Obama Scales Back Martha’s Vineyard Birthday Bash When People Notice His COVID Hypocrisy

“Due to the new spread of the Delta variant over the past week, the President and Mrs. Obama have decided to significantly scale back the event to include only family and close friends”

As you may have heard by now, Obama has been planning a huge birthday party for himself at his mansion on Martha’s Vineyard, complete with a lengthy celebrity guest list and two hundred servants.

As Democrats and the media hype the latest COVID variant, the optics of this event proved to be too much, and he has been forced to scale it back.

Isn’t that just awful?

Yaron Steinbuch reports at the New York Post:

Obama reportedly scales back 60th birthday party due to Delta surge

Former President Barack Obama has canceled his controversial 60th birthday mega-bash in Martha’s Vineyard, citing the spread of the coronavirus’s Delta variant.

“Due to the new spread of the Delta variant over the past week, the President and Mrs. Obama have decided to significantly scale back the event to include only family and close friends,” Obama’s spokeswoman Hannah Hankins said in a statement Wednesday morning, The New York Times reported.

“He’s appreciative of others sending their birthday wishes from afar and looks forward to seeing people soon,” she added.

Obama’s decision follows a report by The Post, which cited a source as saying the former president was creating a public health “nightmare” by trying to get nearly 700 people to his party amid a national surge of the variant and new restrictions.

George Clooney, Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey were among the 475 guests expected to attend alongside about 200 hired hands.

How do you think the media and Democrats would react if Trump was planning this party?

It’s almost like our elites play by a completely different set of rules.

Jen Psaki tried her best to spin this when asked about it.

The COVID hypocrisy is only one aspect of this. How do you think all those celebrity guests were planning to get there? I guarantee you most of them were going to travel by plane, likely private jets. Do you think George Clooney and other celebs were going to take the ferry with a bunch of middle-class New Englanders headed to Mahtha’s Vinyud?

Not a chance.

They planned to fly, and then sip champagne while talking about the seriousness of climate change. They would also undoubtedly discuss the importance of equity, as an army of servants waited on them.

‘What, me worry’?

Significantly scale back. I keep hearing that phrase. I don’t think it means what they think it means. Did they scale it back from 700 to 695? Is that significant enough? Has anyone heard an actual number of the scale?

I keep thinking, we don’t know that he “scaled back” anything…we only know that he told his friends in the press that he was doing so….doesn’t mean anything. They’ve both (O and the corporate media) been known to lie while pretending sincerity.

He is scaling back the festivities from close friends and family to
only close friends and family.

Speaking of hypocrisy, check out Markey’s and AOC’s approach to masking in a crowd:

They know, as most of us do, that those masks, if they’re under N100, offer no protection at all, AND that more people die of the flu every year…that the test cannot differentiate between “covid” and the flu…and that 99-point-infinity do not die.

Oh– and that the corporates have been using the word “cases” when they mean “unreliable positive tests” for months now, so it’s all a big joke anyway.

Like China, we will now have a “controlled population,” with shut-downs anytime they feel like it, probably featuring short periods of “it’s all right” every once in awhile to let off pressure. Thank God (literally) for life in a rural red state where we pay no attention. Only medical offices require it, and the current trustworthiness of those folks means that we stay away from them as much as possible anyway.

I’d like to know what “scaled back” means too. I doubt they’re bringing it down to 50 or less.

I think that beside the Covid/gatherings issue, the optics of flaunting their wealth didn’t help either at a time when the economy is in the dumps, inflation is rising, and businesses are still struggling to keep their doors open. Can you imagine how much this was going to cost? It’s not like they were going to be ordering pizzas and drinking Budweiser and box wine while sitting on picnic blankets. This was going to be well into six figures, and may still be since they’ve probably lost quite a bit of money in terms of non-refundable deposits. Then how many people have found out they can somehow afford a $12 million place on Martha’s Vineyard when they already have a mansion in DC (and the house in Chicago they rarely step foot in)?

Although maybe it’s not surprising: The WH was party central during his presidency and people would clamor for invites, including Hollywood celebrities.

To your point, Pearl Jam was supposed to play at the party. Not sure if they still are.

You’re right; I actually had made a mention about Pearl Jam and deleted it.

I’m guessing they’re now going to try to keep as many details as possible about the “scaled-down” party from being blabbed to the media. Maybe even asking those who do attend not to post about it much, if at all, on social media?

Don’t be silly – Obama probably could afford a big bash because he saved 16 cents this 4th of July compared to last year’s.

He just proved we are all correct and this WuFLu has become a political tool, not a deadly disease.

There goes Joe & Jill’s invitation!

Barry’s self indulgence upset the Democrat’s “fear” apple cart. Boo hoo.

Covid hypocrisy? How about climate hypocrisy? That mansion should be under water right now!

So a dinner party keeping 6 foot space incriminates?

Pearl Jam? Really? I don’t like his taste in bands or husbands…

Where are the pics?!

This isn’t just somebody famous, it is a leader; someone who’s judgement is supposedly superior; a guy who thinks he’s the smartest in any room he walks into. It doesn’t surprise those of us who are objective that he has always been about one set of rules for himself and another for the rest. He was and is a bad leader by the example of his actions. I personally think he should go ahead, and tell everyone else to do the same.

Barrack Obama is many things several of which I will not post on this webpage. However, one thing he has never been, is not, and will never be, is a leader. He’s a politician and a rather vicious one at that. A leader in a free country understands he must justify his position to the nation. Obama thinks (Much like Mrs. Bill Clinton) power is his by divine right. and you are no one to question him.

Just my opinion as a physician who has been in practice over 50+ years:

This DAISNAID Pervocrat attitude is out of control. The inherent malignant narcissism (older term, but I’m an older psychiatrist/neurologist) of Oblivious is just, as we say in the South, “too much”. I doubt that we will hear anything about this from CDC should any Delta variant (not that there is a reliable FDA-approved test for it) infection(s) occur—nor would there be any publicized contract tracing from Marxachussetts.

This is so disheartening. Even the Martha’s Vineyard leftist yokels were upset, but no one heard anything about that.

Nothing says you care like 500 people without masks attending a party in a county where masks are “required” for outdoor meetings and inside activity.

I guess it was just too hard to smoke a joint with a mask on.
