Australia COVID Cases Rise Despite Becoming the Ultimate Nanny State

Australia COVID Cases Rise Despite Becoming the Ultimate Nanny State

Thank God we have a Second Amendment.

Australia is proof we need the Second Amendment. Australia is proof a virus is going to virus.

Australia has become the ultimate nanny state when it comes to COVID-19. The governments have forced people to stay locked in their homes. They need permission to step outside. They need permission to take a breath.

And yet…the cases will not stop. It’s almost as if a virus does not care if you step outside your house.

Victoria

The state of Victoria extended lockdown and restrictions for another three weeks because of more cases.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said the government will ease restrictions once 70% of the eligible residents have the first dose of the vaccine.

Cases have risen despite these restrictions:

You cannot leave your home other than for one of the five following reasons:

  • shopping for necessary goods and services
  • caregiving or compassionate reasons, including medical care or to get a COVID-19 test
  • authorised work (with a permit) or permitted education
  • exercise (once a day for 2 hours)
  • to get a COVID-19 vaccination (provided the distance travelled, and the time taken is no more than is absolutely necessary).

Yes, you need a permit to leave to work or get an education. How messed up is that?

Victoria residents have a 9 PM to 5 AM curfew except for emergencies, authorized work, supporting a child, or medical reasons.

The government allows you to travel only 5km from your home. That’s 3.1 miles. You can only go 3.1 miles away from your home to shop or exercise.

They also have this thing called social bubble buddy. You can have one friend in Victoria. The government even gave out a handbook about this stupid idea.

The person you choose cannot belong in another social buddy bubble. That is why I said one friend. You can have one friend in Victoria.

What if you have a family? You can have a social buddy bubble with another family but that is it.

You cannot have a social buddy bubble and a household social bubble.

Other insane restrictions:

  • You must designate one person to leave your house for goods and services. You can only leave your house once a day.
  • You can exercise with one other person, but remember not to go past 3.1 miles from your home!
  • If you exercise with someone else you have to stay 5 feet away from each other.
  • You must have your permit to go to work or school.

New South Wales

Let’s look at Victoria’s neighbor New South Wales (NSW). The state will see around 2,000 cases a day by next week.

So of course the government is freaking out.

NSW has many of the same rules as Victoria. But I found a few extreme ones:

  • You have to check in with businesses because they have to provide your details to NSW Health in the name of contact tracing.
  • Hospitality venues must have you use a Service NSW for you to check-in. This makes your details go straight to the health department.
  • NSW only allows you to leave home if “it is absolutely essential.”
  • You cannot visit your family and they cannot visit you.
  • NSW also has that silly social buddy bubble thing. Same rules.
  • You can only visit a person in aged care facilities “if you are providing an essential caring function” or “visit a person who is close to the end of their life.”
  • If you live outside of the Greater Sydney area you can only attend a funeral or memorial service outside of the area if you’re the spouse, parent, child, or sibling of the deceased.

NSW sent out the military to crack down on those who broke the lockdown rules. They will also arrest you if you cross a border.

South Australia

Let’s get Orwellian, baby!

South Australia has an app you must use when you come home from neighboring NSW and Victoria:

People wanting to return to South Australia and home quarantine will have to apply to SA Health.

They will have to prove they have a place to isolate during their quarantine period and must also be fully vaccinated.

Those who are approved will have to download the South Australian Government home quarantine app, which uses geo-location and facial recognition software to track those in quarantine.

The app will contact people at random asking them to provide proof of their location within 15 minutes.

If you cannot verify your location or identity when the fascists ping you they send police to your home to check-in on you.

Of course

Article should say what else is going on. Distancing isn’t the only variable. That is, what is causing the spike in cases in fact.

    The virus is going on.
What, you want governments to do hard science? They can’t even do easy science (like recognizing that the fact that babies aren’t “assigned” arbitrary sexes at birth).
Here’s an interesting article about the difference in cases between a state where the government lets you live your life, and another state where the government micromanages your Soviet lifestyle. Basically, there isn’t any.
I tried to find the article I saw last week that actually had a compelling graph of those two states, but failed.

Variable transmission modes and a false sense of safety from officially prescribed mandates and measures to the vaccinated and non-immune population.

It’s almost as if King Canute knew something modern government control freaks don’t. I wonder what it could be?

If you looked at the data you would have known going in this was the result.

Cold, dead hands, myte.

They will eradicate the virus even if it kills everyone…. not the virus… “it” is “they”. No one has ever stopped any of the other coronaviruses… so why now? If the goal was to enslave the world with shot dependencies .. they are close. All the while… the originators of the pandemic go their merry way.

the ozzie governments are demonstrating severe mental illness and the administrators/officials involved should be treated (EST) and placed in padded rooms where they are unable to hurt themselves or other people

It has become clear that Covid will run its course no matter what governments do.

And there is now enough hard data to reveal that the IFR for Covid for those under 60 is no more than the seasonal flu. Much lower for those under 30.

Sweden got it right and has achieved herd immunity. Denmark concedes Sweden got it right and is now treating Covid as an endemic disease like the flu and common cold.

Meanwhile in countries where radical leftwing authoritarian totalitarians have power they are using it to massively expand the scope and power of the state over everything people do, say, write, and think.

Australia is just further along the path American leftwing totalitarians would like to go in America, if they can get away with it. Experimental ‘vaccinations’ and booster jabs twice a year for everyone forever. Do not question the efficacy or talk about short term side effects. Do not ask about potential long term side affects. Do as you’re told you ignorant peasant. Or we will deprive you of your rights, means to make a living, and ability to live a normal life.

“Australia is just further along the path American leftwing totalitarians would like to go in America, if they can get away with it.”

For decades, American gun owners have recognized that they are supremely fortunate to have the Commonwealth countries as coal-mine canaries, to point at for irrefutable proof of where leftists’ demands ultimately end up.

When the gun “safety experts” whine, “Nobody is coming to take your guns,” we can point to Australia and say, “Yes, they are.” When they say, “There is no slippery slope,” we can point to England and say, “Yes, there is.”

(New Zealand just instituted “knife control,” which England has already imposed since 2018. If you really believe it’s “temporary,” remember I told you so first.)

It wasn’t a historical accident that the authors of “1984” and “Brave New World” were both Britons. IngSoc, baby!

alaskabob in reply to JHogan. | September 6, 2021 at 10:12 pm

The present “vaccines” do not create any herd immunity. Dependency yes… immunity no. If only Sweden had gotten immigration right… what a great place it would have been.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to alaskabob. | September 7, 2021 at 8:25 am

This is not scientific, of course, but I now do not know anyone unvaccinated who is catching the virus, but I do know people who have been fully jabbed who are getting sick. I do not know anyone who was sick who has become re-infected.

New emails and documents have been released today with dipositive evidence the virus was created in Wuhan with US funding from Fauci who certainly lied in congressional testimony to Rand Paul.

The fact our “intelligence” community cannot make a conclusive decision on this rather obvious fact is more proof on how utterly compromised they are by either domestic politics.

Fauci is “the Science”? Don’t trust “the Science.” His little butt needs a great big cover to shroud it in darkness.

I have very little respect for New South Wales. It would be so easy to add one word to the name and make their state NSFW.

No guts.

Cargo cult science and viable legal indemnity. That said, the virus, and its Posterity, are out and proud, and like the social-driven AIDS pandemic, is spreading in vulnerable cohorts.

We need to recognize preexisting immunity (e.g. cross-reactive), conditional risk and superior efficacy of naturally acquired immunity, isolation of vulnerable minorities (e.g. planned parent/hood, pregnant women/mothers), and the absolute risk and marginal benefit of anthropogenic immunity… and external factors (e.g. immigration reform) that compromise community immunity.

Unpopular opinion: This is what happens when you “back the blue” unconditionally. I think society needs police, but I can’t help but notice an overwhelming occurance of police being nothing more than fingers in tyranny’s fist.

How many of you think our police wouldn’t enforce “quarantine” or a “mandatory buyback”?

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to Dathurtz. | September 6, 2021 at 6:25 pm

Given their Dior to door gun confiscation in Nawlinz I don’t doubt it for a second.

It was the police “raus!”-ing people into the trucks in Hitler’s Europe.

The next question: having nothing left to lose, how many will be willing to take Officer Friendly’s life when the time comes?

donewiththis in reply to Dathurtz. | September 8, 2021 at 5:14 pm

It’s a really hard thing to get behind anymore. Of course all law abiding citizens support the police and are hard against street gangs murdering everything that moves.

Ultimately the officers we back are going to be put to a decision. Do they love their supposed pensions more than they love this country, and not only their own freedoms but those of their loved ones. The choice they make will be consequential and I am glad I am no longer in that situation.

So now they are mis-diagnosing ADE as COVID.

randian in reply to Valerie. | September 6, 2021 at 9:34 pm

“So now they are mis-diagnosing ADE as COVID”

I can well believe that, but where did you get this from?

henrybowman in reply to randian. | September 6, 2021 at 9:51 pm

Don’t know if they are “misdiagnosing” it, but newsroom meat-puppets across America are reporting on ADE respiratory problems as if they were due to COVID, sometimes actually making the mistake of saying they are, other times counting on the fear pr0n to make the viewers “hear” what they never said. My mother regales me incessantly about all the children in Florida hospitalized dying of COVID. I have to keep telling her, “It’s not COVID, Ma.” Then she watches another news program and gets convinced again.

They impose Orwellian restrictions in the name of protecting people. And yet none of these leftist tyrants wants to talk about early treatment protocols with D3, C, Zinc, Ivermectin & HCQ. They call these “poisons” and ridicule those who do their own research and take them for prevention and treatment. Any studies that prove safety & effectiveness are quickly “debunked”. They want no efforts made to identify early treatment options. Why? Is there some ulterior motive here?

Valerie in reply to Angel. | September 6, 2021 at 5:45 pm

In the US, yes, there is. It is located in the extension of the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer vaccine (no, it was not a full approval). The EUA is good only so long as there is no approved and readily available alternative for prevention of COVID. And, Pfizer has considerable control over the FDA and a whole lot of our politicians are invested in that company (along with CALPERS).

Some people think monoclonal antibodies are being restricted for the same reason.

I don’t think I exist for the purpose of making Pfizer more profitable.

“I don’t think I exist for the purpose of making Pfizer more profitable….”

Oh, but you do: because Pfizer funnels a good part of that money right back to the corrupt monsters infesting our government.

Australia is proof we need the Second Amendment. Australia is proof a virus is going to virus.

Australia is also proof that the people the Joseph Goebbels media has designated “experts” are f*****g evil totalitarians.

I hope everyone clicked on the red links in the story, especially “these restrictions “ and especially, “gave out a handbook”.
The list of restrictions is breathtakingly 1984 but the “handbook “ is a work of Orwellian beauty.
The government of Australia must assume that a huge segment of their population is , essentially, illiterate! It is like a comic book on how to follow the “rule”. It is written in “EasyEnglish” please check it out. It probably is being used in our high schools and universities now.
Going to the EasyEnglish website I was greeted by a factoid that 44% ofAustralians are language challenged, hence the need to publish rules in EasyEnglish!

Aussies , where are you !!! Crocodile Dundee would never buckle to this.
Coming to a country near you.

henrybowman in reply to CapeBuffalo. | September 6, 2021 at 9:57 pm

“In 2006, just over half of Australians aged 15-74 years had adequate or better prose (54%) and document (53%) literacy skills.”

    Ouch!

Same source mentioned that 20% of Australians did not speak English as a first language.

“Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said the government will ease restrictions once 70% of the eligible residents have the first dose of the vaccine”

I don’t believe it for a second. The goalposts will move like ice on ice.

He also said that wants to deny both healthcare and employment (“participation in the vaccinated economy” was the euphemism he used) to people who are not vaccinated.

Amazing. Four years ago we had Trump in office and were starting to look good in America and the rest of the western world. Even after the DEMs tried to use the Russian collusion and the Ukraine phone Trump appeared invincible and looking forward to a second term in office.

Boom. Two years after Trump is sworn into office out pops Covid and things start to go downhill fast. “Temporary” restrictions turning into two year long lockdown and mask mandates. Now with draconian restrictions and threat of heavy fines or jail time going on in the western world we are seeing our democracies fall apart. Australia, New Zealand and Canada are leading the way down the road to tyranny.

Xi, Putin, and Iran are laughing their collective asses off.

“Xi, Putin, and Iran are laughing their collective asses off….”

So is every marxist ‘professor’ on every college campus in America. So are the useful idiots in Hollywood. So is Obama. So is Soros. So are the other collection of malignant leftist billionaires (Bezos, Gates, Lauren Jobs, Tom Styer, etc.) helping to destroy our nation.

“Australia, New Zealand and Canada are leading the way down the road to tyranny.” Add Great Britain and the US, and you’ve got the “five-eyes” countries. Spying on each others’ citizens so as to get around their own countries laws against it. We’ll all end up in the same boat.

Four years ago we had Trump in office and were starting to look good in America and the rest of the western world. …. errr no, Trump was laughed at and generally despised by the rest of the world practically from day 1.

      henrybowman in reply to mark311. | September 7, 2021 at 5:34 pm

Yeah, they’re ready to crown Sleepy Yellow Joe as Prom King. They miss Trump now.

        mark311 in reply to henrybowman. | September 8, 2021 at 8:06 am

No one outside of the US misses Trump, Biden is an improvement but again that’s from such a low bar a garden gnome could get over it. The US undoubtedly could have much better candidates than Biden, but Trump was a swampy narcissistic self serving authoritarian loving ahole.
