MSNBC’s Joy Reid Doesn’t Know What “538” Represents

Thinks 538 website named after Al Gore’s vote lead in 2000 Florida recount. “If Joy Reid were your architect, the bedroom ceiling would fall on your head the first time the wind blew.”

There is fierce competition for the position of dumbest talking head over at MSNBC. Lawrence O’Donnell, Chris Hayes, Mika Brzezinski, and Nicolle Wallace put up a great fight for the prize on a regular basis, but Joy Reid consistently outshines all of them in this coveted category.

A recent tweet from Reid about the meaning behind “538” in the name of the polling outfit “FiveThirtyEight” should be framed and hung on a refrigerator somewhere.

Observe:

Joy’s follow-up wasn’t much better:

Kyle Smith writes at the New York Post:

MSNBC’s Joy Reid is the wrongest person on television

If Joy Reid were your architect, the bedroom ceiling would fall on your head the first time the wind blew. If Joy Reid were your plumber, the contents of your toilet would come spewing out your shower head. If Joy Reid were a pilot, a firefighter, or a police officer, we would no longer be discussing her, except in the past tense.

But! Joy Reid is a television pundit, albeit one who toils for the hysterical conspiracy-theory factory known as MSNBC, and hence can never suffer any penalty for being factually inept: Hey, it’s only somebody talking. Did you make the mistake of assuming MSNBC was about accuracy?

Regarding the content of Reid’s tweet, Smith adds:

Bzzt. Wrong. Gong sound. Let the mighty all-negating Foot of Monty Python come down from the heavens and squash this tweet onto oblivion. We award Joy Reid no points, and may God have mercy on her soul. The Supreme Court didn’t reverse the 2000 election and fivethirtyeight.com is, famously, named not after George W. Bush’s margin of victory in Florida in 2000 (which was 537) but after the number of votes in the Electoral College.

Not to worry, Joy. Just say your Twitter account was hacked.

How do you have such a low IQ and get air time?

Whenever I state an obvious fact about Trump or something good in the Trump world, my Leftist friend goes to CNN on his phone for a “fact” check to prove me to be stupid. I stopped caring and now just let him think he’s brilliant like Joy Reid here. BTW he said that he was driving in his car listening to CNN when the media outlet anointed Biden winner and he cried. Seriously, he admitted he cried! Go ahead and dissect all the things wrong with that picture. It does provide perspective though.

From the culture that thinks “picnic” originated from when white people used to pick coloreds for lynching while eating PBJ sandwiches and that Joe Biden is a duly elected president of something.

And that “rule of thumb” has something to do with wife-beating. I’ve even heard it claimed that “to call a spade a spade” is somehow racist.

Joy Reid: “Sum moe’ron fo’get they maff sines. 5 x 3 = 8. Duh!”

Now let’s listen to her when she explains dominion, algorithms, statistics, probably, etc. I would also like to hear her brilliant take regarding whistleblowers now that those are the people who will bring democrat corruption to light.

Joy has what we used classify as someone suffering with a mild mental handicap

Well that diagnosis equates to an IQ between 50-75…

Milhouse in reply to irv. | November 11, 2020 at 2:21 pm

Yes, mild. She dresses and feeds herself, drives a car and navigates successfully to work every day, can handle the equipment she uses at work (mics, etc.). But my guess is that she can’t balance a checkbook.

    That’s retarded, sir.

JusticeDelivered in reply to caseoftheblues. | November 11, 2020 at 3:34 pm

Imbecile included people with an IQ of 26–50, between “idiot” (IQ of 0–25) and “moron” (IQ of 51–70). In the obsolete medical classification (ICD-9, 1977), these people were said to have “moderate mental retardation” or “moderate mental subnormality” with IQ of 35–49.”

There was merit to these classifications. Average American black IQ is 85, so it is quite possible that she literally falls in the moron category. The same is true for Omar.

It is a shame that we have an increasing number of morons in congress, not just as an insult, but real morons.

This young man needs our help too. He’s a whistle blower on the Pa steal, works for the Post office, has been put on UNPAID leave and threatened
The Feds try to coerce him into recanting his story and Wapo in fact reported the lie that he did despite his contacting them that he in fact did NOT recant
Time for him to hook up with Lin Wood, I believe that’s the lawyers name and sue the crap out of them!
But in the meantime, this ex military man and true Patriot needs our financial help.
Spread it around. Those who have tweeter accounts, FB. Put it on big time feds..

I’m betting she’s a “diversity” hire. This is what happens when you hire on identity and not merit.

JusticeDelivered in reply to Moon Battery. | November 11, 2020 at 3:46 pm

Diversity, Affirmative hiring have introduced huge inefficiencies throughout society, government & USPS are near basket cases, then academia, nonprofits and corporations.

Why expect anything intelligent from this moron’s mouth?

Next up at msnbc: alexandra cortez. (Her making noise about ‘quitting politics’ was funny (she has that bartending experience as a fall-back). But in truth, she probably got an offer from msnbc or cnn that dwarfs her congressional salary.

Ironically, that is #537 on the list of things she doesn’t know.

Stupid and ignorant are two different things.

IMO, Reid like many d/progressive is ‘informed’ by her ideology. They don’t perform even basic research before spouting off nonsense. Her ideology tells her that what she believes doesn’t need to be checked. Her belief outweighs facts. Thus we get ‘fake but true’.

There are of course folks in the d/progressive coalition who are less than gifted with intelligence. These are the foot soldiers doing the marching and rioting.

Now the other portion of d/progressive aren’t stupid or ignorant. They know exactly what they are doing, saying or leaving unsaid. These are the ones to keep an eye on because these ‘true believers’ are the dangerous ones.

“You are, without a doubt, the worst pirate I have ever heard of.”
“But you have heard of me.”

Reid being staggeringly stupid isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. You’re talking about her. You’re talking about MSNBC. It’s free publicity.

I think it’s kind-of a victory for her to even be able to get to 538. She has never been a shining light of intellect and I’m afraid the darkness is arriving. Quickly. But, on the bright side, she will be SO much fun to watch after Trump wins.

Live in a bubble that’s how.

When you seal yourself into a narcissistic bubble to affirm how informed and smart you are, you listen to this jackass Reid.

Reading what this woman writes is a clear and present danger to maintaining one’s level of IQ. I’d call her an ignoramus, but I’m concerned I would offend ignoramuses everywhere.

“But the bottom line holds, that margins in the range Biden is leading by don’t get overturned by recounts.”

I’m glad to see her write this. So, she supports an audit of every suspect vote, and not merely a recount, yes?

Given that this is the least stupid thing ever to fall out of Reid’s mouth, how is it “news”?

Reminds me of Julianne Malveaux and her comment about “Vichy Indians”.

Of course Joy Reid doesn’t know what it represents. She couldn’t count to 538 if you started her at 530.

The Fourth Stooge: Moe, Larry, Curly, and Curly Joy.

Another example of how affirmative action brings black incompetents into jobs far beyond beyond their capacity–and from which all suffer
