MLB Moving All-Star Game From Georgia Due to New Voting Law

MLB Moving All-Star Game From Georgia Due to New Voting Law

Is the law perfect? No. You can tell who has actually read the law and MLB definitely has not read it.

Major League Baseball caved to the mob because outrage over facts. Always.

Commissioner Rob Manfred decided to move the All-Star Game from Atlanta, GA, due to the outrage over the election law everyone lies about.

So what? Republicans need to stop worrying about what the Left thinks. It’s time they start fighting back against these evil charlatans.

Go woke, go broke is the motto

Are there tax breaks that Georgia could revoke for MLB? If so it should be done immediately.

Ghostrider in reply to Danny. | April 2, 2021 at 4:05 pm

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting, but the joke is on us. They don’t care.

JHogan in reply to Danny. | April 2, 2021 at 4:38 pm

How about revoking MLB’s protection from anti-trust laws?

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to Danny. | April 2, 2021 at 5:48 pm

I propose Georgia impose a 99% income tax on professional athletes who live or work, to include playing games, in Georgia, with proceeds distributed as reparations for slavery.

We can give it all to Al Sharpton and let him figure out how to dole it out.

You could place a 5 cent tax on each tweet sent from, to, or routed through the state, and give it all away as reparations. A $50 per mile carbon offset charge for private jets. A $5 per square foot carbon offset fee for all homes larger than 8,000 square feet. A $10 per mile fee on exotic cars. Anyone making over $1,000,000 per year would need to pay a 10% special sur tax, or have it waived it they paint a Black Lives Matters logo on a public street on Juneteenth. The possibilities are endless.

Corporations doing the messy work of the woke.

Which is, the last time I checked, one of the hallmarks of Fascism.

Funny how the left screeched about Trump being Hitler and FASCISM!! for four years (in between bouts of RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA) but now that they’re in power they are just fine-and-dandy with true Fascism and Communist-style cultural purges.

Silly and pathetic posturing. I love my baseball, but I won’t be watching my Red Sox or the All Star game.

Done with baseball.

The Sports Commissioner Hall of Shame inducts its newest member: Rob Manfred. He joins charter member Roger Goodell (see Goodell’s refusal to allow Cowboys to memorialize assassinated Dallas POs in 2016) and China lover and slavery enabler NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

And when do they make this announcement? On the Friday of a holiday weekend, so by July they figure enough people won’t remember the game was supposed to be in Atlanta in the first place. Last I checked, Atlanta wasn’t doing that well in attendance prior to WuFlu, so I wonder how many Joe and Jane Average full season and partial-plan ticket holders will be cancelling. It’s just a fact of life that corporate sales aren’t going to fill the joint.

The MLB brass should be more worried about how Wuflu protocols are going to cause havoc to the season’s schedule. For example, the entire opening series between the Nats and the Mets (yesterday, Saturday, Sunday), has been cancelled.

    p in reply to p. | April 2, 2021 at 3:37 pm

Also adding that a bunch of the Joe and Jane Averages may very well just cancel because all-star game tickets, or at least the chance to get them, are given as an incentive to purchase full and partial plans.

MLB is dead to me. Along with the NBA and the NFL.

I have better things to do than further enrich self-righteous sanctimonious communist fascist millionaires and billionaires.

Punks. We have a lot of things to do besides watching overpaid athletes disrespect our country.

Get woke, go broke.

Best I recall, you must shoe an ID to purchase an adult beverage at a baseball game.

Suggested response from Georgia to MLB:

“Don’t let the door knob hit you in the a** on the way out.”

And that’s the end of my relationship with major league baseball.

CapeBuffalo | April 2, 2021 at 4:04 pm

It seems they (sports in general) never learn. How did the NFL do with its wokeness? The NBA with its Lebron lectures?
It is more than time for the non woke to wake up.

China is beginning to ban US companies doing business in China and apparently Nike (almost half of their business) is one of them. Apple has been transferring more and more of its China slave operations to India which wouldn’t do Nike or the NBA any good. Good-bye Nike and NBA,

      Sure hope so.

Don’t kid yourself. All of Nike’s manufacturing is done in China with slave labor supplied courtesy of the CCP. There is no way they could make them as cheap as they do anywhere else.

JimWoo in reply to CapeBuffalo. | April 2, 2021 at 10:47 pm

The NFL hasn’t been punished enough.

While I’m on the subject, other things that MLB should be worrying about more than voting laws:

1) Over-use of analytics making games boring to watch;

2) Too much reliance on home runs as well;

3) Losing a generation or more of fans because even with family packs it can get expensive to take the kids to a live game on a regular basis;

4) Allowing ESPN to dictate schedule changes as the season goes on so the Sunday afternoon game that you could have taken your kids to is now the Sunday Night Baseball game. Seriously, in general MLB should be pushing for more weekend afternoon games, not less; and

5) Cheating. Not just individual players, but entire organizations being accused of it.

I’m sure I forgot something.

CapeBuffalo | April 2, 2021 at 4:09 pm

I think all sports All-Star games and championship series should be held in Beijing,

The Democrats are sending the GOP a very clear message,… “We’re in charge now, Stand up to us and we will destroy you; both your career and your family.”

Socialist totalitarians never change

MLB? In terms of excitement, it’s like golf, but with more spitting.

Gremlin1974 | April 2, 2021 at 4:22 pm

You would think that a sport that was and is less popular than the NFL would have paid attention to what has happened to the NFL over the past couple of years.

But keep listening to the screeching harpies, Legion ball and minor league ball is always better than MLB anyway.

Keep watching the games and supporting the teams run by people who hate you.

Like many others here I’ve had it and have given up on sports. It is easy, and justifiable, to dismiss the athletes as pampered entitled egotists so who cares.

But it still makes me very angry. Sports used to be not only a shared national experience but one that transcended politics. I’m not a great athlete but like millions of others I derived great enjoyment from following the ups and downs of the teams I rooted for. And you could go to a game without having to worry about whether the guy next to you was a Republican or Democrat. Now that has been taken away … for what? In the name of some crummy political agenda. I HATE the left so much!!!!!!!!!!!

healthguyfsu | April 2, 2021 at 4:32 pm

Well, baseball was fun while it lasted. I’ll be watching college baseball for now and that’s it. See ya, MLB.

Baby Elephant | April 2, 2021 at 4:32 pm

At this point, I think the Governor should stand up to the MLB. He should tell the MLB that they shouldn’t be doing half measures and if they really feel like they can’t do business in Georgia then it may be time to relocate the Atlanta Braves. I would give Governor Kemp props if he used Covid as an excuse to lock the team out of the stadium.

If the Republicans had any balls at all they would say to MLB:

Put the All Star game back or as soon as we are in power, we will raise your taxes and make your anti-trust exemption a memory. We will tax you into extinction

Baby Elephant in reply to Ghostrider. | April 2, 2021 at 4:46 pm

I think that the woke left turn by large corporations is creating an opening for Republicans to pull back on some of their crony capitalist ways and attract more voters. Why should Republicans be bending over backward to corporations that in turn punish red states every time a liberal screams? This is the chance to stick it to the liberal big businesses while supporting the small businesses that make America what it is. If they have the guts to do it, then it might accelerate the shift of blue-collar workers into Republican voters.

Comanche Voter | April 2, 2021 at 4:40 pm

If Manfred either read or understood the Georgia law before doing this he is an irnoranus–and I didn’t misspell that word.

Comanche Voter | April 2, 2021 at 4:40 pm

Well I did misspell it. It’s ignoranus–and I think you know what I mean.

Real American | April 2, 2021 at 4:42 pm

time for a 90% state income tax on professional athletes and executives.

And the move is done with no real regard for the people who earn a portion of their living form the game …

MoeHowardwasright | April 2, 2021 at 4:47 pm

I gave up on baseball when they forced the Indians to shelve their logo. This just puts the last nail in the coffin. I used to travel up to Cleveland twice a year for a series, as well as heading up to St Pete when the Tribe was in town. No more. You don’t get my money and the vendors, restaurants, Uber drivers, etc don’t get my money either. It doesn’t have to be public, just don’t go, don’t watch, don’t buy the merchandise.

The last All-Star game I cared about was when my brother was in Little League.

The Friendly Grizzly | April 2, 2021 at 4:57 pm

I last followed baseball.when Sandy Coufax, Son Drysdale, the Sherry Brothers, and Philipe Alou were still around.

Another loser: Democrat GA senator Jon Ossoff. He opposes moving the All Star Game on April 1st…and gets thrown under the bus by the MLB the next day.

Shucks, I know he’s an idiot, but I reckon this stuff makes him look even worse.

Nobody watches this meaningless game anyway, do they?

The MLB handlers have read the law. Any law that makes elections less corrupt must be suppressed. The MLB leadership knows that in a totalitarian state, you do what the Party (CCP or their traitor Democrats/RINO surrogates) tells you to do or your replacement will. Destruction of the MLB is another target in the destruction of the American culture. This is a pattern that shows the plan. Do you think MLB and Dr. Seuss are unrelated?

Colonel Travis | April 2, 2021 at 6:03 pm

I quit MLB last year. I regret I only have one F-U to give to my former national pastime.

CapeBuffalo | April 2, 2021 at 6:07 pm

It is time for sports fans and former sports fans to all “take a knee” with their asses toward the stadia. Exposed if you wish.

I think the MLB should move to Canada…..or better yet China! I’m sure they would be more comfortable in one of these socialist “paradises”!

empiricallyobvious | April 2, 2021 at 6:21 pm

The Left used to portray themselves as highly erudite and having the ability to parse the nuances of life and society much better than the heathen Right. Now they won’t even read a bill or tell the truth. We are now a full on battle for the heart and soul of our democracy.
We must fight back and stand up our own servers, social media and pay platforms.
Oh yeah, and adios to MLB…never again. You will die a slow and painful ratings death and fall into irrelevance.

Ah, yes.

The MLB is going to punish them by withdrawing the game from the well-known Republican stronghold of…. Atlanta?

Talk about a premature ejaculation!

Were it not for news, I’d have never known. Does Jane Fonda still have her foam hatchet thingy from back when she and Ted were “close”?

Baseball is so lets Trannies beat girls in sports. Maybe it’s time to investigate how many illegal aliens get a pass because they have a 99 mph fastball.

Maybe it’s time to check how politicians and bureaucrats help MLB bring in illegals instead of doctors, nurses, and qualified migrants who contribute to America.

“Major League Baseball caved to the mob because outrage over facts..”.

How big a crowd is required to fit the definition of ‘mob’? Has anyone looked at the attendance numbers lately?

Hubby is a huge sports fan. He used to watch everything NBA. He watched a lot of baseball and football. Now? He watches Gonzaga basketball. Period. And he says the first time they go political, he’s done.

How embarrassing for a major professional sports league to paint itself into a corner without doing even the slightest bit of fact checking. I’m assuming MLB headquarters has internet service, because they were able to post their virtue signaling tripe. Maybe a simple search could have prevented this now forever-memorialized stupidity. If I were a prospective MLB investor, I’d put a halt to any further discussions.

I bet they have it in Baltimore

Why does major league hate black people? They didn’t enact the legislation, yet mlb is taking away a huge amount of money from a majority african american city. Racist much mlb?
I see a politician is having his staff write up legislation repealing mlb’s anti-trust exemption. TIme to start hitting all the corporations for jumping onto the sjw bandwagon.

In some form of damage control to her “I’m the akchual governor of Georgia” brand, sore loser Stacy Abrams is griping that the MLB did this. The idea is to swat at Republicans while not actually harm Georgia. MLB was last to get the message, apparently, that there are nuances and . . . um, things, that mean Abrams and her racist lunatics can’t do harm to Georgia while . . . doing harm to Georgia. Being an anti-American racist lunatic is so complicated.

ghost dog in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | April 3, 2021 at 2:17 am

“You arrogant ass! You’ve killed us!”

Would there be even a possibility of backlash in the Atlanta area against Democrats? I’m not high on drugs and I’m very well aware of how likely Kemp is to carry the African American vote but Democrats used lies to take something away from the city of Atlanta (whatever their phony damage control says) could this be a ticket for Brian Kemp to win more of Atlanta?

I’m asking because it is a while on the subject lets see if this little bit of optimism is insane.

Libertas_7_4_1776 | April 2, 2021 at 11:41 pm

Mr. Manfred did not yield to the mob, as usual he is an eager part of it. He was a prime promoter of the BLM invasion of baseball and other destructive political maneuvers. Instead of protecting our most traditionally populist sport he exposes it to it’s detractors much like our historic statues were sacrificed to the Gods of political correctness. If Manfred lasts much longer there will be very little of the grand old game left.

Has anybody made a public list of the companies/brands that advertise with MLB?

MLB has been a snore for decades, so who cares?
.

“You can tell who has actually read the law and MLB definitely has not read it.”

For the MLB players, these semi literate jocks will need the law read to them. Then, they can pretend to understand. Hint: they still don’t understand.
I wish I had been to a game, then I could boycott them.
