Texas A&M Police Say Student Left Racist Messages on His Own Car

“He was the only person with enough time to place the notes on his car”

A black student at Texas A&M University claimed racist notes were being left on his car. Campus police launched an investigation and ultimately concluded the messages were being left by the student himself.

We have seen numerous campus hoaxes like this one. What drives someone to do this?

Andrew Mark Miller reports at the Washington Examiner:

Campus police say racist notes found on college student’s car were put there himself

The Texas A&M University Police Department says its investigation into a black student finding racist notes on his car windshield concluded that he put them there himself.

Law enforcement officials at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, say that 21-year-old Isaih Martin, a senior at the school, called police on Wednesday afternoon to report handwritten notes places on his car with derogatory insults such as “All lives matter” and “You don’t belong here,” according to KBTX 3 News.

Authorities say there wasn’t a camera nearby that clearly showed what took place, but they allege a nearby surveillance video camera shows Martin walking toward his vehicle and appearing to place “white specks” on the car and then taking pictures of them. Other people were seen near the car but only for brief periods of time consisting of a few seconds.

The report states: “Martin immediately walks to the passenger side of his vehicle, but does not open any doors. Martin is seen toward the front of his vehicle. A brief white speck is seen from about mid-torso of Martin moving toward his vehicle. Another white speck is seen near his chest area. Martin is then seen stepping back and onto the sidewalk in front of his vehicle, most likely taking photos and videos. He then approaches his vehicle again on the passenger side and remains there for a few moments. He is then seen walking around the front of his vehicle. Martin then enters the driver’s door and drives away a few moments later. The total time spent at his vehicle is 1 minute, 15 seconds.”

Police believe no one else would have had the time to place the notes there but Martin.

Rusty Surette of KBTX News has more on this:

Texas A&M police say student who reported racist notes placed them there himself

In a report released to KBTX on Thursday, police at Texas A&M University said a student who reported finding racist notes on his car’s windshield last month may have placed the papers there himself. However, the 21-year-old at the center of the case strongly denies those claims.

Isaih Martin, a senior at A&M, called police on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 24, to report finding three handwritten notes on his car that said “All lives matter” and “You don’t belong here.” The third note contained the N-word…

“He was the only person with enough time to place the notes on his car,” said police.

KBTX has requested a copy of the video police used to make their conclusion but it was not released on Thursday along with the police report. The request for the video is still pending at this time and a university spokesperson did not immediately know the reason why it wasn’t released with the report.

“I am utterly disappointed,” said Martin on Thursday, in response to the conclusions of the police report.

Texas A&M released a statement about the incident in June, before the investigation was concluded:

Schools have to take incidents like this seriously, but all too often it ends up being a hoax in the end.

Have to fabricate hate crimes to keep the narrative alive.

    So right.

Muslims routinely pull the same sort of stunts.

Love Muslims, but hate Islam. People, and more and more of them, know there’s a difference between an odious idea, namely Islam itself, and those stuck in it. But duplicitous Muslim leaders routinely pull the trick that Islam is/are Muslims, and Muslims are Muslims. Thus, if you hate Islam, then you hate Muslims.

Which is sheer nonsense. If you don’t hate Islam, you’re not thinking.

      That’s what Psychopaths do.

For almost 20 years now I have noticed every time they have a terrorist attack, afterwards always send out their women in head coverings in public places trying to provoke.

Not enough hate crimes so they have to manufacture them.

He should be charged with a hate crime and filing a false report.

BLM has set race relations back

The diversity (e.g. racism, sexism, class-based “ism”) racket is a progressive condition.

Of course. Dog bites man. Again.

Racism is so prevalent it has to be manufactured by the
‘victim’.

OwenKellogg-Engineer | July 12, 2020 at 11:00 am

It’s a Supply and Demand issue. There isn’t enough supply of racism, so the left has to generate up fake events to fulfill their need for the supply side.

    UnCivilServant in reply to OwenKellogg-Engineer. | July 12, 2020 at 11:14 am

There’s plenty of racism, it just isn’t coming from the approved villains group and not targetting the approved victims groups.

I agree, from personal experience and observation, American blacks are the worst racists in America. Their conduct is so bad that they are probably driving a resurgence of groups like the KKK.

Eventually, Muslims will outdo blacks on racism, the Koran endorses this.

texansamurai | July 12, 2020 at 11:11 am

so “all lives matter” is now considered an insult/hate speech? guess missed the memo/email–simple syllogism: if ALL lives don’t matter, how can black lives possibly matter?

Has he been expelled yet, or has A&M administration surrendered to his demands?

FWIW – Texas A&M for the most part is the exact opposite of most schools which are dominated by left wing progressives. Its one of the few state schools in the country that is solid / semi-solid conservative. There are a few leftists professors, but middle of the road and conservatives dominate that campus.

      healthguyfsu in reply to Joe-dallas. | July 12, 2020 at 8:37 pm

And the question is…will they do something? Will they be the university with backbone that does more about this than just the standard probation??

Pathological narcissism and contrived, fallacious notions of alleged victimhood/perpetual grievance represent the animating principles of contemporary Dhimmi-crats, and, are the poison which they seek to spread throughout American society and institutions.

If it had been real, instead of a hoax, it would be proof of systemic racism and the need for more racial sensitivity training and more preferences.

Since it was a hoax, it proves the student felt unsafe, and therefore proves the existence of systemic racism and the need for more etc.

Why do people do this? Why wouldn’t they?

What drives someone to do this?

Just because America’s real white supremacists (we know they’re out there!!!) are too lazy to target the people they hate is no reason anyone should be deprived of the opportunity to be a victim for his allotted 15 minutes, you racist.

Poor little snowflake feels out of place in College Station? So he invents a race hoax to make himself feel better. Idiot.

Maybe he should look at himself and his choice of schools. Judging from the hair cut and the shirt he’s wearing, I’d guess he’s a liberal twat. Liberal twats are going to feel out of place at A&M. It has nothing to do with race. If you’re a redneck of a cowboy or an engineer, you’ll do just fine there. And if you think there aren’t black rednecks or cowboys (or engineers) in Texas, you don’t know Texas.

The initial allegation is suspicious, and deserved careful investigation:
Why was his the only car with the notes?
Did the car show any hint as to its owner’s race?
Why didn’t he call police to investigate the “crime scene” before driving away?

The student didn’t call the police…he posted about “the incident” with pics on his twitter account.

LEO heard about it and reached out to the student….(Opps!)

I don’t think the young man intended this to go beyond social media….!

We have fully inculcated and adopted victimhood as a value in our culture, and we use it as a substitute for merit. It also can have pecuniary and other social rewards.

Isn’t the police use of evidence racist behavior?
Isn’t evidence inherently racist?

Maybe I should check with my nearest Democrat/Marxist for confirmation.

The Friendly Grizzly | July 12, 2020 at 11:57 am

Anyone doing this sort of thing needs firing, expulsion, whatever. I don’t care about tenure or “that’s RAAAASISSSTTT!”

daniel_ream in reply to The Friendly Grizzly. | July 12, 2020 at 12:36 pm

This. It’s going to keep happening as long as there are no negative consequences.

The problem is that the university administrations don’t think it’s a problem – it gives them the opening to force more mandatory indoctrination classes on the undergrads and hire more useless staff.

Perhaps if the police started filing charges of filing a false police report every time it happened there would be downward pressure.

While some of these stunts are done to drive a specific narrative, most are done simply to gain personal attention and sympathy. In the last few decades, the easiest way to gain positive attention is to be granted victimhood. This has become tantamount to sainthood, in our current society. Once a person is officially declared a “victim” all of his sins are washed away. It is not only pathetic, but dangerous.

Then we have the idiots who immediately believe these people and tell the whole world about it. Only to find out that it was all a lie. More dangerous imbeciles, many in positions of responsibility.

The problem is that almost none of these people are held accountable. Community service does not cut it. They should have to reimburse the rest of us for wasting tax dollars to investigate this BS, then spend some time in jail. It is nothing more than fraud. And a dangerous fraud, at that.

Back in 2003 when Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with Ty Pennington first came out I had the initial impression that the homes were being built for people who were real-life heroes – who in order to care for others had sacrificed their own comfort. The pilot episode was a family who were making their own home improvements, but had to suspend that when their daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. I thought “worthy” at the time.

As the show went on, there were more and more people competing for a home reno and it seemed to me the stories quickly became more about “poor me” and victim-hood than about people facing difficult situations of self sacrifice for others. I remember tuning it out after the 1st or 2nd season because the sob-stories disgusted me.

Of course that’s hardly new – I was 9 when the old TV show “Queen for a Day” ended it’s original run – which was the same disgusting let’s celebrate the biggest victim / sad-sack format.

Maybe we ought to revive the ceremony from that old show? Per Wiki ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_for_a_Day ):

The winning contestant was selected by the audience using an applause meter; the harsher the contestant’s situation, the likelier the studio audience was to ring the applause meter’s highest level. The winner, to the musical accompaniment of “Pomp and Circumstance”, would be draped in a sable-trimmed red velvet robe, given a glittering jeweled crown to wear, placed on a velvet-upholstered throne, and handed a dozen long-stemmed roses to hold while her list of prizes was announced.

Might be a fun show – “Victim of the Day” or some such. 😉

There were definitely plenty of worthy people on there, so I don’t know what you watched. Regardless, the point of generosity is to provide unforced compassion and benevolence, regardless of whether it is deserved. I found it to be an uplifting show. I do not think the new version will do much more than try to be woke, though.

Any racist incident should be considered a hoax until proven true.

You’ll be right 99.99% of the time.

A few background facts about this incident:

1. TAMU president Michael Young is a Bush Republican, and as you might have guessed he is the very definition of spineless GOPe wimp. He rushed to condemn the “racist” incident before that facts were known (he even offered a $1200 reward), and after the findings by the UPD he issued a bland statement that still implied the notes were motivated by racial hate.

https://wtaw.com/reaction-after-texas-am-closes-hate-message-investigation-without-criminal-charges-or-university-penalties/

2. Unlike many university towns, the Bryan/College Station area is mostly Republican. Also unlike most universities the student body is not majority leftist (which is not the same as being conservative).

3. The non-leftist student body and community where A&M is found has created a siege mentality among faculty and administrators. I live and teach in the Bryan/College Station area (not at TAMU) and have occasional dealings with A&M faculty and administrators. Most of them (including supposedly non-political fields such as engineering and science) are stark-raving nuts who would be quite at home in Mao’s Red Guard. Not even at the supposedly leftist University of Texas at Austin, where I did some graduate work in the late 1980s, did I find a faculty as left-wing as A&M’s.

4. Even though there are a considerable number of conservative and Republican students at Texas A&am, there have been occasional efforts to get conservative and Republican organizations thrown off campus. This has been true since at least my undergraduate days at A&M in the early 1980s.

This isn’t hoax racism, this is real racism and a real hate crime. This guy Martin hates white people so much he’ll fabricate evidence and try to pin it on whitey. Sounds like a hate crime to me.

The Friendly Grizzly | July 12, 2020 at 5:01 pm

Don’t Those People have their own colleges they can attend?

• This guy’s a senior?
• He did not consider there might be security cameras?
• The college president fell for it?

Okay.

Lucifer Morningstar in reply to catservant. | July 14, 2020 at 12:19 pm

    • This guy’s a senior?

    Apparently.

    • He did not consider there might be security cameras?

There were cameras. But not really pointed at the vehicle when the “hate crime” was committed. The police are basing their conclusion on blurry video and the perpetrator is denying he did it though he has consulted a lawyer so wait for the lawsuit.

    • The college president fell for it?

Well, duh. Can you imagine the howls of outrage from the leftist students if the college president didn’t make some self-serving, hypocritical, lawyer written statement about how the college “doesn’t condone racism” and yah, yah, yah. He’d lose his job at the very least.

Now all we have to do is wait and see if the president of Texas A&M will amend his statement acknowledging that the “racist hate crime” was actually perpetrated by the black student who claimed victimhood.

Does he have a GoFundMe yet?

If people can claim that white southerners were racists then I can claim that blacks are racists also.

If racism were as pervasive as the Left would have everyone believe, they wouldn’t have to manufacture events such as these, would they? Have any of these so-called occurrences that have been reported at universities around the country actually been proven true or have they all been hoaxes/frauds/lies?

Must have studied the Jussie Smollett book on staging a racist attack .

Similar event occurred at one of our union meetings. Woman shows up late carrying a paper plate “sign” with racist wording she claims was at the entrance. Over a hundred people entered, she was the only one who saw it. Union and management spent hours watching surveillance video could find no evidence of any sign placed. Unhappy with that she called the white shop chairman a racist. He is married to a black woman, has black kids. Sign was made with crayons, later came out that her little kid drew it. Here she’s got a good job, good pay and benefits, but angling for more. The truth of opportunity and financial independence was hers but that was not good enough.

America has conquered racism like no other county, yet the Left keeps pounding that fake drum; keep it alive, keep it burning, dissent, disarray, chaos. This is how they poison our country. DemocRats = Death.
