As you may have heard by now, Obama has been planning a huge birthday party for himself at his mansion on Martha’s Vineyard, complete with a lengthy celebrity guest list and two hundred servants.
As Democrats and the media hype the latest COVID variant, the optics of this event proved to be too much, and he has been forced to scale it back.
Isn’t that just awful?

Obama reportedly scales back 60th birthday party due to Delta surgeFormer President Barack Obama has canceled his controversial 60th birthday mega-bash in Martha’s Vineyard, citing the spread of the coronavirus’s Delta variant.“Due to the new spread of the Delta variant over the past week, the President and Mrs. Obama have decided to significantly scale back the event to include only family and close friends,” Obama’s spokeswoman Hannah Hankins said in a statement Wednesday morning, The New York Times reported.“He’s appreciative of others sending their birthday wishes from afar and looks forward to seeing people soon,” she added.Obama’s decision follows a report by The Post, which cited a source as saying the former president was creating a public health “nightmare” by trying to get nearly 700 people to his party amid a national surge of the variant and new restrictions.George Clooney, Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey were among the 475 guests expected to attend alongside about 200 hired hands.
How do you think the media and Democrats would react if Trump was planning this party?

Jen Psaki tried her best to spin this when asked about it.
The COVID hypocrisy is only one aspect of this. How do you think all those celebrity guests were planning to get there? I guarantee you most of them were going to travel by plane, likely private jets. Do you think George Clooney and other celebs were going to take the ferry with a bunch of middle-class New Englanders headed to Mahtha’s Vinyud?
Not a chance.
They planned to fly, and then sip champagne while talking about the seriousness of climate change. They would also undoubtedly discuss the importance of equity, as an army of servants waited on them.
Membership in the privileged class has its benefits.
