The Victorian police cracked down on Orthodox Jews for celebrating Rosh Hashanah. The police literally waited all day outside of the synagogue for the men to emerge.

Yeah, this makes sense coming from Andrews. Have you seen the rules in Victoria? I wrote about them in my post on Monday. It’s ridiculous:
You cannot leave your home other than for one of the five following reasons:
- shopping for necessary goods and services
- caregiving or compassionate reasons, including medical care or to get a COVID-19 test
- authorised work (with a permit) or permitted education
- exercise (once a day for 2 hours)
- to get a COVID-19 vaccination (provided the distance travelled, and the time taken is no more than is absolutely necessary).
Victoria also has a 9 PM to 5 AM curfew. You cannot travel more than 3.1 miles from your house. You are allowed one buddy outside of your house.
Let’s not forget the “camps” around Australia. Let’s talk about the one in Victoria under Mr. Andrews:
Australia has begun construction on their second COVID-19 quarantine camp, deceptively called “Melbourne’s Centre for National Resilience.” It’s down the road from Melbourne Airport, known locally as Tullamarine Airport, which serves the city of Melbourne, and is Australia’s second-busiest airport.
The 1,000-bed quarantine facility will be finished by the end of the year but will be operational as soon as it can accommodate 500 beds. It will have the ability to add room for an additional 3,000 beds if needed.
The holding pen is being modeled on the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience. Australian authorities have found that quarantine camps are more successful than hotels, many of which were found to have substandard ventilation. Australian authorities claim high viral loads have caused “COVID leakage,” which resulted in the government declaring a stage-four lockdown of 6 million people in the Australian state of Victoria. Only three of 19 hotels considered as possible quarantine quarters were equipped with the necessary ventilation.
At least Andrews is honest about his thirst for power:
Speaking on Sunday as the state reports 183 new local cases, Andrews doubled down on his prediction of a “pandemic of the unvaccinated”.
He said those who choose not to be vaccinated were “making the wrong choice”.
“We’re going to move from a system where we’ve got everyone locked down to a situation where, to protect the health system, we’re going to lock out people who are not vaccinated and can be,” he said.
“This becomes absolutely a pandemic of the unvaccinated and, when we open everything up, it’s not going to be safe for people who are not vaccinated to be roaming around the place spreading the virus.”
Do we need more proof? How about the crackdown on Orthodox Jews during Rosh Hashanah? (Gee, that sounds like something we’ve seen in New York City in the past year!)
Police arrested six adults after they attended a Rosh Hashanah celebration with up to 30 people:
Police have fined six adults $5452 each, totalling $32,712, for attending a gathering of up to 30 people to mark the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah, in breach of lockdown restrictions.
Assistant Commissioner Russell Barrett said there will be more fines issued “today or in coming days”, as he urged those who attended the gathering to come forward.
“My advice is really clear to the people who were there last night – come forward, identify yourselves and allow us to process you through our systems and apply the law as it is today,” he said.

The police literally stalked the members:
Members of the Orthodox Jewish congregation entered a building, believed to be a prayer room, near a Ripponlea synagogue early on Tuesday morning and told police they wouldn’t leave until nightfall.
Police surrounded the front and back entrances of the building and took details of those who began to file out just after 8pm.
Initial reports suggested up to 100 people had attended.
Mr Barrett said the number is still being investigated, but he’s been advised it was “between 20 and 30” people.
Several worshippers became aggressive and an overnight news cameraman is being treated for a concussion at The Alfred after being assaulted.
The police are staying in the area until Rosh Hashanah ends on Wednesday at sundown.

So what exactly is in these “vaccines” that don’t work? And why is it so important to kill a virus that is now no more dangerous than the common cold? COVID-19 is much more dangerous than the flu, and is still killing a thousand a day in the U.S., or about 0.8% of new cases (keeping in mind that deaths lag cases).
You’re not paranoid. Are you familiar with the Nuremberg Code? We are told that these mRNA jabs are vaccines. They are not per the CDC’s own definition of what constitutes a vaccine. Per the CDC a vaccine is a “suspension of live (usually attenuated) or inactivated microorganisms (e.g. bacteria or viruses) or fractions thereof administered to induce immunity and prevent infectious diseases and their sequelae.” The definition of vaccine goes on to state that a vaccine contains antigens. Antigens are defined as “foreign substances (e.g. bacteria or viruses) in the body that are capable of causing disease.”
What’s in these nRNA jabs that our governments are lying to us about by calling them vaccines. Per the Moderna website, “Every cell in your body uses mRNA, which gives instructions to make the proteins your body needs.” Obviously if every cell in your body uses mRNA (because it produces nRNA naturally) it is not a foreign substance capable of causing disease. Therefore these jabs do not contain antigens, and therefore are not vaccines. These pharmaceutical companies don’t hide this fact.
“The Moderna COVID‑19 Vaccine uses mRNA to provide a blueprint for your cells to build your body’s defense against SARS‑CoV‑2, the virus that causes COVID‑19. The Moderna COVID‑19 Vaccine does not contain SARS‑CoV‑2, or any virus—just the blueprint to help fight against it.”
On another page Moderna elaborates on what it means by “blueprint.” It is a genetically engineered “program” or “app” that theoretically tells the ribosome (which produces proteins within the cells) to produce a certain protein; antibodies, in this case antibodies to theoretically fight Covid 19, being such a protein.

Recognizing the broad potential of mRNA science, we set out to create an mRNA technology platform that functions very much like an operating system on a computer. It is designed so that it can plug and play interchangeably with different programs. In our case, the “program” or “app” is our mRNA drug – the unique mRNA sequence that codes for a protein.”
We are all participating in a gigantic genetic experiment. Which is why the governments are lying to us and telling us we are receiving “vaccines” when we are not. And that we are going to get “booster shots” when we are not; using Moderna’s own terminology we will be getting “software upgrades” to the “programs” or “apps we have already received.
This clearly violates the Nuremberg code. Leftist propagandists are claiming it doesn’t. They claim that the Nuremberg Code only prohibits medical experimentation, and once a “vaccine” has passed “clinical trials” and has been “approved” then the Nuremberg Code no longer applies. But remember, the Nuremberg Code was written before the Nazi (and Japanese) medical experiments on unwilling subjects. All any country has to do now is what our CDC has done. Simply give an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) and claim it’s approved. And also rewrite their own protocols for clinical trials and claim the experimental drug is no longer experimental. Of course, we are the experiment. The fact is the CDC allowed human trials to proceed in parallel with animal testing. This violates the Nuremberg Code. Also the individual has to consent to the experiment. This requires being fully informed of the risk, and no coercion.
We can’t be fully informed of the risk if we are being lied to about these being vaccines when they are not. We can’t be fully informed of the risk when there has never been an mRNA “vaccine” before late 2020. Absolutely no one knows what the long term effects of this mRNA technology will be. For instance preliminary data indicates that using laboratory-engineered mRNA to artificially boost the production of one type of protein suppresses the cell’s ability to produce the proteins the naturally produced mRNA is trying to tell the ribosome to produce.
I expect leftist propagandists to come along claim this isn’t true. Again, I have data that this could be occurring. Not conclusive data, just preliminary. And they have zero, zip, nada data that I’m just flat WRONG! Frankly, these mRNA drugs fit the definition of a medical device, not vaccine.
I fully expect the CDC to change its semantics; they’ll simply change their self-serving definitions of vaccine, and claim, “See, it’s safe.” Then continue with the experimental “gene therapy” (which is what Moderna calls its mRNA technology on its patent application documents). After all, that’s what Fauci did when it came to his own self-serving gain-of-function definition so he could lie to all of including Congress the NIAID he headed wasn’t funding gain-of-function experiments in Wuhan.
Allowing an apparatchik like Fauci to be in charge of crafting definitions to serve his own interests is like putting the Mafia in charge of the definition of what constitutes a RICO violation.

The CDC just changed the the definition of vaccine from, “A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease” to, “A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.” Note they dropped the word immunity because, as Pasadena Phil notes, these mRNA concoctions don’t f***ing do that. But, hey, if you get the mRNA jab you’re not immune but you’ll catch a milder form of Covid.
And the milder form of Covid means you won’t be too sick to go to work, but you’ll still be sick enough to infect others. So wear a mask, everybody! Forever. And don’t forget your “software updates” which they are lying about booster shots. So that Moderna, Pfizer, et al, can use you to fiddle with their “mRNA platform that functions very much like an operating system in a computer” so they can upgrade that “program” or “app” they injected into your cells.
Now, all they have to do is adjust their clinical trial protocols, which they’ll also do in the dark of night, so that the fact they violated their own protocols already can be memory holed, and then simply declare that these “mRNA platforms” have been “approved” for general use.
Then they can coerce you to take the jab.
As I said, the Nuremberg Code was adopted after WWII in response to what the Nazis had done during WWII. But they weren’t the only country that had experimented on people either against their will or without their informed consent.

I couldn’t help but keep thinking about this. Recall back in 2020, between June and November, the World Health Organization (WHO) also began changing definitions. They changed the definition of herd immunity, which in June “the indirect protection from an infectious disease that happens when a population is immune either through vaccination or through previous infection.”
By November the WHO dropped naturally acquired immunity through previous infection entirely from their definition from herd immunity. Now herd immunity could only be achieved “if a threshold of vaccination is achieved. Herd immunity is achieved by protecting people from a virus, not by exposing them to it.”
This is insane on many levels. First, look at the definitions I provided from the CDC’s own glossary of terms. Simple enough, but I know leftist propagandist will claim that mRNA can constitute a microorganism. It can not. MRNA is not a living organism on it’s own. Microorganisms can exist as a single cell or a colony of cells. Each cell will have components (nucleus, organelles, etc.). But a component of a cell is not on it’s own a microorganism.

One big takeaway in stories like this one: the eagerness of the police to roust people, fine them, arrest them, and abuse them. I bet if you coughed, you’d be shot, and it would be justified.

“All cops are bullies” might stretch, but in my small-sample of a dozen times having to deal with them, small town, rural settings, I’ve not encountered an exception.
I got rousted for “eating while not familiar” in one town. Seems my unfamiliar face and the rental car meant I was a danger to their little fiefdom.
Then the people should perhaps do something about it – or submit. It’s not actually an easy choice. Consequences of resistance, even peaceful protest, as given the nature of the rules is illegal, can result in loss of job and income, heavy fines, imprisonment, and physical harm.
You must understand that one of the biggest controls totalitarians place on people is to threaten their families. Many people are willing to suffer personal consequences, but when they must also sacrifice their wives, children, and parents, it becomes a very difficult decision. And to be sure, loss of your income, fines levied against your person, and/or imprisonment surely affects your family.
This is why revolutionaries tend to be young, unmarried and childless.
If the Australian people want their freedom back, they will need to assert themselves and take it back.

The worldwide “news media” has put a firm lid on this story. I have seen photos on the interwebs of utterly empty shelves in grocery stores. I’m not sure which city was depicted. I hope the truckers can pull this off. A couple of weeks might do it, although I would anticipate bloodshed when the military is brought in to move the trucks.
It’s hard to decide whether it’s more disheartening that the Australian government imposes this insanity, the Australian people tolerate it, or the Australian police and military willingly enforce it.
There needs to be a lot of re-examination of emergency powers laws at all levels of government.

If you “lock” people out of the economy, you just create an alternate economy, an underground economy, like so many other underground economies, like the underground market for Levi jeans in the soviet union. People will get what they need with or without government permission.
Underground economies are inefficient, mostly, and create significant cost hurdles. It certainly is not a preferred solution, but, yes, this will be encouraged. Nonetheless, people often do not get what they need without government permission. Mass starvation in tyrannies posit irrefutable data points in this regard.

Agree that it is inefficient in some respects, but also more efficient. Look at the MJ trade prior to legalization. There were no regulations to follow and no taxes. Even in post-legalization, there is an underground economy because some producers don’t want to deal with regulation and onerous taxes, and there are customers because there is a price difference and convenience difference.
If MJ were completely unregulated, it would be essentially free as it grows in the necessary quantities for personal use just about anywhere. The government regulation then does impose significant costs in the black market The government is creating incentive to further regulate producers as it wants higher prices and distribution via taxable entities all for the sake of revenue. However, because of its nature, it is a weed indeed, this will always be difficult to do. As a result, I do not think producers and distributors will ever have unfettered markets, and a black market will always exist since production costs are actually so low.
Creating and participating in an underground economy will be difficult when you can be physically prevented from interacting with others. A digital economy can’t produce food, among other necessities.
Not even the Soviet Union tried to lock everyone in their own house.

The Australians have a choice to make. IMO, the better course is to impede this tyranny when and where possible in small ways. A death by a thousand cuts strategy. Then vote out the authoritarians.
The other two options are lay back and let it happen unimpeded or a mass civil disobedience. Large scale disobedience seems a bad option based on the willingness of LEO to support heavy handed tactics of the regime during their protests.
If they still have elections, the people need to vote all these people out and put them on trial.
Never underestimate the powerful allure of “safetyism”, and the incredibly bad choices it can convince people to make. In its own way safetyism is as deadly as heroin, since it can make the Karens – the high priests and priestesses of safetyism – feel really good about themselves while destroying the lives of everyone involved.
The vast majority of voters support all these measures. Victorian premier Andrews would be returned in a landslide, because he “has the guts to do what’s necessary”. The federal government and NSW state government, which are from the right, would probably lose an election to the left, not because they’re too tough but because they’re not tough enough. What the people seem to really want is a Mussolini.

The politicians in Australia and New Zealand believe that “zero covid” is possible. But that pesky virus can only temporarily be held at bay, and then only with lockdowns and law enforcement.
Eventually Victoria and New Zealand will see a tide of coronavirus infections because the whole world is infected. Their measures are only ruining their economies and destroying lives.

There is only one way to deal with tyrants like this. It is permanent and should never be needed in Western society. But the Tree of Liberty in Australia is apparently lacking water.
To deal with tyrants that way while they enjoy the support of the vast majority would be to impose tyranny. They would rise up against you, because they like their tyrants. Until the people turn against them your solution is no solution. Therefore the first step is to turn the people against them, and that’s a long and difficult slog with no guarantee of success until it’s too late.
You are quite right about the fact that an astonishingly high percentage of the people in most Western countries seem to be complacent or even supporting the tyrannical measures politicians of all stripes seem to favor.
Let us hope that despite sophisticated propaganda and plain fearmongering (for example via mask mandates designed and intended to cow the populace into compliance) it will not take several generations and countless millions of death until these dictators are deposed.

I would say that Australia and New Zealand have proved themselves unworthy of being part of what is regarded as the Free World, except the United States is working real hard to not be part of it anymore either. The prison of NSW health authorities are now limiting home-confined Australians to 6 beers or 1 bottle of wine/spirits per day. All in the name of COVID or something…
Not true. People isolating at home can have as much alcohol delivered as they like. The police have no authority to limit them. But people who are being isolated in government-run facilities are a different story. Incoming deliveries to those facilities are being searched and if someone seems to be getting more alcohol than the agency running the facilities think is good for them, the excess is being confiscated. I can’t even say that’s wrong, though it isn’t freedom.
Think of someone being held as a material witness, or in protective custody, or a sequestered jury. They’re all innocent and free people, and yet they are subject to certain restrictions, and I doubt any of them would be allowed to have massive amounts of alcohol delivered to them.
I don’t know if I could prevent myself from shooting these wannabe concentration camp guards. With a good rifle you could hit most all of them beyond 300 yards.
You could do that, but you’d be taken down, hard, with the full support of pretty much the entire population. And made an example of, so nobody else would try it.

Victoriastan is Australia’s most Marxist state, also the state with the vast majority of China Flu fatalities ~ 80%+ from memory. True it’s nowhere near as bad as Texas, but Texas is nowhere as bad as Democrat states like New York or New Jersey – you need to compare apples to apples. Again from memory, Victoriastan has had about 1 fatality per 8,000 residents, Texas 1 per 550 residents, and the likes of New York or New Jersey 1 per 350 residents. Australia has chosen a zero cases model, doesn’t have plague carrying illegals crossing its borders, and didn’t have an opposition that screamed racism at the thought of cutting international travel. As to what will happen in the future, that’s still to be discovered, though tolerance towards those who can’t or won’t vaccinate appears to be limited. Second class citizens coming soon?

About that synagogue siege: In the end they only managed to get the names of six people, who will be fined $5500 each. Everyone else got away free. Those young enough to manage it escaped through the roof, and then a disturbance was created a short distance away which allowed the older congregants to sneak out undetected.
Meanwhile there were quite a number of other underground Rosh Hashana services operating in private homes, and thankfully none of them were caught, despite a massive police presence in the entire neighborhood.
The police were stopping anyone who looked like a religious Jew and questioning them (knowing damned well that they were likely to be going to one of these illegal synagogues, or at least to know where one was being held) but nobody was caught.
It’s like the USSR.

Oh, and one reporter was roughed up. The news media are being absolute pests to the Jewish community, stalking people, staking out homes, and someone finally had enough.
The main religious obligation of Rosh Hashana is to hear the shofar being blown. This is a Biblical obligation, which means it overrides pretty much any consideration except an imminent threat to ones life. If these restrictions were really necessary to stop people literally dying, then that would override the obligation to hear the shofar, but nothing short of that does. So if it were impossible for Melbourne Jews to hear the shofar legally, every observant adult would be required to hear it illegally, and to bear whatever legal consequences resulted.
Thankfully the government did propose a solution that worked for both sides: people are allowed out for two hours’ exercise a day. And there’s no rule preventing them from blowing horns as they do so. Nor are there rules preventing other people out for their exercise from stopping to listen. So that’s what they proposed, and the community accepted. It’s far from ideal, but it allowed everyone who needed to hear a shofar to do so without being arrested.
(The services being held illegally in private homes were of necessity small and secret, and most people who would have liked to attend were unable to. But that’s not a strict obligation; if one can’t make it to a synagogue one can pray at home. The sticking point was the shofar, since not everyone has one, or knows how to blow it.)
Don’t they have Zoom or FaceBook Live services?
No, that’s not a feasible solution for a number of reasons.
1. One must hear a shofar blown, not an electronic instrument that merely sounds like one. When you hear a shofar blown on Zoom, what you’re hearing is your computer’s speaker, which is not a shofar.
2. Prayer is required, when at all possible, to be done communally, with a quorum of ten adult Jewish men. In the absence of a quorum one can pray anyway, but certain key parts must be omitted. Also, God does not listen to it directly; the angels convey it to Him — except on the ten days from Rosh Hashana to Yom Kippur, when God listens directly to all prayers, even from individuals. So ironically communal prayer is less important this week than usual, but it’s still important.
3. On the sabbath and festivals it is forbidden to use electrical devices. Those that were off before the holy day started must be left off, and those that were on must be left on and not adjusted. So while weekday services can be and are broadcast on Zoom (though that is inadequate for the previous two reasons) it’s not possible to do on any holy day.
(There is one rabbi in Melbourne who is violating this law and holding an online shule, and has presented his justifications for it, but almost nobody accepts them or him. But even he says this does not constitute praying with a quorum, and that one must hear the shofar in person.)
