Yale Professor Claims Trump Response to Coronavirus Pandemic is ‘Close to Genocide’

“I am being serious here”

Dr. Gregg Gonsalves is a professor of epidemiology at Yale University. He recently suggested on social media that Trump’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic is “close to genocide.”

This is Alex Jones level rhetoric, coming from an Ivy League professor.

Professor Jonathan Turley of George Washington University writes at his blog:

“I Am Being Serious Here”: Yale Professor Denounces Trump For “Genocide” In Response To The Pandemic

In the last three years, various experts have made what they called dispositive cases for crimes by President Donald Trump ranging from hate crimes to treason to inciting violence. Now Yale University Professor of Epidemiology Dr. Gregg Gonsalves is adding genocide.

Gonsalves is upset with what he views as the “delayed” response by the Trump Administration to the pandemic. That is certainly a legitimate viewpoint that is shared by many and people of good faith can disagree on when the Administration should have acted. However Gonsalves insists that such a failure to respond a couple weeks earlier is “awfully close to genocide.”

It is is neither genocide nor close to genocide, but Gonsalves later doubled down to make sure that people understood that this is not just hyperbole but he was “being serious here.” He further suggests that this genocidal strategy could be tied to killing minority voters before the election. Gonsalves has appeared widely as an expert in coverage by CNN, NBC, Politico, Foreign Policy magazine, The Washington Post, and other media outlets.

See the screen-capped tweets below:

While doing research for this post, I found the video below. Professor Gonsalves is apparently a 2018 Fellow of the MacArthur Foundation. In this video, he clearly indicates that he considers himself as much an activist as an academic.

He also makes more than one reference to his commitment to social justice and states that one of his goals is to influence politicians and policy makers. Take a look:

Only Democrat Party Progressive Leftists can
Make Alex Jones look positively mainstream!

What an intercoursing rectal sphincter….

Dr. Greg is an ignoramus.

He doesn’t even know recent history that’s relevant to him.

Fauci, after years and years of delay, approved the most toxic drug, with the most horrendous side effects, that was also the most expensive drug ever introduced in history. Why is this relevant? Because it was the drug ATZ.

2smartforlibs | May 14, 2020 at 1:12 pm

I guess it no longer takes an IQ to be a prof.

    I have a quibble – “no longer”??

    Albigensian in reply to 2smartforlibs. | May 15, 2020 at 5:31 pm

I’d guess he may well have the required IQ. Or not (it would hardly be surprising if the hiring committee selected him for his activism and not so much for his scholarship). Who knows?

The real problem here is someone who is apparently unable to separate political activism from “scholarship.”

Although I suppose at the further reaches of progressivism the distinction between the two disappears, as scholarship (pseudo or real) has value only to the extent that it can be mobilized to further favored political narratives and objectives.

A campus culture in which many no longer see a need to maintain any distinction between activism and scholarship is like a newspaper that no longer sees any need to distinguish between opinion and fact: the newspaper surely has a right to publish just as the college has a right to teach, but, no taxpayer should ever be forced to pay for this.

He’s a Yale professor? How convenient. Let me introduce him to a fellow Yale professor, Bandy X Lee. I’m sure they’ll get along famously.

Professor Gonsalves is apparently a 2018 Fellow of the MacArthur Foundation.

That’s popularly known as the “genius grant”. Some genius. They should ask for their money back.

He further suggests that this genocidal strategy could be tied to killing minority voters before the election.

Such as Orthodox Jews, who are overwhelmingly Trump supporters?

I Am Being Serious Here
If you are, then you are in serious need of psychological help. Of the thorazine and funny white coats sort.
But, I think you are not. You’re just a grandstanding attention whore (note the t-shirt). Congratulations, you got your attention.

Gonsalves has appeared widely as an expert
And yet, he is, as notamember says, an ignoramus. Please, PLEASE, let this be the death of the Cult of Expertise.

What else do you call mass death by public policy?
Communism?

what does it mean to let thousands die by negligence, omission, failure to act, in a legal sense under international law?
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There is no such thing as “negligent homicide” in international law. The fact you don’t know or don’t care to inform others of that simply reinforces the “lunatic” and “ignormaus” labels. And adds “asshole activist.”

I wonder if this guy was speaking out all of February, telling us about the error of our ways? I should check, but if he wasn’t, he should shut the fuck up now.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital | May 14, 2020 at 1:34 pm

Here is a Real expert.

“This will teach those Islamophobes that Islam is a religion of peace: a professor is facing death threats for suggesting otherwise. Nicholas Damask, Ph.D., has taught political science at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona for 24 years. But now he is facing a barrage of threats, and his family, including his 9-year-old grandson and 85-year-old parents, is in hiding, while College officials are demanding that he apologize – all for the crime of speaking the truth about the motivating ideology behind the threat of Islamic jihad worldwide……”

Ace of Spades

When Trump initiated the travel ban, the USA had one case. Did this professor cheer the travel band? I would like to see the evidence.
A couple weeks lost..at the time Fauci was advising Trump the virus was no big deal..?
Trump was somehow aware in late January that blacks are more susceptible to the virus, even though none had as yet contracted C-19? But they are not. People with diabetes, over-weight, high blood pressure and asthmatic are more susceptible. Being black is not a risk. In fact it appears there is a genetic link to a catastrophic coronavirus response among certain individuals. The cases are rare, involve the young, and are being studied…the victims have been exclusively white, to date.

“He’s a scientist who uses science and stuff, so this must be taken seriously”. — High self-esteem, IQ challenged, Dem drone. Possibly a journalist.

Gotta love his name: “Gonsalves” – meaning “goon slaves”?

The lunatic hacks coming out of Yale are making Yale look like oberlin.

So once more my counterintuitive take:

The ‘establishment’ hates PDJT, and by extension us, because his election for the first time in a very long time, placed a true outsider in the WH. PDJT is the opposite of a globalist and the ‘establishment’ is well aware that he is going to make every attempt to kick over their sand castle.

Many of us suspected that these establishment, whether in government, media, academia harbored the views expressed by Obama as ‘bitter clingers’ or HRC as ‘deplorables’. We saw occasional mask slipping. With the election of PDJT there is no longer any pretense on their part. The establishment is full throated and unabashed in their opposition. The whole collusion crap and the impeachment and theater surrounding both SCOTUS appointments let the cat of the bag.

Now we have whacky theories from academics, researchers, the media and of course the d party about covid. They are doing this in public not behind the doors of some conference for the elite. No it is all in the open. That is a good thing.

Most of the readers here pay some level of attention to all this and are already aware of it. Many folks, sadly do not pay attention in normal circumstances. Well, with the lockdown we are not in normal circumstances. Folks now have the time and inclination to pay attention when their governor continues to keep them at home and their businesses are going broke and if previously employed now are prevented from going to work.

These so called progressives are writing checks they can’t cash. In mid June, if the red states which opened up are successful in bringing down hospitalization and covid death what will the residents of blue states still on lockdown think? Will they rise in armed rebellion? No, I hope not but they may just use the handy ballots that got mailed out. Use them to vote for PDJT and perhaps a straight r ticket.

We will certainly find out.

The bottom line is that this doofus would never have gotten a job at Yale without affirmative action. He’s in debt to his handlers, and like similar hollywood idiots, he’s spewing ChiComm poison.

Always follow the money. Especially with leftists.

Professor Gonsalves has a long history of extremist politics:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregg_Gonsalves

“Gregg Gonsalves is a global health activist…”

Of course he is.

“He began working with the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) in 1990…”

The lunatic extremism of ACT UP has been well documented.

“He found out he was HIV+ in 1995…”

So he continued to engage in risky behavior even after he knew about the danger?

“In 2000, Gonsalves went on to join Gay Men’s Health Crisis…”

I have encountered those loonies. A bunch of pushy zealots.

just remember the progressives are master of projection, that is something to remember. it is genocide but not being done by the republicans, the democratic governors have done a number on the senior citizens in nursing homes, Florida and Arizona have probably a higher density of senior citizen than ny, pa or il but no where near the death count. how about the pa democrat that took her mother out of a nursing home and gave the lame excuse.

Wait till he finds out about Cuomo’s handling of covid patients in NY nursing homes!

Remember when “activists” were screaming that AIDS was genocide?

Close The Fed | May 14, 2020 at 2:30 pm

So when does he suggest a “War Crimes” tribunal against New York Gov. Cuomo — who didn’t by OMISSION kill older New Yorkers, but did it by COMMISSION — Ordering those with the Disease to Be Housed in Nursing Homes with Those WITHOUT the Disease?

When does he suggest a similar international criminal investigation into the Pennsylvania Health Whatever, that removed his Mother from an Assisted Living Facility, while ordering that the sick be admitted into nursing homes?

Log in your own eye, much?

Get real, useless assinine hypocrite.

Besides, he’s HIV positive. I’ll bet my bottom dollar he didn’t do anything to PREVENT that, although with prophylaxis it’s probably VERY preventable.

How many people has HE infected, knowingly? He ought to be asked.

The virus from Wuhan, as HIV before it, is a hygienic and ideological bigot. People… persons should wash their hands, withdraw from social liberal club, and avoid black holes (e.g. trans/homos).

Allegations of diversity require extraordinary proof. That said, social (i.e. relativistic) justice anywhere in injustice everywhere. We should be wary of indulging liberal license to color people.

Generally speaking, genocide does not necessarily mean the immediate destruction of a nation, except when accomplished by mass killings of all members of a nation. It is intended rather to signify a coordinated plan of different actions aimed at the destruction of essential foundations of the life of national groups, with the aim of annihilating the groups themselves. Close the abortion chambers, the Mengele clinics. Stop normalizing evolutionary dysfunction (her Choice, not Her Choice unless the virus from Wuhan is an anthropogenic forcing). Separation of Progressive Church and State. #HateLovesAbortion

He’s a walking Level 4 biohazard himself.

This is the written equivalent of jumping up and down shouting, “Look at me! Look at me!”

On the left, saying outrageous things is like wearing gang colors. It’s just a way of being recognized.

The content has no significance. It’s not even supposed to mean anything. It’s only intended to elicit applause.

Get your butt back in lab and solve the problem, I’d wager he hasn’t been in a lab in years, maybe decades.

He really is a walking, talking, low hanging fruit, but joke.

It does remind me of when a Spanish colleague told us that his friend from “Jale” was coming for a visit. Diversity is always a good source of humor.

I read the headline,saw the t-shirt…

I didn’t want to waste time reading what he had to say…

How was Trump going to act when he wasn’t told it was contagious after thousands of infected had already landed in the US.

Listen, this is all conjecture- until we get the definitive answer from high school dropout weird little Gretchen (or whatever her name is).

“Genocide“ has lost all meaning.

Milhouse in reply to Sally MJ. | May 15, 2020 at 12:43 am

Yeah, that happened a while back.

I never did understand why it’s worse to murder people because of their race than for any other reason.

Well, OK, I do understand that murdering people because of their membership in a larger set of people harms all those other people too, by putting them all in fear of the same thing happening to them; whereas murdering people for reasons specific to those people harms nobody outside their immediate circles. But that applies whether the set’s defining characteristic is race or taste in music or anything else.

I just saw a piece on The Ingraham Angle where a TX doctor was giving Hydroxychloroquine + Azithromycin + Zinc to patients who rapidly improved. A couple of days ago, NYU (Langone) medical center released a study that showed a 44% reduction in the death rate from that regimen, which isn’t even its best application (not very sick patients required to be in the hospital). Trump mentioned HCQ very early. Perhaps this professor should be more careful with his accusations?

Degrees and intelligence are not synonymous.

George_Kaplan | May 15, 2020 at 2:25 am

On the basis of this academic’s logic shouldn’t various Democrat governors and officials be charged with crimes against humanity? They deliberately put carriers in nursing homes and prohibited their relocation to medical facilities which has needlessly led to tens of thousands of deaths.

I agree, especially since they “knew” from the first, widely-publicized major outbreak in the USA in a WA nursing home exactly how dangerous it was to those folks. Does “sovereign immunity” protect them from huge lawsuits? Another class of victims are those recently diagnosed with cancer who can’t get “elective” surgery. Stage 2 going to 4 because of the delay is a death sentence.

Evidently these must be some fellow genius award winners too.

63 year old Pro-Refugee Activist Murdered by (19 year old) Migrant He Was Sleeping With

…..similar story took place last year where a promising medical student and pro-migrant activist, also from Normandy, was stabbed to death by a migrant she was reportedly housing,” reports National File.

Back in 2016, it was revealed that open borders activists were sleeping with refugees, some of them children, at the Calais migrant camp.

After he was anally raped by a Somalian migrant in 2016, Norwegian refugee activist Karsten Nordal Hauken said he felt ‘guilt and responsibility’ that the migrant was deported for his crime.

Based on the deranged hooting of this dolt, I’d have to classify charging for a Yale education as “close to Grand Theft”.

So what where the Democrats doing in Jan and Feb? Come on genius, tell us?

He says he’s being serious, but its just another case of TDS.

The proudly worn T-Shirt says it all.

Saying “I’m serious” doesn’t make it so and obliges nobody to actually take you seriously.

healthguyfsu | May 15, 2020 at 4:43 pm

I wonder if Bandy Lee has any analysis on his psyche.

Gregg Gonsalves, HIV positive in the mid 90’s, didn’t use protective devices then and failed but he wants to lecture others about Kung Flu? Sorry but he doesn’t have good enough credentials to lecture anybody about anything healthcare related – he failed at that back in the 90’s.
