Manhattan Junior High Grouping Kids by Race in Social Justice Discussions

New York City public schools love to use this system known as affinity groups.

The Lower Manhattan Community School will divide students into groups by race, known as affinity groups, next week during social justice discussions.

The school’s makeup is “44 percent Asian, 29 percent white, 15 percent Hispanic, and 8 percent black.”

From The New York Post:

A Manhattan junior high school plans to racially separate students while discussing identity and social justice topics next week, The Post has learned.

The Lower Manhattan Community School will conduct the controversial exercises as part of its mission to “undo the legacy of racism and oppression in this country that impacts our school community,” according to an email sent to parents.

Kids in grades seven and eight will opt into one of five categories, Principal Shanna Douglas wrote in the message.

Whites, Asians, and multi-racial students have their own categories, while African-American and Hispanic students are combined into one group, according to her email.

“On November 23rd and 24th, 7th and 8th graders will explore the question ‘How do our racial identities influence our experiences?’ in affinity groups,” Douglas announced. “An affinity group is a group formed around a shared interest.”

The school has also offered an additional group, which appears to be for those uncomfortable with the format.

Douglas defended the program because “students are talking about it since race has become a popular topic on social media, or parents are talking even more about it at home due to the recent incidents across the nation.”

DOE spokesperson Nathaniel Styer said the School Leadership Team, PTA, and families developed this optional program.

Students and parents can opt out. But how many will? One mother told The New York Post “most parents are too afraid to say anything at this point.”

Again, did the curriculum change so much since I graduated high school in 1999? My schools taught me about slavery and racism to the point where I know both are wrong and disgusting. Then again, the schools didn’t really mention the hatred Irish and Italians faced when they came to America, especially in the 1920s. I cannot imagine what my great-grandparents went through when they came over from southern Italy.

Anyway, schools can use these affinity groups now after Biden suspended former President Donald Trump’s ban on the groups.

New York City public schools love to use affinity groups. In 2020, the city asked early childhood teachers to separate themselves by “skin color, race and ethnicity” for discussion groups.

A Manhattan principle also asked “asked parents to reflect on their ‘whiteness’ to address ‘white supremacy’, ‘white privilege’ and discrimination.”

So forcing your bigotry on kids that in general don’t have your views. Racism and bigotry are learned beaviors no instinct.

Divide and conquer. Dumbing and radicalizing 13% of the population does work.

    For a while.

“An affinity group is a group formed around a shared interest.”

Shared interest: Learning the rules of mathematics.

Prediction: None or a statistically insignificant percentage of the school’s percentage of blacks will join this affinity group.

It sounds to me like a majority of students in this school come from good homes, where education is valued, and that minorities, who may not have good role models, will benefit from example and peer pressure to perform better.

Regarding the “hatred and bigotry” towards the Irish. This, as usual, is a complete fabrication. Go watch “The Gangs of New York”. The Irish came over, and tended towards all sorts of criminality and gang membership, and lots and lots of fighting.

I saw the statistics for arrests in New York in 1854, The stats were:
400 Englishmen
200 Canadians
150 Germans
10, 300 Irishmen.

There’s your problem right there: People did not want Irish around because they were trouble. Not because everyone was racist. Sort of the same thing today with Blacks being responsible for a lot of the crime. It has nothing to do with everyone being racist. It has to do with the cultural aspects of the group.

And by the way, I am Irish. I just don’t pretend that everything is racism all the time.

Mr. Rogers: “can you say ‘segregation?’ Sure, I knew you could.”

Could the whites, multiracial (where they put the “white Hispanics, apprently) and Asians at least get their own water fountains?

Pardon my extreme sarcasm….

For some time now, minorities have been demanding segregation. I think that we should embrace their brilliant idea. Rather than dumbing down all schools, we have schools for the dumb.

Then there will be no need to take away gifted programs.

    Things have gone full circle.

Has anyone stopped to ask if the Hispanics want to be bundled in with the same group of people as the blacks? At the back of my mind, I believe the answer to that is “no”.

You’re absolutely correct. The differences are stark.

Just look at the voting of Hispanics in Virginia and Florida.

Hispanics I have known have good work ethics, and much better family values.

Generally, they’re also quite pleasant to be around. Most are quite well mannered.

They are taught and raised with the right religion (i.e. behavioral protocol) and do not exercise liberal license to indulge diversity [dogma] (i.e. color judgment). They do not subscribe to the ostensibly “secular” Pro-Choice religion that denies women and men’s dignity and agency, and reduces human life to a negotiable asset.

Hispanics? That is Mexicans, Peruvians, etc.

Or People of Color… of Brown and other diversity (i.e. color blocs including racist) judgments, labels, and designations.

Normal people do not subscribe to the Pro-Choice religion. #HateLovesAbortion

Leftist are racists. This is a conditioning exercise to make the eugenics agenda acceptable. The Nazis worked to make the evil treatment of Jews acceptable.

Funnily enough, gangs in the neighborhood where I grew up used the affinity method to select members and targets. When I grew up, I moved and selected to live with a different affinity group.

Diversity class.

Where have we seen this before? Deep South, Jim Crow era?

Nazi Germany, Mugabe’s Zimbawe., Mandela’s South Africa, father of Obama’s Kenya, Stalin’s USSR… diversity, inequity, and exclusion is leftward and onward. Social justice anywhere is injustice everywhere. #HateLovesAbortion

This is Marxist brainwashing subsidized by our tax dollars

Skin color only equals affinity with leftists
