Black Lives Matter protesters harass neighbors of Minneapolis Police Union chief

“You think we give a [expletive] about burning Hugo down?”

About 100 Black Lives Matter protesters went to the Hugo home of Minneapolis police union president Bob Kroll to protest, and verbally abused neighbors who were on their driveway.

The tactic of protesters going to homes is not new, but it has become a signature of BLM. It’s an intimidation tactic, a way of letting the target know that they are unsafe where they sleep.

The protest outside Kroll’s home was led by John Thompson, a candidate for the Minnesota House for the DFL Party (the state version of the Democratic Party). He has been endorsed by Ilhan Omar and Gov. Tim Walz, and he just won the primary.

Thompson led the crowd in taunting neighbors standing in their driveway. The Star Tribune reports:

More than 100 people congregated outside Minneapolis police union president Bob Kroll’s home in Hugo, where he lives with his wife, WCCO reporter Liz Collin. The rally on Saturday came as part of an effort calling for both Kroll and Collin to be fired from their jobs.

Two videos circulating on Twitter show John Thompson, a DFL activist who last week won his primary for House District 67A in St. Paul, wearing a shirt reading “Bob KKKroll Must Go!” and shouting into a microphone to the group of protesters, with neighbors and children nearby. One clip shows him saying “You think we give a [expletive] about burning Hugo down?” In another, he says “[Expletive] Hugo.” Activists also smashed piñata effigies of the pair and took a knee before dispersing.

The video went viral, including on Twitter:

After the video spread and attracted national coverage, Thompson posted a weak non-apology apology on his Facebook account:

I became an activist and ran for the legislature to make a difference, to work diligently to fix our broken criminal justice system, dismantle institutional racism, and honor my friend, Philando Castile and become a symbolism of help within our community. I want to make a positive difference, and my comments on Saturday were not helpful. Inflammatory rhetoric is not how I want to address the important issues we’re facing, and I apologize. I’m not apologizing for my passion to fight injustice.

Minnesota DFL officials are not walking away from Thompson, as the Star Tribune article noted:

Minnesota DFL Chairman Ken Martin also issued a statement Sunday saying the party does not condone any rhetoric that is violent, hateful or inflammatory.

“I’m grateful for the work John is doing to combat systemic racism, and I’m glad that he recognizes yesterday’s rhetoric was inflammatory, hurtful, and does not help move our state forward in the fight for justice,” Martin wrote.

Yes, of course it was unhelpful to the DFL, Democrats, and even more so to Black Lives Matter.

This is not an isolated instance. It’s not just Hugo, or Minneapolis, or Chicago, or Portland, or Seattle, or St. Louis, or New York City, or dozens of other places around the country week after week. We are way beyond the anectodal stage.

It’s the witch hunts from the days of White Hispanics all over again. Some, Select Black Lives Matter is a highly diversitist corporation and a typical Pro-Choice sect of the Progressive Church.

These are terrorism tactics, the things he was spewing wasn’t just rhetoric, he is an insurrectionist, he will not uphold the Constitution, he is a racist, a bigot, and is looking to incite violence.

The National Socialists are the biggest threat to this country that we have ever faced. They haven’t changed from their ways since the Civil War era, they just hid their agendas as they moved ever leftward.

Yet this terrorist will probably win his election. How anyone would want to give this dangerous creature power is beyond me. It used to be anyone as insane as this would never be elected, now it has become a career enhancement for these leftists.

If this thug actually has a real address where he lives, his home should be “protested”.

But you know the protesters would be arrested and have their lives ruined –no matter how peaceful and non-threatening they were.

If they actually threatened to burn down the thug’s neighborhood…well you know the rest.

Milhouse in reply to JOHN B. | August 17, 2020 at 11:18 pm

No, they wouldn’t be arrested, for the same reason these people aren’t being arrested; because they’re staying just on the right side of the law. Who do you think would arrest them? The police?! The police would be on their side.

They wouldn’t be arrested, but they might well get beaten up or killed; Thompson’s neighbors are not nice people like Kroll’s. So if anyone tries it they’d best come with heavy police protection.

Nope. What we have here is probably disorderly conduct, obstructing traffic, several noise violations, and a host of others. The right to assembly and the political speech is not absolute. It can be regulated as to time and place, as long as it is not denied totally. Lock these people up. Fine them and continue to lock them up and fine them until they are broke.

See, the problem is that nature abhors a vacuum and so does society. When law and order breakdown, people will simply fill the void left by the removal of the authorized enforcement agents. People who do not live ina a particular neighborhood will be stopped by heavily armed citizens manning their own checkpoints. If people in other neighborhoods become aggressive, surrounding neighborhoods will band together, invade the territory of the aggressors and wipe them out. We have seen this throughout history. And, thanks to the WOT, we have a large number of well trained, experienced combat troops living in the suburbs. “Say hello to my leetle friend!”

Milhouse – then cite the law that allows this behavior.

          Milhouse in reply to Dexterdog101. | August 18, 2020 at 11:05 am

If they’re breaking a law, why do you suppose they aren’t being arrested? Do you seriously think the police would not arrest these people if they could? You think the union chief they elected has no pull with them? That’s why I assume the “protesters” are carefully toeing the limits of the law, and that itself is a taunt to the police.

More generally, the first amendment is the law you’re looking for. It doesn’t completely protect residential picketing, but it does give it a good deal of protection. See the link I’m posting in a separate comment.

Our laws don’t work that way, or at least aren’t supposed to. We gave up some of our rights so the state governments can have some powers. The states created the federal government with those powers.

These issues should fall under the state legal framework. Most of that should be restrictive when it comes to criminal law, not permissive. So it would be impossible to “cite the law that allows this behavior.” Instead, there would be laws that forbid this behavior (or not).

There is a difference between violating a constitutional law and being arrested and charged with said violation. What is happening in many locales, especially those run by liberals, is that the PRACTICE, not the RIGHT, to demonstrate for political purposes is being protected by elected officials. Try blocking the public right-of-way in front of an abortion clinic and yell foul insults at the people therein and see how fast you are hooked and booked. These people are not demonstrating their protected political point of view. They are disrupting society. That is NOT protected speech.

          Dexter,

Under our legal system things which are not proscribed are allowed. So there isn’t a need for some to cite a law that makes their activity legal.

That said, these folks were in the middle of the road blocking traffic (illegal), yelling and screaming (disturbing the peace illegal), using a sound amplification device (use without a permit is illegal).

That’s to start. Personally, if someone is in front of my house and makes a statement to the effect that they will burn down the city, I would treat that as a threat. Then begin turning on sprinklers and hoses to water down my home and grounds to make it harder.

If these folks happened to be inadvertently sprayed with water, took offense and moved into my yard well….That would be an unnecessary and threatening escalation with potentially dramatic consequences.

Residential Picketing and the First Amendment

“The Minnesota law allows injunctions to be issued based on targeted residential picketing that happens “on more than one occasion”.

If I had to guess I’d say that Thompson never read Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People.

Sociopaths do not negotiate. They control through force, manipulation, intimidation, and other skills possessed by bullies. They control into submission or destroy. They only understand force whether used by them or their targets. Anything less than force by their targets is seen as weakness and is to be exploited.

By any means necessary say the Democrats/Marxists.

The Democrats have started their convention with race out front, buffeted so far with the show biz element. So fake. Will people go for this or see through it?

If Kamala changes her mind….

So what happens when AOC, Omar and this guy are in charge of the left? You best hope they have lots of juicy skeletons in their closet and the bilateral ruling party can keep them under wraps. You best hope the news media get the memo to ignore them when they get the megaphone.

Right now, they can do what they want up to a point. Murders getting them probation. So that’s a thing. Planning murder gets them a seat in the Whitehouse and a ghost written biography of a President.

What happens when they’re in charge?

You won’t vote your way out of it. Demographics and power structures guarantee when not if.

The terrorists depend on their allies in government to exempt them from the law. But they also depend on their victims not to fight back. When that happens, the terrorists will wish they had the law to protect them. But nothing will protect them. Nothing.

The guy looks like he’s singing, actually.

Go after the money people.

Hear that, AG Barr??

I keep wondering about the money and the logistics. Where do these people live? Where do they sleep and eat? Where do they assemble (staging areas) for these riots? Where do they get the money for all of this?

The military takes out the enemy support structure yet the police when not AWOL seem to only engage the enemy like it is a game (e.g. Portland) that will be played repeatedly rather than a battle to be ended. Something is not making sense to me.

These tactics will not stop until there is a downside for the perpetrators. The Doxing and terrorizing of neighborhoods will continue and spread. No arrests and catch and release prosecutors are no help and even afford encouragement.

Disgusting human being. How old is this clown? I haven’t been able to find out. All I know is that he’s getting gray hair and has the emotional intelligence of a 5-year-old.

This guy = the (D) party today. Hate, hate, hate 24/7.

According to the most recent FBI statistics ( 2018 ) I could find, Blacks, comprising 13% of the population of the USA, committed 53.3% of all murder and non negligent homicides.

” Reparations “?? Maybe those that want to cash the check should be writing it.

The Democrat party has gone all in on protesting and riots
They need to get that label stuck on them

This is not a drill! The longer we allow this to happen without confronting it, the worse it will get. They are getting bolder because we are not doing anything about it. Had that neighborhood been organized to stage a massive and united 2A/castle doctrine show of arms, things would have gone differently.

https://www.rightjournalism.com/antifa-messed-with-the-wrong-town-they-just-beat-the-ever-loving-snot-out-of-them-video/

Why aren’t there more of these videos being circulated? I just found half a dozen in less than a minute. Antifa/BLM is not winning everywhere. It’s time to suck it up and beat these thugs back. We ARE in a civil war and it’s only going to get worse regardless of who wins in November. Why won’t we frogs jump out of the boiling water already?

Thompson is another example of the fine, upstanding, thoughtful leader of the Demorat Party. With that foul mouth, he must be related to Maxine Waters.

Oy, that’s not a protest, that’s a Weight Watchers field trip.

Where’s a firehouse when you need it?

Lucifer Morningstar | August 18, 2020 at 11:02 am

Minnesota DFL Chairman Ken Martin also issued a statement Sunday saying the party does not condone any rhetoric that is violent, hateful or inflammatory.

You don’t “condone it” but you certainly won’t condemn it. Hypocrites.

This is why I live on acreage and have a very clear gate/fence between me and the street and also between me and my neighbors.

Bad idea to violate those boundaries.

Also- it’s time some harley riders and trucks w/out exhausts showed up at these events.

Wow….The guy in the TV interview is a lot different than the guy in the protest video….(yikes)

Not sure why he’s yelling at the teenage neighbors….???
Maybe…he was making a Rap video…?

Some day one of these savages will threaten somebody’s wife and kids or break into their house. When the savage gets shot they’ll all scream “Racism!” or some similar idiocy. You play stupid games …
