Recent Harvard Grad Loses Job After Posting Video Threatening to Stab Anyone Who Says ‘All Lives Matter’

“I’ma stab you, and while you’re struggling and bleeding out, I’ma show you my paper cut and say, ‘My cut matters, too.’”

https://youtu.be/XKaAQU6qUDw

A recent Harvard grad has lost her job after posting a video to social media threatening to stab people for using the words “all lives matter.” After the video went viral and her employer cut her loose, she created more videos blaming Trump supporters for her situation.

Is this what an Ivy League education gets you these days?

Take a bow, Harvard.

Lee Brown and Aaron Feis report at the New York Post:

Harvard grad Claira Janover says she’s lost Deloitte job over TikTok ‘stab threat’

The Harvard graduate who said in a TikTok video that she would “stab” anyone who told her “All Lives Matter” revealed in a new pair of recordings that she has lost her job over the perceived threats and ensuing furor.

“Standing up for Black Lives Matter put me in a place online to be seen by millions of people,” a teary Claira Janover said in a new video posted Wednesday afternoon. “The job that I’d worked really hard to get and meant a lot to me has called me and fired me because of everything.”

Janover’s LinkedIn account lists her as an “incoming government and public business service analyst” at Deloitte, a UK-based accounting firm…

Janover — who graduated from Harvard in May with a degree in government and psychology — went viral after posting a video to the platform railing against people with “the nerve, the sheer entitled Caucasity to say ‘All Lives Matter.’”

“I’ma stab you,” the Connecticut native said in the video, zooming in tight on her face.

“I’ma stab you, and while you’re struggling and bleeding out, I’ma show you my paper cut and say, ‘My cut matters, too.’”

Here’s the original video:

In this follow up video after her firing, she says that her video was picked up by conservatives and that she lost the job she “worked really hard for.” She also says “this is what Trump supporters wanted.”

If you want to see more, here is a third video where she again blames Trump supporters for her current situation:

https://twitter.com/YofaceMeow/status/1278513655806648322

She may want to consider suing Harvard. She obviously didn’t learn much during her time there.

UPDATE: According to the Daily Mail, Deloitte says that Claira Janover was never even actually hired by them, but had an internship:

Harvard grad who blamed Trump supporters for getting her fired from ‘dream job’ at Deloitte after ‘All Lives Matter’ TikTok stab video did NOT work for accountancy firm

A Harvard graduate who claims she was fired from her ‘dream job’ at Deloitte after saying she’d ‘stab’ anyone who told her ‘all lives matter’ in a TikTok video was never actually employed by the firm, it has emerged.

Claira Janover, 22, tearfully claimed on Wednesday that supporters of Donald Trump ‘took my job away from me’ by calling for her firing, in response to the video.

In the clip, which has sharply divided people online, she threatens to ‘stab’ anyone who says ‘all lives matter’.

Deloitte, however, have confirmed that she was never an employee of the company.

Instead she was scheduled to complete an internship with them later this summer, which the company rescinded.

Jonathan Gandal, a managing director at the firm, said Janover ‘has never been an employee of our organization’.

He said she was instead ‘formerly scheduled for a two-week internship later this summer.’

Gandal said the offer of an internship was withdrawn because they have a company policy forbidding threatening violence.

This young woman obviously has some serious issues.

What a moron.

Asians have an average IQ of 106, it seems that she drew the short straw, and ended up on the “left” side of the curve. It would not surprise me if she was about 85 and feels at home with BLM.

She sure has screwed the pooch career wise, completely neutralized her Harvard degree.

        at that

The Tax and audit remain very good with Delloite along with the other national and regional firms.

The problem is the Big 4 plus the other national firms have added consulting lines of business to the firms. IN this case, the department is the political consulting branch (some variation of lobbying ) which is probably very lucrative to the firm.

Consulting services are extremely lucrative and what got
the Big 8 accounting firms in trouble legally the last time.

So much so they were legally forced to get rid of them.

It is unconsciable they are not hauled into Federal Court and sued to divest again.

As to her career earning potential, it may go up from this. She will be honored as a hero and martyr on the left.

I’ma stab you, and while you’re struggling and bleeding out

She’s lucky she didn’t actually try it. It’s not as easy as Hollywood portrays, to inflict a lethal stab wound — let alone one that would debilitate the victim right away.

If her target turned out to be armed in turn, she could have lost more than just her job.

“Is this what an Ivy League education gets you these days?”

It is an Ivy League degree. An Ivy League education is an oxymoron.

She claims victim status while being an aggressor.

Firing her for political speech was inappropriate.

On the other hand, this person is one of the stupidest things to walk the Earth. Maybe they really fired her for that?

    DanJ1 in reply to irv. | July 3, 2020 at 10:43 am

She could have gotten away with the political position. Any business that is aware of an employee making threats of stabbing people who may be other employees, is toxic and should be summarily released.
    .
If you think this is an over reaction by Deloitte, consider the school whose teacher saw a BB Gun in the background of a students room in a Zoom class. They had four police officers search the student’s home. For Lefties, that was okay.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to DanJ1. | July 3, 2020 at 5:53 pm

My takeaway is that the cops were willing to do the search on something so flimsy.

elliesmom in reply to irv. | July 3, 2020 at 10:46 am

This wasn’t over political speech. She threatened to kill her fellow employees. It’s not in a company’s best interest to dither over whether she’s serious or not.

DaveGinOly in reply to elliesmom. | July 3, 2020 at 11:48 am

She threatened no one. If you listen to what she said, it was allegorical. She was comparing the “stab” of the black experience in America to the “paper cut” suffered by everyone else’s life here (probably including her own – she seems to be privileged). Her statement was an expression of her view of the situation, it was not a threat.

Should she have been fired for what she said? Probably not. But in today’s PC/cancel culture environment, subtlety and subtext get thrown under the bus. As someone who dwells within such a culture, she should have expected such a backlash and should have known enough to tone down her rhetoric.

moonmoth in reply to DaveGinOly. | July 3, 2020 at 12:14 pm

What video wereyou listening to? She made a clear threat to stab anyone who said “All lives matter”. Her employer knows that the real world is not in a Harvard freshmen literature class, where the game is to look for hypothetical “allegorical” meanings in other’s speech. There can be dire legal consequences for retaining such employees.

CommoChief in reply to DaveGinOly. | July 3, 2020 at 1:19 pm

Dude, no. Just no. Any employer who is made aware of an employee making threats to harm themselves or others absolutely needs to take action. Just from a cold hearted liability standpoint if nothing else.

In this case she threatened to kill those who refuse to bow before the political ideology of BLM. That is not acceptable in any way. To say say that those of us who were taught to follow the teachings of MLK regarding equality, judging individuals by character vs appearance deserve to be killed is beyond the pale.

Every person is unique. Every life is precious to the creator. BLM, like all Marxist movements, seeks to subordinate the individual to the collective. Thus, devaluing the ultimate minority, the minority of one single individual.

Our entire western cultural inheritance and experience demonstrates the truth of the importance of individual rights vs collective rights.

“I’ma stab you, and while you’re struggling and bleeding out, I’ma show you my paper cut and say, ‘My cut matters, too.’”

        Allegorical, schmallegorical.

Lexico-Oxford online defines “I’ma” as “I’m going to”.

        https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/i'ma

Unless I misunderstand the generalized, legal definition of the tort or crime (depending on the jurisdiction) of assault, it is a) a clear, express or necessarily implied statement of the will of one, or b) the actual confronting by one of an evident demonstration of the capability to carry out the offense toward another, or c) both a) and b) and to do another physical harm constitutes said offense.

The above, standardly analyzed understanding of PHG-NDL’s (Poor Harvard Grad, not Deloitte’s Loss) general and impersonal, wild-eyed, fangs-out — all indicator’s of a floridly acute psychosis, having been stated as a class-threat, rather than one to any one, specific individual or more — and maniacally menacing, graphic and depraved statement meets the definition of assault, found above in a).

Therefore, at least to my way of thinking, given that Deloitte knows a likely risk to its assets when they see one and, acting sensibly and responsibly, they cut her loose in short order. “Go assault, a-hem, the world, as it were, elsewhere, please” they pretty much said might have essentially said in their politely British tone.

In sum, you grant her too much slack, DGO, more than she evidently merits.

GatorGuy in reply to GatorGuy. | July 4, 2020 at 11:16 am

          Corrections, please:

Unless I misunderstand the generalized, legal definition of the tort or crime (depending on the jurisdiction) of assault, said offense is constituted by a) a clear, express or necessarily implied statement of the will or intention of one, or b) the actual confronting by one of an evident demonstration of the capability to carry out the offense toward another, or c) both a) and b), and to do another physical harm.

GatorGuy in reply to GatorGuy. | July 4, 2020 at 11:26 am

For goodness sake, just once more, please, in case it still matters:

Unless I misunderstand the generalized, legal definition of the tort or crime (depending on the jurisdiction) of assault, said offense is constituted by a) a clear, express or necessarily implied statement of the will or intention of one, or b) the actual confronting by one of an evident demonstration of the capability to carry out such offense toward another, or c) both a) and b), and either with or without (again, depending on the jurisdiction) the actual doing of physical harm to another receiving the clear or physically capable threat, or both.

I could accept that she was just running her mouth and that she would probably never actually try to stab someone.

But I don’t think she was fired for her political speech.

She was fired because the company can’t take the chance that she may be the one nut to actually try to stab someone or use physical force against someone. Either against another employee or a client. Once she went public with her threat to stab someone over political issues the company is on notice and their potential liability, if she did something at work, went off the charts.

They also probably don’t want someone like her working for them because what if one of the clients of the company says or does something her little leftist brain can’t handle? Now she flips out and starts trouble within the company.

Company probably said she’s new and the future headaches are not worth it. Fire her.

And I’m having a good chuckle over a rare instance of a lefty being canceled. Seems lately it’s only the right getting canceled from employment.

She should be OVERJOYED that she was not treated differently than SHE would have wanted someone treated had they posted material reflecting a POV in the opposite direction.

This is the EQUALITY she wants, which she now has gotten, EQUALITY of results.

I don’t understand why she is upset.

maxmillion in reply to irv. | July 3, 2020 at 10:57 am

To the extent this was “political speech,” it was inappropriate political speech. I submit this was more in the nature of performance art, and it fails at that too.

My sympathy is all that it should be, considering people are routinely fired for saying “All lives matter” with wild applause from Communists. Punishing people for non-Communist political speech has been with us for some time.

This little darling’s problem is that she got a tiny bit ahead of the curve. In a few years it will be mandatory for everyone to publicly express views like hers (see Mao’s Cultural Revolution).

Massinsanity in reply to irv. | July 3, 2020 at 11:21 am

If you watch the whole video the point she was trying to make was that white people saying ALM is equivalent to complaining about a paper cut while BLM is the rallying cry for people who have been figuratively stabbed by the system.

So I honestly don’t think she was advocating violence only trying to make a point. A dumb point, but a point nonetheless.

The problem is social media and video platforms like Tik Tok… the only way to get noticed (i.e. followers and likes) is to go to extremes as she did in an attempt to make her point. If she has simply stated her analogy rather than act it out and shout about stabbing and struggling and bleeding out it would have been fine but no one would have noticed.

Think of the thousands of deserving high school grads who wanted to go to Harvard but didn’t get in. Now think about how she wasted their spot. She probably wasted a lot of grant money and scholarship money too. Psychology and Government is not the kind of degree that people spending their own good money strive for. My guess is that nobody worked too hard for her to attend Harvard. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have thrown it away so easily.

I view a Harvard degree as a punishment. Imagine someone having to pay gigantic sums of money for the “privilege” of being forced to listen to Khmer Rouge-wannabes self-righteously lecturing you for four years and demanding you recite word-for-word their genocidal propaganda. You might obtain the credentials needed to land sweet high-paying jobs in government and “woke” corporations, but you run the risk of losing your soul and your reason.

And the history of Communist revolutions clearly shows that this kind of leftist privilege makes you Target #1 when a Stalin or Mao or Castro comes along. So along with losing their souls and reason, Harvard graduates stand a good chance of losing their lives when their genocidal dreams come true and the Communists get the power of live and death over all of us. Not much of a bargain.

    rabidfox in reply to DanJ1. | July 3, 2020 at 11:18 am

I wonder how many of the deserving HS grads that wanted to get into Harvard are now thanking their lucky stars that they DIDN’T get in, given what a Harvard (or any other Ivy) is shown to teach. It doesn’t take a hundred thousand or so dollars to learn to be a moron.

Ms. Janover, as a recent Harvard grad, very likely held the belief that “rules are for little people”.

She just didn’t realize that she’s one of the little people.

Congrats, Ms. Janover. You could have nestled yourself into the life of an apparatchik at Deloitte. Over time you could have slurped your way up to being a card-carrying member of the nomenklatura. You would have had a handsome salary, plenty of perks, travel, and numerous opportunities to further the revolution. You would have networked yourself into some position of power.

Instead you’re unemployed and perhaps for a little while, unemployable. You’re a little person now, just another piece of the lumpen proletariat. And you just discovered what happens to them.

Fun, eh?

Her bitter tears made my covfefe taste sooooo good this morning!

Harvard is doing a bang up job in education; not.

I will be sure to keep the analogy in mind mind should it prove necessary in the future, as in;

‘ When in the course of ….. it becomes necessary….

What a maroon. Look, some people are simply TDSTL [Too D**n Stupid To Live] and it seems to be a largely liberal condition. These are the same people who try to block hurtling 18-wheelers on the interstate, stand in front of cars and threaten the occupants and drop lit Molotov Cocktails at their own feet.

This woman posted a nationwide video threatening to violently assault anyone who used a specific innocuous term. What if, knowing she had done that, her employer took no action and allowed her to return to the workplace, where she carried out that threat. Does the term crushing civil liability ring z bell? So, she got fired. Surprise, surprise, surprise. She wanted people to notice her and she got noticed. Welcome to the world of unintended, though foreseeable, consequences.

She’s not bright, and Deloitte didn’t have to consult a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon. To oppose “All Lives Matter” in today’s climate infers that ONLY “Black Lives Matter.” She doesn’t look Black to me, so she is practically giving herself a “Do Not Resuscitate and Come And Get Me” order. Another drop added to the ocean of insanity.

“Is this what an Ivy League education gets you these days?”

It is the epitome of what an Ivy League education is. No American looking to hire should hire anyone with an Ivy League education, with the possible exception of STEM graduates, and the STEM graduates need to have their social media background thoroughly checked with the default being rejection if anything strange comes up.

The Ivy League is not worth the damage they cause in the real world.

I do not look forward to the ensuing zero sum cancel wars, but alas, they’ve already begun.

It is an enjoyable dose of schadenfreude to see the left get a taste of their own medicine. However, her case is not only escalated to threats of violence, it also shows an extreme lack of self-awareness, internal reflection, or remorse. I’m not at all surprised that the left continues to lower the standards of the social fabric of this country.

Within a certain amount of time an employer can let the employee know that this is not going to work out.

Maybe Harvard should have taught her how to say “Would you like fries with that?”

Avoid abstract ideas – appeal to the emotions.

She’s a fraud. According to a statement released by Deloitte she wasn’t an employee and was only going to be at the firm for a two-week Summer internship. From what I’ve read she had, at best, a job offer from Deloitte. Not actual employment with the company.

Also her TikTok profile page states she’s “Harvard ’21” which would imply that she’s graduating in 2021. So why is everyone calling her a “Harvard graduate” if she doesn’t graduate until next year.
