Self-awareness fail: Twitter condemns Ugandan internet shutdowns

Tuesday, Twitter Public Policy tweeted in response to reports that Ugandan internet service providers were blocking social media and messaging apps.

“We strongly condemn internet shutdowns,” tweeted Twitter Public Policy, “they are hugely harmful, violate basic human rights and the principles of the #OpenInternet.”

Condemn internet shutdowns, eh?

And in the very NEXT tweet, they talk about how they worked with their “peers” to suspend a whole bunch of accounts “targeting” the election.

Does Twitter Public Policy have any idea what Twitter has done and is doing?
