Rep. Devin Nunes Lambastes Democrats, Intel Community For Declaring War On Republicans/Conservatives As ‘Domestic Terrorists’

Rep. Devin Nunes Lambastes Democrats, Intel Community For Declaring War On Republicans/Conservatives As ‘Domestic Terrorists’

“Democrats see political benefits in characterizing wide swaths of American citizens, particularly Republicans and conservatives, as politically suspect, politically violent, and deserving of government surveillance”

Everyone in America is being programmed–in K-12 classrooms, universities, their workplace, on social media, and in our cultural output–to accept inherently racist initiatives like Critical Race Training as not just normal but as positive steps “forward”; everyone is required to not just tolerate but to vocally support Black Lives Matter, open borders, blanket amnesty, the Green New Deal, biological men competing against women in women’s sports, and defunding the police; and everyone is required to police their own thoughts lest they utter something that runs afoul of the cultural revolutionary guard.

This is the world the regressive left envisions, one in which there is no dissent, no free expression of unapproved ideas, no pushback on their totalitarian fantasies. And absolutely none of that white supremacist nonsense about America being exceptional, free markets being a force for good, our nation’s founding principles being laudable, the idea that speech is not just protected but cherished as one of our nation’s greatest and most unique freedoms, or the American experiment being a raging success as we confronted and overcame our problems as one nation united in pride for our country.

So onerous are these pro-America beliefs that the Biden administration has labeled anyone who has such wild ideas as those enshrined in our Constitution as “domestic terrorists,” and Congressional Democrats along with the military and our intelligence infrastructure have declared war on “domestic terrorism” as manifested by these stubborn domestic gun-, Bible-, and Constitution-clingers.

The foundation for this anti-America onslaught was laid during the Obama years but was forced dormant due to immense pushback and outrage (neither of which faze the ascendant radical left this time around).

Remember that 2009 DHS memo warning of “rightwing extremists” who have crazy ideas like support for states’ rights (aka the 10th Amendment) or those who are pro-life or those who do not support illegal immigration?  Yep, that pro-life grandma in Dubuque is a likely domestic terrorist according to this myopic worldview, as is that legal immigrant who opposes amnesty for those who did not play by the rules and abide the law.  We were horrified then, and a teensy bit bemused (maybe even a little amused?), but fast-forward to 2021, and the Obama team reassembled under Biden is exponentially more horrifying.

In fact, this new, post-January 6th “war on domestic terrorism” declared by Democrats and the Biden administration on wrongthinkers is so alarming that Republican California Rep. Devin Nunes blasted Democrats for “hijacking” the intelligence community in considering and treating American citizens who reject their anti- and un-American Marxist revolution—i.e. Republicans and conservatives—as “politically suspect, politically violent, and deserving of government surveillance.”

That’s all alarming enough, but Nunes points out that this is a seismic shift in the intelligence community’s role.  Rather than focusing on foreign and foreign-affiliated threats to national security as is their purview, Democrats and the intelligence community under Biden are  laser-focused on Americans in America—those with no foreign ties—as some kind of terrorist threat to national security.

The Federalist reports:

Republican Rep. Devin Nunes of California slammed Democrats and the Intelligence Community on Thursday for engaging in and focusing on partisan actions against U.S. citizens instead of bigger threats around the world.

“We have to see the world the way it is, not the way we want it to be or what is convenient for perverted political narratives,” Nunes said during the House Intelligence Committee’s annual public World Wide Threats Hearing. “The intelligence community has a crucial task of defending our national security from foreign threats, but the increasing politicization of this apparatus risks becoming a threat to our national security in and of itself.”

.  . . . This hijacking for political gain, the Republican said, continues as Democrats engage in the “weaponization of intelligence community against so-called domestic extremists” and undermines the committee’s purpose.

“Democrats see political benefits in characterizing wide swaths of American citizens, particularly Republicans and conservatives, as politically suspect, politically violent, and deserving of government surveillance,” Nunes explained. “However, I remind those assembled here today that our intelligence community exists solely to counteract foreign threats. History shows that major abuses occur when our intelligence capabilities are turned inward to spy on our own citizens, from the FBI spying on Martin Luther King Jr. in the 1950s and ’60s to its surveillance of Republican Party members in 2016. This is a red line that simply cannot be crossed. In fact, this committee was created in large part to ensure that that line should not be crossed.”

Nunes also said it is “concerning” and “worrying” that the director of national intelligence is heading up a report on domestic violent extremism and that the National Counterterrorism Center is “focused on U.S.-based individuals with no foreign influence or connection.”

The only threat that the vast majority of Republican and conservative voters pose to America Last Democrats is in the voting booth, and they actually know this, as does the intelligence community. But that knowledge does not stop them from using the events at the Capitol on January 6th to justify targeting American citizens who aren’t on the divisive and inherently racist anti-white, anti-Constitution regressive bandwagon.

Indeed, House Republicans like Ben Sasse (R-NE) have apparently already caved to the demands of the leftist cabal seeking to treat anyone who is not on the regressive train back to the 1930s as an enemy of the state.

Sasse took a knee to his new totalitarian overlords and slobbered all over their shoes.  His bowing and scraping to the Biden intelligence community that he knows full well is targeting right-leaning American patriots as “domestic terrorists” was a complete and utter disgrace.  And he was not alone among sycophantic House Republicans eager to curry favor with the America Last forces who’ve declared war on wrongthink.

American Greatness reports:

The freshly reelected Republican senator from Nebraska had kind words this week for Joe Biden’s intelligence chiefs. “The American people are blessed to have an [intelligence community] as serious as ours,” Senator Ben Sasse said during Wednesday’s Senate Intelligence Committee hearing. He called the group, which included FBI Director Christopher Wray and CIA Director William Burns, “heroes” and wanted a chance to “say thank you” in front of the American people.

Sasse, who is supposed to act as a fierce skeptic not a fawning cheerleader of the world’s most powerful intelligence apparatus, singled out Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines for praise. “Your opening statement . . . was incredibly strong,” Sasse swooned.

Haines, the top deputy to former CIA Director John Brennan during the Obama Administration, undoubtedly marveled at winning such a groveling endorsement from a sitting Republican senator—or perhaps she internally laughed at winning over yet another reliable GOP dupe. (In fairness, most Republicans on the committee joined in Sasse’s praise for Haines.)

But Senate Republicans should have been outraged rather than starry-eyed over Haines’ opening statement as well as her conduct in office since taking the reins of the intelligence community the day after Joe Biden’s inauguration. Haines is wasting no time accelerating the weaponization of a sprawling organization that is supposed to identify threats to the homeland by foreign actors, not target Americans with the wrong political views.

. . . . Instead of prioritizing resources to confront the menace posed by America’s foreign adversaries, which is her job, Haines is devoting most of her time to pursuing Americans on the political Right. Her first official missive as Biden’s DNI didn’t raise alarm over China or North Korea or Iran—it warned that Americans represent a “heightened threat” to the homeland this year.

“Newer sociopolitical developments—such as narratives of fraud in the recent general election, the emboldening impact of the violent breach of the U.S. Capitol, conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and conspiracy theories promoting violence—will almost certainly spur some DVEs to try to engage in violence this year,” Haines claimed in her March report. “Domestic violent extremists are U.S.-based actors who conduct or threaten activities that are dangerous to human life in violation of the criminal laws of the United States or any state; appearing to be intended to intimate or coerce a civilian population; . . . or affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping.”

While Haines fear-mongers over rightwing wrongthinkers under every rock and behind every lamp post, actual criminals continue to wage their year-long anarchist insurrection against government in Democrat-run cities like Portland and Seattle.

Instead of condemning this violence against local, state, and federal authority, Democrats and the Biden administration turn a blind eye (when they aren’t actively working to ensure arsonists, looters, and murderers are released as soon as possible). Antifa agitators and BLM activists don’t spend a night in jail, while wrongthinking actors are held for months, allegedly beaten to the point of life-altering harm, and routinely denied bail.

The regressive Democrats’ “war on domestic terrorism” is a war on wrongthink, a desperate attempt to criminalize pro-American patriotism and support for our Constitutional Republic. Being an American patriot is now the exact same thing as being a racist “white supremacist” who is racist. And white. The worst sin of all.

The Regressives (I no longer say “Progressive” – I call them what they are) are relentless. They are masters as using language to manipulate. They obviously have psychologists and brand-savvy people working to weaponize language.

They have branded conservatives “racist” and insulate their followers from contrary opinions by demonizing the “racists”. I know many people who refuse to turn the channel to FOX or to even hear conservative or even contrary opinions. They are paralyzed with fear that they may get sucked into agreeing with people who they’ve been told are racists for so many years. Some words trigger them into shutting down, such as “patriot” “constitution” “Trump” “FOX” “liberty” – you say those words and your considered a white supremacist today (whether your white or not)..

You cannot stop the Regressives’ destructive path unless you can deprogram people long enough to hear facts. I think Candace Owens is effective because she is black and so people would listen. Now they have branded her racist too.

We are in a vicious cycle that is fed by Network Effects and reinforced by media. Like a plane whose engines stop – we have a short time to get them started before we, as a country, hit a point-of-no-return.

This is what has me completely gob-smacked. Everything that is our cultural heritage is being destroyed, up to and including the Constitution of these United States. Loving our country, feeling bound to it and its defense, is now practically, if not yet legally, a crime.

I am still having trouble wrapping my mind around this crystal clear point: if I love my country, am a patriot, and support our Republic’s founding documents, I am some kind of pariah in my own country?

France has this right and weeding out the commie loons is a must. Like France, we must start with our educational systems (K-12 and college). Until they stop churning out commie zombie nutters, we cannot stamp out this anti-American, anti-white, anti-capitalist crazy.

I feel like I just woke up in the middle of my worst nightmare. And every day is Groundhog Day from Hell.

Yes. You will be a fringe-right-wing white-supremacist insurrectionist. And your point of view will be indefensible, because the corrupt media (both online and offline) will guarantee that nothing you say will ever be heard.

When the shooting war begins, I predict that the Dorseys, Zuckerbergs, and Stelters of the American press are going to be woefully underprepared to discover that they, and the people who work with and for them, show up high on the consensus list of enemy combatants.

I remember some graffiti in Portland which said, “The liberal gets the bullet too.” So I take some small solace from the fact that the many fellow travelers will pay a price too. I would love to see their reactions.

Fuzzy- I echo your waking up sentiments. Until recently I was minding my own business like most of America and tuned out of the political and social discourse. I was a left-leaning professional living in New York. Watch CNN all the time and avoided FOX and other anti-establishment media.

Then in 2017 all media told me that our President was a Russian agent. I thought our country was in peril and started to pay attention. I did research into the 2016 election and the social changes advocated by so-called Progressives. The more I learned the more disturbed I became. It is clear to me – and to anyone who takes some time to do the research – that the danger was not Trump but a group of radical Marxists who appear to have hijacked the Democratic party.

There are millions of people who, like I was, are tuned out and complacent. They still think the Democratic party stands for classical liberal ideas of free speech and personal liberties. They don’t realize that it is now merely a façade – a front for those who want to transform our culture and undermine our way of life. I think both parties have ideologues who push extreme ideas. But the radical agenda in the Democratic party has metastized with cover from radical editors who have taken control of most US media.

I wish all Americans could take time to go through the process of investigation and discovery that I have gone through. I was skeptical and distrusted conservatives. Now I feel like blindfolds have been removed and I see past all the bullshit. If there were some way to show American people the true extremist agenda of the Democratic party it would be a game changer. In reality, the Democratic radical are like the “emperor that has no clothes”. That’s why they need the media to confuse people and to shield people from the truth. I pray our country wakes up to see the threat from this Fifth Column before its too late.

So just to clarify, whose job is it to ride herd on the intelligence community and ensure they don’t go rogue like this? Asking for a friend (whose initials are D. N.).

Maybe I should be asking this of the guy who shows up on my ballot, and the GOP kingmakers who put him there. I sure don’t remember the names Wray, Comey, Strzok, or Clapper ever appearing on my ballot, and I do look at it pretty carefully.

(I guarantee nobody named Strzok ever was. I would definitely remember that.)

It is all about defining the battle space. Create the rules, narrative, and definition – the battle is defined and won

JusticeDelivered | April 18, 2021 at 9:02 am

The battle is not won until the shooting stops,

Are we at the point where we are willing to hear the truth that non-literal blasts are irrelevant?

How many years have we heard similar words to no effect? How many years have we marched toward this point while “our side” decries what is happening? Hoe many years have we watched freedom after freedom stripped from us while we keep drawing red-lines somewhere in the next few hills?

Maybe Nunes’ words will fix the problem.

Fuzzy Slippers and other site bloggers should use their real names if they want to be taken seriously. Anonymity is the refuge of cowards. Commenters are one thing but those who are writing articles should be identified.

Why? I don’t get why it affects how seriously I should take their ideas or views.

Ben Kent in reply to Dathurtz. | April 18, 2021 at 3:50 pm

SamC130 – who will not give his name – wants to be able to doxx those who write for sites like this. For far too long, the radical Regressives have used the openness and good nature of American’s against any opposition. Now people like SamC130 wonder why some writers would be reluctant to put their name out in the public. Radical Regressives do not want an open and free debate – they want to destroy any opposing POV.

You calling Thomas Paine, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison cowards?

Doxxing in the Revolutionary Days meant a bullet to the head by the British overlords.

Today’s tyrants are not quite as harmful – but they sure try hard to destroy your life – if not take it outright.

The Sons of Liberty were anonymous because their lives depend on it. We are reaching a point were at least our livelihoods depend upon it.

Anonymity is for those who want their ideas judged on their own merits, as well as those who don’t want to be harassed.

Translation “I am a leftist who wants to make life difficult if you state your opinion because my leftism has nothing to do with an American tradition with men like FDR and Truman it has more to do with that of an Italian former socialist who took over Italy and died in a gas station with his mistress”.
