12, 2021 at 7:52 pm

Um. I rather hope that lots of parents want to pull their kids out of the government schools forever. Why wouldn’t they?

Any guilty verdict will be ‘under duress’.

I agree. A verdict of “Not Guilty” means the jurors will have their lives ruined. All the jurors’ personal information including names, addresses and phone numbers will be released within 48 hours of the “wrong” verdict.

Ironically, even acquittal on all counts will not free Rittenhouse. The Feds will swoop in with a list of equally bogus “civil rights” charges if the jury frees him.

Undoubtedly, there are Feds who *want* to sweep down with civil rights charges if Kyle is declared Not Guilty, but I doubt even the politicized Civil Rights division of the DOJ is abjectly stupid enough to do it. As the case is currently crumbling faster than dry cookies, they would wind up holding a very embarrassing bag in a few weeks.

I hope Kyle is exonerated, given back his AR-15, and he turns to the Court TV camera and states: “I got this.”

“And now, where will you be going from here?”
“Not f**g Disneyland — tell you that right now!”

The police will never give back that gun. And in the doubtful case they do, Kyle would be a fool to keep it intact. The anti-gun nuts are positively frothing at the mouth, and if the gun gets returned, it will pour gas on their bonfires (and fund-raising). Sell all the parts back to a gun store, keep the lower (the only ‘real’ part of the gun) in a household safe, and ignore any plaintive pleas from pro-gun groups to auction it off or other nut-attracting actions.

This is what happens when you let MOB rule make the legal calls.

Trials under these conditions are not trials. They are ritual sacrifices.

Had the government of Wisconsin at the state and local level done their jobs of protecting citizens, property, businesses and keeping control of areas of concern, the destruction, riots, and killing would have been minimized or eliminated and we would not have this court action today. Those idiots (Governor, mayor, city police chief need to be removed for not doing their jobs!

I am less worried about the potential for riots in case of not guilty verdict

A) the deceased assilants are all white
B) the jury is mostly white (at least from what I heard).
C) Kenosha is approx 79% white, and there really has been much racial issues brought up in the trial – granted the riots were precipitated by the shooting of a black violent criminal

    Layman101 in reply to Joe-dallas. | November 12, 2021 at 4:59 pm

I would add that the bigger issue will be the out of state actors inbound from Seattle, Portland, Chicago etc.

      gonzotx in reply to Layman101. | November 12, 2021 at 5:28 pm

      Absolutely

Not that I’m suggesting this, but if any of the Kenosha police were to happen to run the plates of any out-of-state parked cars in the downtown area and just happen to find they belong to somebody with a long history of arrests, and they just happen to have those cars towed to the impound lot for being illegally parked, and just happen to run a drug-sniffing dog by them and they just happen to alert on the car and of course it would need to be searched for drugs and since the police are stretched thin it would need to remain in the impound lot for a few days to maybe a week while officers become available to do said search, which should be extensive and look for secret compartments…

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to georgfelis. | November 12, 2021 at 10:49 pm

County judge, county-wide jury pool. Kenosha County is 5% black.

This plus Bannon indicted. War. Bannon is a POW and if they terrify the jury enough so will Kyle. They will join the other democrat political POW’s. In my old age I could never have imagined this happening in America but there it is. Reminds me of an old music album…Who’s Next? Too much pressure on a jury to render a fair verdict and on the judge to render a fair trial.

Wait a minute here, is the Gov endorsing the idea of sending armed Citizens onto the streets to deter and/or mitigate the severity of a potential mob riot? /S

In all seriousness, had the Gov made the decision to deploy the NG (Citizen Soldiers) to Kenosha way back when then perhaps there wouldn’t have been a KR trial because KR wouldn’t have felt the need to show up in place of the absent adults.

Had the governor done his job, Kyle would be living a normal life, Huber could be playing on his skateboard, Rosenbaum could still be raping little boys and Grosskreutz could be Toobin his tube with his usual hand

Mistrial

Jury intimidation practically guarantees a conviction. What juror would want to let their house burn down?

Rittenhouse would have been better off with a bench trial. The judge has some REAL common sense and sees through the prosecution. If anyone would have had the courage to acquit in a bench trial, it would be him. If the motion for mistrial with prejudice has not been ruled on, then he may yet grant it, if gobsmacked by a jury finding a guilty verdict on any of the major charges.

    henrybowman in reply to foospro86. | November 12, 2021 at 5:36 pm

It wasn’t on the table. The prosecution must agree to it, and they would never.

    Elzorro in reply to foospro86. | November 12, 2021 at 6:01 pm

There should be 2 motions for mistrial. One with prejudice and the other w/o prejudice for the events outside the courtroom that might impede the ability of the jury to come to a fair verdict and unfairly influence the jury.
The Governor calling up the National Guard out of fear of rioting if they vote not guilty can not and must not be ignored.
Stop this insanity right now. A fair trial is impossible under these conditions. The jury would be blamed for returning a NG.

Presumably, the correct opposing gambit would be for a right-wing organization to issue a public statement congratulating the Governor on his foresight, and informing him the Guard will definitely be needed if any verdict other than complete exoneration is issued.

We are living in the Thomas Paine moment right now, and some people still don’t see it.

Elzorro in reply to henrybowman. | November 12, 2021 at 7:02 pm

If this continues I will not be ashamed of my country but Disgusted with it. Our criminal justice system is unable to function in the leftist lawfare attack it is under by embedded oversocialized democrats of which Binger & Co. are part of. Paine was referring to England and its King. For his legacy to be apropo our sitrep is dire and the issue in doubt. I really never thought it could happen here but it appears it is. I am just at a loss and unable to do anything but watch it happen. I repeat I do not think our CJS is capable of dealing with this. Dysfunctional.

Under the current political leadership in Wisconsin and Kenosha itself, all the National Guard will be allowed to do is insure the safety of rioters, looters, and arsonists from people trying to defend themselves, their families, their homes, and businesses.

TargaGTS in reply to exordis. | November 12, 2021 at 6:24 pm

National Guard will likely be empowered – commanded – to shoot on sight any business owner defending their property.

(that’s so close to reality, I’m not even sure if I mean it sarcastically)

Protestors protest.

Looters loot.

Shoot looters. It’s the only way to deal with them.

Minor correction: We protect protesters. We arrest looters and violent rioters. We hold them in jail until they can post a large bond. We prosecute them. We fine them. We put them in prison. We make it *known* that violent rioters will get this process. We follow *through* with the process. That way the violent rioters and arsonists with two brain cells to rub together say to themselves, “It ain’t worth it.” They go home, whining on Twitter how evil white supremacists have taken over the world and are oppressing them.

They don’t realize that same judicial process keeps them from being shot by another citizen protecting their life. And they never will understand.

MajorWood in reply to georgfelis. | November 13, 2021 at 11:34 am

Back when this all began in Portland I informed a number of lily white BLM supporters that it was the police who were keeping them alive. Once the police were gone, their half-life would be measured in minutes. Most just yelled at me, but a few of them thought it through to the end. Just as socialism only works with other people’s money, anarchy only works when you have a lot of loaded 30’s at your disposal.

I live in Kenosha, a few blocks from where the shootings occurred. While Governor Evers may have mobilized the Guard, few people here are taking the threats seriously. For example, before the announcement was made concerning whether to charge the police officers in the Blake shooting, riot barriers went up around the county courthouse and most businesses put their plywood back over their windows. None of that is happening now. Also, the weather has turned bad – cold rain mixed with snow – which is not exactly riot weather. I have no idea how this will affect the jury; in truth, I’m more concerned that the jurors are worried about their personal safety, after the doxing incident the other day. But we shall see.

Elzorro in reply to Don John. | November 13, 2021 at 4:11 am

Let us know if any of the leftists roll in this weekend. Glad your are here and hope you can post reports ongoing. Thanks.

Presupposing Rittenhouse is found innocent, what then? Will he be walked to the door of the courthouse then pushed out to the mercy of the mob? How is he to live when returned to American society?

Should he flee to Canada? : )

I think the main worry of the governor, and of left-wing politicians, is that rioting after a not-guilty verdict may be met with more vigorous resistance given the energized politics surrounding the case. Imagine another riot there, except this time, instead of just a few, hundreds of folks like Kyle show up armed and ready to fight back. The governor knows that if he just pulls back and sits on his hands, there could be some nasty balls-out deadly violence. That may be enough to get state officials, and the police, to do their job for a change.

All this just takes me back to the LA riots in 1992 after the Rodney King verdict. Once the riot got going full-blast, the police simply abandoned the area. Fire and medical assistance could not enter due to the unchecked violence and danger. Some rioters pulled Reginald Denny from his truck and brained him with a rock. The culprit got a whole 10 year sentence, and Maxine Waters visited this hoodlum’s family out of sympathy and solidarity. 3 decades later, and things seem to have only gotten worse.

I predict minimal rioting even in the case of not guilty verdict. It’s not just about this trial. If there is rioting it puts the President in a tough spot. Rioting makes him look weak because the people are openly disregarding his authority. If he puts down the riot, then he will be panned as a brutal dictator. But we have a Democrat president so I think we won’t see so much this time.

      broomhandle in reply to Layman101. | November 12, 2021 at 10:12 pm

I understand your point but it seems that these riots are so well organized they are being instigated from above somewhere. Whomever that is has an agenda that is more than just creat chaos.

They are. The left bragged about it in that Time article: https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/02/time-magazine-well-funded-cabal-of-powerful-people-secretly-conspired-to-defeat-trump/

“It drew energy from the summer’s racial-justice protests, many of whose leaders were a key part of the liberal alliance.”

The rioters were told to stand down while votes were being ‘counted’ and then told to celebrate Biden’s ‘victory’. That’s why there were those totally bizarre fake celebrations. Those were the same people who had been burning looting and murdering all summer . . . And the cabal was ready to unleash them again if Trump won. They TOLD us they command these street thugs, they bragged about it.

Around here the celebrations were not fake. I remember walking in the street when all that commotion broke out, and the people around me were genuinely ecstatic. And one of them tried to convince me that Trump is an antisemite. I’m afraid I used some intemperate language at him.

MajorWood in reply to broomhandle. | November 13, 2021 at 11:25 am

Portland is an example of where the lefties have lost control of the ultra-lefties. They are starting to learn that the enemy of my enemy (Trump) is not their friend, and what was convenient in 2020 is a serious liability in 2021. Over the last two decades the elections have been mostly driven by identity politics and bicyclists, but now that the city is in a downward spiral even the entrenched libtards are starting to realize that their little piece of paradise is in serious jeopardy of imploding.

TargaGTS in reply to broomhandle. | November 12, 2021 at 8:35 pm

Weather is also a not insignificant factor. There’s a reason most riots (in cold-weather climates like Wisconsin), happen during the summer. It’s a lot tougher to sustain a riotous action when it’s 40° and raining…or worse.

Denny should never have stopped. He should have drove that semi right through their A$$es…
I would of in a heart beat

The jury can stop this with a note to the judge that they are scared and unable to render a fair verdict and that they were unable to avoid knowledge of what is going on.

There was blatant government misconduct during the trail, from withholding exculpatory “Brady Material” in the form of the FBI drone video to procedural misconduct by the prosecutor during the trial itself. Then you have Xiden chiming in with his unfounded comments about Rittenhouse being a white supremacist.

I hope that judge declares a mistrial, dismisses the case with prejudice and files a formal complaint with the Wisconsin state bar against the prosecutor. THAT knucklehead should never try another case as long as he lives.

Given how the media has been framing these incidences and court cases, at least since Trayvon Martin’s death – the media should have long since been held accountable for basically yelling fire in a crowded theater.

But we have freedom of the press in America, so the media can say whatever they please, without having to fear an incursion into their homes and offices by jackbooted FBI agents confiscating all their work products because some government agency was offended.

    Just ask James O’Keefe.

Send Rittenhouse in with the NG to help keep the peace!

Subotai Bahadur | November 12, 2021 at 10:31 pm

It is not just a matter of riots if Rittenhouse is found “Not Guilty”. If he is found Guilty of every charge, plus “Habeus Maybeus” and “Leering and Sleering with Felonious Intent to Creep and Crawl”[*]; there will be riots by the Left in celebration across the country. And they will not be stopped or even impeded in any way in any Democrat polity.

No matter what the verdict, riots and civil disorder are guaranteed without punishment. What non-TWANLOC in America can have any faith in the legitimacy of the legal system? And if you have no faith in the system, and you know that you in reality have no input into the system, what reason is there to obey and submit to it? And at that point things get . . . interesting, in the Chinese sense.

[*]- Back when I was on the job, I once had to deal with someone who was somewhat impaired and causing a mild disturbance. We just wanted him to move along and go home. He challenged us as to what we could charge him with. I rapped out that line, and he stopped, thought a bit, and apologized and went on his way.

    An apt comparison . . .

But what exactly brought down the Weimar Republic, historically speaking?

. . . The orthodox answer is that it was precisely the violent conflict between the extremes on both the right (the NSPD) and the left (the KPD) induced the majority of the citizenry to choose authoritarianism to restore order . . .

Once the center no longer holds, . . .

They also had a convenient great depression. As none was in progress in 2020, the Dems created WuFlu to add economic chaos to their perfect storm mix.
