Harry’s Razors Stops Advertising On Michael Knowles Show After Twitter “Influencer” Complains
Cancel Culture’s Chilling Effect: “We’ve ended our relationship with this show & are looking into our sponsorships to prevent any values misalignment going forward.”
While there are still some on the left (those who have not yet been canceled, that is) who claim there is no such thing as cancel culture, it is a very real phenomenon. Its goal is to banish wrongthink from every aspect of society and punish with loss of livelihood, career, and reputation all wrongthinkers. Personal and professional destruction is only the near-term goal, of course. Silencing wrongthink completely is the end goal.
Part of achieving that goal is the chilling effect intended when the social media mob comes for a company or person deemed to have violated woke orthodoxy. Other companies and persons see what happens and then bend over backwards to avoid being targeted–this takes the shape of everything from not sharing their true viewpoint to canceling business ties with anyone who dares flout leftist lunacy.
Today’s case in point is the bizarre incident involving a self-proclaimed “future college student,” this person’s Twitter account consisting of two followers when the complaint was tweeted (it’s up to 11 followers as of this writing), a 2019 segment from a Candace Owens show on which Michael Knowles appeared, and Harry’s Razors.
The future college student apparently took some time to find a video clip it deemed offensive, then looked for the companies that only later advertised on one of the participants’ shows, and then tweeted to Harry’s Razors about the 2019 video’s supposed offense.
@harrys is sponsoring Michael Knowles. The same @michaeljknowles who is spreading homophobic and transphobic content. He had Joesph Nicolosi jr as a guest on his show and equates being trans to having schizophrenia. It is wrong that Harry’s or anyone sponsors this vile content

The fact that Harry's, a company I love, is supporting this message is disappointing. Here are the sources: Soccer Statement: https://t.co/ZiXWjvOajf Interview With Joesph Nicolosi Jr. https://t.co/CDXOVXBlip https://t.co/HKNaFXnAJk pic.twitter.com/aMJWp2WIjx

This person’s Twitter profile (as it now appears with its booming 11 followers):
A responsible company might look at the person’s profile, determine that they are not only too young to shave—much less to “love” Harry’s Razors—but that they are hardly a Twitter influencer to whom bending a knee makes any sense whatsoever.
The account is barely four months old, is run by a teenager (presumably), and had at the time of the complaint TWO followers. By comparison, major social media “influencers” tend to have a million or more followers on one account, with lesser influencers having only 40,000 and up on any one account.
So chilling, however, is cancel culture that Harry’s Razors responded to this child with two followers with a formal business decision:
Thanks for bringing this up. We condemn the views in this video, which are inexcusable & at odds with our longtime support of the LGBTQ+ community. We've ended our relationship with this show & are looking into our sponsorships to prevent any values misalignment going forward.
— Harry's (@harrys) March 20, 2021
So not only has this brand new Twitter user caused Harry’s to stop advertising on Knowles’ show, but the company, presumably run by grown-ups, also pledged to review all shows on which it advertises to ensure no “values misalignment” offends this nobody “future college student” on Twitter . . . that it doesn’t sic its two whole followers—its parents?—on them. It’s quite surreal.
A co-founder of the Daily Wire, which broadcasts the Michael Knowles’ show, was nonplussed.
Harry’s makes great razors. That’s why we’ve been proud to advertise them for years.
We know @harrys doesn’t share our values. Who cares? Economic decisions shouldn’t be political decisions.
But now Harry’s has decided to declare that conservatives don’t deserve great razors. https://t.co/LAUvQL0DxG
— Jeremy Boreing (@JeremyDBoreing) March 22, 2021
Of course, Harry’s has always known our values. Heck, the clip they’re “mad” about is from 2019!
All that happened here is they got caught – caught committing the ‘inexcusable’ sin of selling good products to good people with different political values.
That’s where we are.
— Jeremy Boreing (@JeremyDBoreing) March 22, 2021
Finally, it’s worth noting advertisers leave all the time for all sorts of reasons. That’s totally appropriate. They have their own businesses to run.
But to CONDEMN our product – and thus our audience – after we’ve PROMOTED your product is assholish behavior.
Screw Harry’s.
— Jeremy Boreing (@JeremyDBoreing) March 22, 2021
It should be emphasized that the Knowles clip in question wasn’t even on his show . . . and that it was aired before Harry’s Razor started advertising on the Knowles’ show.
Watch:
The left doesn’t view advertising as a business venture, a desire to reach the most prospective customers possible. It has sold its divisive, destructive drivel that advertising on a popular show is the equivalent of cheerleading and personally espousing that show’s content. These people do this even if the show’s host appears on another show and long before the company in question even advertised on the host’s actual show.
It’s absurd, of course, but that’s where we are. Ideological purity—or “values alignment”—must be sought, bullied for, and enforced because simply advertising your product to millions of people who shave, eat, drink soft drinks, bank, drive cars, or buy clothes means you are a Nazi and white supremacist and every anti-ism ever invented.
The destruction being wrought with this “accountability” project by the far left is immeasurable, but tying a product to the venue in which it is advertised was pure (evil) genius. The increasingly fascist left is winning this culture war, hands down, and the compliance of companies like Harry’s Razors to virtual nobodies on dubious claims illustrates exactly how effective they have been.

As far as I know, they are just a front for Chinese goods anyway. As far as I know.
I quit shaving a year ago. Apparently companies that make sharp objects designed to be drawn across one’s face and throat are simply more squeamish than their (increasingly former) customers.
Time to find another razor to buy.
Damn shame, too. It was a good product.
Knowles ought to shave onscreen during one or more of his future monologues, with non-Harry shaving gear whose labels are fully exposed. We can virtue-signal, too.
Their blades are made in Germany, the rest ??
This used to happen regularly with Rush’s show. Sooner or later these businesses discovered that offending 30 million or so current or prospective customers wasn’t a very good business decision.
Meh – I say we have too many razor bade companies as it is. Personally, I do not buy things from people who spit on me. That list has grown quite long, but, alas, I still have all the goods and services I want.
Cancel or be cancelled!
Rush’s show did have such an incident and Rush wouldn’t take them back after sales collapsed. However Rush’s show often was used for roll-outs and was very successful at such. When the product matured, agencies would usually go mainstream.
IIRC, it happened several times, but most of the advertisers quietly returned after things quieted down.
PERSPECTIVE
Trans make up about one fiftieth (1/50) of one-percent of all people.
There are more people of Scottish people in te USA than trans people. Now what if every Scot demanded that every person wear a Scottish kilt (which looks like a skirt)?
THE POINT is it is selfish and unfair for a group to demand that 99.95% of people act and speak in the way they dictate. They are not content with living in the most open and free society the world has ever known – they must demand that we all submit to their demands.
By the way, I’d love to see them try making such demands in China or Russia or Brazil or most other countries. They take advantage of the good nature of the American people – and they know it.
Worse, they are pushing school kids to examine their gender as young as six years old – filling their heads with thoughts they may be the opposite sex. 12 and 13 year olds getting gender transitions. It is abusive.
Candace Owens is right. People should not get sucked in to supporting this madness as and encourage it as a co-dependent. When will people wake up and push back.
The virtue everyone should signal is for freedom from tyranny of a minority that is willing to use EXTORTION to get what they want. Time for Michael Knowles to SUE.
And at least the Scots aren’t lying when they say they are a Scot!
Thank you Ben Kent, your your logic based but impassioned comment is so well written that I would like your permission to repeat it. I would leave out the last sentence because it would require explanation of context. OK?
I, for one, just canceled my subscription for blades and accessories, but was unable to find a contact link to let them know why I did.
Cancellation works two ways…and it’s a pity because I loved their products.
Oh well, another on my boycott list.
I hear you. I’m running out of places to shop these days! Just dumped Amazon Prime and have no intention of ever using them again. Wonder if they’ll notice (I bought a LOT of stuff on Amazon!).
Find myself on Ebay these days. Might check out Walmart.com. There’s GOT to be competition for Amazon out there!
The Waltons are a bunch of Libs
China whores
As are Macy’s, Ross, Nerdstorm’s, Target, what is left of Sears and Penney’s, Bloodbath and Beyond, Lowe’s, Home Despot, Staples, and every other retailer.
That may be, but they do earn brownie points for having steadfastly refused to kowtow to leftist harridans (of all 57 genders) who demanded they post their stores as gun-free. Not only did they refuse, but they informed store managers that posting their individual stores would be a violation of chain policy.
I applaud your decision to stop doing business with them.
But there’s no good reason to tell them why you stopped.
They don’t care about your opinion and they won’t change their policy. They’re sure they’re better than you, and it’s their job to tell you how to think and your job to obey.
It will hurt them more to see their business decline — and not know why — than to know that their business declined because some “hateful” customers have not yet been beaten into submission. Companies pay big bucks gathering information about why some strategies work and some don’t work. Why give a company that hates you this information for free?
The goal is not to “fix” Harry’s — that’s impossible. The goal is to help Harry’s executives lose their jobs and help the company go out of business. Another company will fill the void.
Me too–just cancelled. There’s a contact point on their website. I just let them know that many of their customers aren’t woke and that they made a foolish business decision. They probably won’t care, but I feel better and they won’t get more of my money.
My list of woke corporations I’ve cancelled or won’t do business with if I can reasonably avoid it is getting longer and longer. In cases where I cannot reasonably avoid it I found I can minimize it. While I look for alternatives.
Someone needs to start a public access list of woke corporations we can use for reference. So we cancel or minimize doing business with them.
After all, they’re loudly and clearly telling us they don’t care about our business. Don’t care if they lose our business. Don’t care if we never do business with them in the future. And that they hold us in contempt.
Probably easier to list the ones that haven’t gone woke YET.
Great idea, get on it!
“values misalignment”
What happened to the days when companies acted as if making money for themselves and their employees was even more important than insulting as many people as possible with phony morality?
I just sent Harry’s an email saying how disappointed I was that they don’t have a diversity of opinion on their advertiser and are missing a large group of potential customers. I now have a negative opinion of their company and would be unlikely to purchase their product. If more people would respond to these types of attacks the companies would take note.
Some say don’t bother telling Harry’s that you don’t like their wokeness, I disagree. Small companies can’t afford even small percentages of loss. They will soon know that conservatives are usually hairy, masculine men, transexuals probably use depilatories!
Let them know at [email protected]
More than 400% increase in followers — and counting — out of a single Twit (or whatever they call them). Very impressive.
Never heard of Harry’s Razors. Maybe they are trying to raise their profile with All The Best People (TM)….
So Knowles stated the fact that people who want to mutilate their own bodies have psychological problems?
Another company wants to flush millions of customers and potential customers in order to placate a woke ninny who wants to cut of his pee pee?
Buh bye, your blades go dull after about 2/3 of a shave anyway.
Knowles should demonstrate his support for male to female transsexuals by getting Burdizzo for a sponsor.
Buy a Chinese electric razor. The Chinese don’t care how woke you are. That’s something the have over American companies.
Harry’s is basically the German branch of Schick razors.
Didn’t Harry’s used to sponsor Rush Limbaugh and other conservative shows? And did great business from the shows?
They advertised heavily on Pandora, that’s how I found out about them.
consisting of two followers when the complaint was tweeted (it’s up to 11 followers as of this writing)
Wow, that’s an incredible 450% increase! That’s incredible, he should become an influencer with stats like that!
(yes, that’s sarcasm)
It has sold its divisive, destructive drivel that advertising on a popular show is the equivalent of cheerleading and personally espousing that show’s content.
Catch up, people! Progressivism is a religion. This sort of behavior is religious in nature. Start reacting that way.
All this said: I tried Harry’s razors: meh. I found Schick disposable razors have much closer, and are cheaper.
As for Gilette? Who cares.
I made the mistake of shaving for my wedding. In the limo outside the church, my wife said, “Grow it back.” Haven’t shaved since then. Have a wedding album full of some stranger marrying my wife.
At issue is the fact that the left is successfully starting to make being openly conservative incompatible with taking part in economic life now.
