Pep Talk Cancelled, Read This Trump Letter to Schumer Instead

Pep Talk Cancelled, Read This Trump Letter to Schumer Instead

“If you spent less time on your ridiculous impeachment hoax … and instead focused on helping the people of New York, then New York would not have been so completely unprepared …. You have been missing in action, except when it comes to the “press.”

https://twitter.com/LighttacLLC/status/955518764128309250

So, tonight was going to be a thought piece, a way to put what is going on in context, to raise readers’ spirits, to bring a ray of light into the dark alley in which we are trapped.

I’ve done these Pep Talks before.

PLANS CANCELLED

I’ll get to that thought piece, but for tonight, Donald Trump did it for me with a letter to Chuck Schumer.

You may recall that the most dangerous place on earth, Bob Dole wisely observed, is between Chuck Schumer and the TV cameras.

And Chuck has been in front of TV cameras, and writing nastygrams to Trump over shortages of medical supplies in New York State, and calling for a military person to take over supply procurement at the federal level:

Initially, Trump responded on Twitter.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1245696907718078465

Trump also just responded in a letter, which reads in part:

Thank you for your Democrat public relations letter and incorrect sound bites, which are wrong in every way” …

* * *

4. We have given New York many things, including hospitals, medical centers, medical supplies, record numbers of ventilators, and more. You should have had New York much better prepared than you did, and as Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx said yesterday, New York was very late in its fight against the virus. As you are aware, the Federal Government is merely a back-up for state governments. Unfortunately, your state needed far more of a back-up than most others.

So far, so true.

Now the best:

If you spent less time on your ridiculous impeachment hoax, which went haplessly on forever and ended up going nowhere (except increasing my poll numbers), and instead focused on helping the people of New York, then New York would not have been so completely unprepared for the “invisible enemy.” No wonder AOC and others are thinking about running against you in the primary. If they did, they would likely win.

Fortunately, we have been working with your state and city governments, Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill DeBlasio, to get the job done.  You have been missing in action, except when it comes to the “press.” While you have stated that you don’t like Andrew Cuomo, you ought to start working alongside him for the good of all New Yorkers.

I’ve known you for many years, but I never knew how bad a Senator you are for the state of New York, until I became President.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/letter-president-donald-j-trump-senator-charles-e-schumer/

Has that pepped you up?

When people are under constant attack by the Chuck Schumers of the world — and we all are in our own ways — having someone who punches back is a pretty good pep talk.

Trump fights back, unlike previous prominent Republicans like Romney or the Bushes. Thank you, President Trump.

Many Democrats assume that Trump is the cause of Pub outrage against partisan media and Democrat politicians, but Trump is instead the result of Pub outrage against partisan media and Democrat politicians. Trump was not my first choice for the 2016 nomination, but I warmed to him as I saw that when people I considered to by my political enemies attacked Trump- and Trump fought back.

    HEAR HEAR!!!!!!

I’ll have a double helping of what PostLiberal is having!

    Very Funny Professor (ROFLMAO)

“Bob Dole wisely observed, is between Chuck Schumer and the TV cameras.”

    Exactly.
Trump was never among my top choices either.
I was leery of his showmanship (was he running for PR?, I thought)
I was leery of his possible politics (got on famously with NY State and NY City Dems)
I was leery of his business practices (how do you make money in a Dem-run city as a real estate developer without being a crook, I thought)
I couldn’t vote for (crooked) Hillary, but I didn’t vote for Trump either.

But, the more the Dems demonized him, the more I liked him.
He’s like US Grant, whatever his character flaws, he fights.
He’s bold bright colors, not pale pastels, as Reagan might put it.
He actually tries to do what he promises, as shown by Jerusalem, doing what every other president for decades only said they’d do, before letting the silk britches brigade talk them out of it.
And after undergoing a forensic exam more thorough than 99% of politicians could (imho) endure,
The Dem lynch mob were the ones who came out looking like crooks.

It won’t affect the results any, being as I live in Monopoly-Dem NY, but he’s got my vote this November.
He still looks better than heir-apparent Hillary, (communist) socialist Bernie, or crazy perky uncle Joe.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to BobM. | April 2, 2020 at 11:38 pm

RE: “But, the more the Dems demonized him, the more I liked him.”

There are tens of millions more that can join you in saying that.

Exactly. Trump convinced me against my will. While I’ve changed my mind before when more information became available, I don’t remember anybody ever persuading me when I didn’t want to be persuaded.

Hopefully enough millions to get him re-elected. I shudder to think of the havoc that Uncle Joe would wreak by having his cronies in there. You know, like the “Ebola czar” whose primary credentials were being Biden’s Chief of Staff and a Democrat campaigner for years.

Antifundamentalist in reply to BobM. | April 3, 2020 at 8:40 am

I don’t like Trump. I voted independent in 2016. I still don’t particularly like Trump. However, I do plan to vote for him in November. The media frenzy has shown me that any other course of action is ill advised.

SpeakUpNow in reply to BobM. | April 3, 2020 at 4:26 pm

I totally agree. I reluctantly voted for Trump as the thought of having to see Hilary on TV every day was more than I could bear. But almost immediately he turned out to be better than I expected. He actually followed through or at least tried to follow through on nearly every campaign promise.

    “Trump fights back…”

    WHAT AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!!!!!!

President Trump was my first choice. My only choice. I bought my first Make America Great Again hat in 2015 !! I was fortunate to see early on what you have come to see yourself. That and more.

TheOldZombie in reply to PostLiberal. | April 3, 2020 at 4:49 am

Yes. This is what has been holding back the GOP for so long. The absolute refusal to bare knuckle fight the Democrats.

      herm2416 in reply to TheOldZombie. | April 3, 2020 at 9:39 am

They don’t bare knuckle fight because they agree with the Dems. If the Dems win, the Reps hide behind their skirts. If the Reps win, they “can’t pass things without Dem support.”
It doesn’t matter who wins, Dems always have the power.

Sandman in reply to PostLiberal. | April 3, 2020 at 7:06 am

Wow! All that’s missing is the Batman-like POW! BIFF! BLAMMO! visual effects! The American Left isn’t used to Republicans who fight back, and this letter from Trump was, well, classic Trump – the street fighter from Queens.

    POW!

The world revolves around New York to the “New Yorkers”. You know who I’m talking about…not every person within the borders, but the ignorant slob snobs that think they are kings of the universe because of their latitude and longitude.

The rest of the country is tired of hearing it as is the rest of the world. The world within New York should revolve around fixing their bloated budget, then they can talk about greatness.

They could have stockpiled for more emergencies but instead they passed free college plans and spent on other pet lefty causes.

NY CITY, not New York State. Some of us live far outside the city and get tired of being lumped in with the downstate people.

SeekingRationalThought in reply to irv. | April 2, 2020 at 10:57 pm

Having grown up in Downstate Illinois, I feel your pain.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to irv. | April 2, 2020 at 10:58 pm

      You have our deepest condolences……..

healthguyfsu in reply to irv. | April 2, 2020 at 11:26 pm

Hi irv, I specifically excepted it to not all people who live within the borders (even from the city I’ve known a few non-snobs). Just like here in Virginia, not all of us are a bunch of snobby NoVa self-absorbed elitists that turned Richmond into a gun-grabbing, welfare expanding, SJW fest. There’s still a lot of great people in the rural west and the military-friendly southeast of the state.

“New Yorkers” in quotes means the d-bags going around talking about it all the time like it makes them:
      A. Tough
      2. Wise
      D. Superior in every imaginable way

Neo in reply to irv. | April 3, 2020 at 9:20 am

It’s like watching the national election results, knowing that your Congressional district is just as big as those in NYC or Philly, and they only give the city results.

TrickyRicky in reply to irv. | April 3, 2020 at 10:40 am

Ditto from this lifelong Colorado resident who can barely recognize the place politically. The Denver-Boulder-Fort Collins vortex has dragged my beloved state into the sewer with California.

ROTONDARON in reply to irv. | April 3, 2020 at 1:25 pm

Chicago gave us “Barak Hussein Obama”…{ Muslim form Kenya}….{AKA}….Bath House Barry, Blagoyavich, now, Rahm Emmanuel…..Where do all these blood-sucking evil, Demoncrats, come from & why do they “thrive” in the Chicago Ill. snake pit of politics? is the Ill. Electorate…really that stupid, & un-caring about who runs their political bailiwick?

But the NYCers are fleeing to the Hamptons, at least those elite who think, to paraphrase one of my father’s terms, “Their feces aren’t fragrant”, but using words beginning with S instead of F. Apparently they think thier spit don’t spread.

Their sacrifices to Gaia (banning unholy plastics), Molech (Abortion past birth), and whomever the Social Justice Warrior God (Themis minus the scales but with a diversity quota?) did not protect them.

The elite may be immune to legal jeopardy, but not to the Wu Flew. Is it un-PC to now refer to the city as Wu-York?

healthguyfsu in reply to tz. | April 3, 2020 at 10:17 am

Some F words are definitely useful in describing this demographic.

farmermom in reply to tz. | April 3, 2020 at 1:21 pm

Don’t forget attempting to ban fossil fuels! And now, only a few short months after banning a natural gas pipeline, attacking the natural gas companies because there is a shortage!
Some of us have not forgotten that King Andrew’s father shut down the Shoreham nuclear power plant AFTER it was built and ready to go simply by his intransigence!

Not just the self-centeredness, but the fact that a vast amount of the media lives there, too. So, they constantly pour forth that self-centeredness to the rest of the world, and distort the view of the entire nation.

Chuckles Schumer is an opportunist who thinks he can stir things up then slink off to the side and give his smarmy smile. Fortunately, President Trump called him out for his underhanded methods.

Chuckles talks. That’s about it. He has made a lot of promises through the years, yet rarely – if ever – does he deliver.

I’m fired up! After all that bashing the best part of the whole letter is “Sincerely yours,” you just have to love DJT.

That’s a good letter…

I’ve watched some of Cuomo’s pressers and he was whining how he needed 30,000 ventilators NOW. But,once they were over the hump in cases, he promised to send them along to other states.

How many people really believe that…. he’ll make an excuse that they need them for the next wave.

He also got a bunch of the quinine drug combo – so if administered correctly, the people should avoid the hospital and recover sooner. I wonder if that’s been factored in the models.

Would Trump PLEASE embarrass Jay Inslee to the nation. Trump invoked the emergency declaration for extending UI benefits to contractors back on 3/22.

They could have started sending those checks the following Monday.

Today Jay Inslee is at least 3 weeks away from even being able to allow contractors to file for these benefits.

Bitch slapped in public!

Could she please investigate Governor Jay Inslee for not paying out the God damned benefits for a month after Trump approved them????????

Dantzig93101 | April 2, 2020 at 11:00 pm

Contrary to what campus snowflakes believe, words will never hurt Schumer. That’s not fighting back.

Enough is enough.

The democrats couldn’t put aside petty partisanship even during a national crisis. Decades in office and what does NY have to show for schumer’s time? President Donald J. Trump not only created a whole new paradigm for dealing with this type of crises, he had many deficits to overcome going in. Many of those deficits were caused by old style politicians. chuck could have rolled up his sleeves and pitched in on this historic effort. Instead, he drew out a scathing letter from the Presidet of the United States that will forever be a part of the historical record and part of schumer’s failed legacy.

healthguyfsu in reply to CKYoung. | April 2, 2020 at 11:29 pm

They have a pretty large deficit, but that’s more of the entire crazy cabal than just worthless chuckwagon himself.

Eastwood Ravine | April 2, 2020 at 11:25 pm

The last two sentences in Trump’s letter to Chuck-you Schumer are referred to as “twisting the knife”.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to Eastwood Ravine. | April 2, 2020 at 11:42 pm

And that twist has been earned millions of times by millions of traitorous acts imo…

RE: “I’ve known you for many years, but I never knew how bad a Senator you are for the state of New York, until I became President.”

SaguaroJack49 | April 3, 2020 at 12:39 am

My favorite line is how Schumer is raising Trump’s poll numbers.

The American media runs the democrat party, including schumer.

If PDJT thinks this letter means anything other than for history, he’s deluded. But, I’m sure he knows better.

We are at war, gang.

This is a completely random observation, but the 20515 zip code is for the House of Representatives. The Senate’s is 20510. Wondering if using 20515 was a clerical error or intentional.

are they going to go after the SEIU for profiteering during a crisis for selling face mask for 5 dollars, when they cost about a dollar?

what do you want, Pelosi turned him into an eunuch

Good. Call a spade a spade, and Schumer an AWOL putz.

Nobody can win if he only plays defense.

2smartforlibs | April 3, 2020 at 6:42 am

Why does Chuck YOu think he has any power at all. I think the recovery bill proves he can’t go to the bathroom without San Fran Nan

If someone could assemble the negative traits of scheming politicians into one or two examples, you would wind up with UpChuck and Nasty Nancy.

OUCH! But it is New Yorker v.s. New Yorker. I expect the WWE meme to reappear with Schumer instead of CNN.

I wonder if there is a similar letter ready to go to Madame Speaker.

Ted Cruz is really getting the message, and even Mitch “the Turtle” McConnell is coming out of his shell.

The late Kenny Rogers had the song “Coward of the County” about a boy that avoided violence… until.

Or as Ecclasties didn’t put it, There’s a time for civility, and a time to sucker punch and kicking while down.

November is when the real bitch slapping will occur.

With the complaints of Franklin Graham setting up an emergency hospital in The City in mind:

I hate to break this to the New Yorkers, but there’s no law saying the rest of the country, indeed the world, should defer to them. The reason Samaritan’s Purse is setting up a hospital for them is because it’s what they would do for anybody.

Sorry, Big Apple. No matter what you think, you are superior to no one. The only people who think you’re special and more deserving is you. If someone does something for you, try being grateful instead of snarky.
.

Poor Chuck, born a reptile and now this?

Schuck Fumer.

Love today’s pep talk in the form of the letter our President sent to crying Chuck. Totally made my day!
Sending my prayers and love to President Trump!!!

As you are aware, the Federal Government is merely a back-up for state governments.

Civics 101 in a sound-bite. This should be tattooed to the forehead of every Democrat, and of every member of their National Scribblers & Stenography Corps. It should be put on a continuous-play loop outside the offices of AOC and the rest of her Squad. It should be a plaque on every staffers desk across the breadth of Washington DC.

All of this blowback against Schumer and Pelosi, the Squad- all of them- doesn’t mean squat if we don’t stop preaching to the choir, get off our butts and work to elect Republicans across the ballot. Overconfidence is the first chapter in their playbook. Rip it out of ours. Work for victory. Volunteer to work for Republican House and Senate candidates. Drive the Democrats into the sea. They’re already on both coasts.

ROTONDARON in reply to Hollymon. | April 3, 2020 at 1:41 pm

    AGREED! You are ‘Right on”! BUT….How does one put common sense, & intelligence, into the so-called brain of a Libretard voter? These Demoncrats, keep voting along party lines even though, the “PARTY”…..Loves Abortion of Human babies, love Open Borders, & Sanctuary Cities, hates Police, Loves to allow Illegal Aliens to vote in national Elections, Love to give “everything”, including education of their kids, food, money, free medical….All in the hopes of getting them to vote Demoncrat!…..{ How do you change that?}

bring a ray of light into the dark alley
Ummmm, shining a light into alleys is not necessarily a good thing. Then you can actually see the rats and garbage and filth. Best just to stay out of the alley altogether.

a well deserved Schmuck you letter

One of the most needed infrastructure projects in the country is the NJ /NY rail tunnel. How is it that the minority leader of the senate can’t get such a project moved forward, another senator ( Menendez), Congressman Nadler among other others, they have no desire to improve their home districts, they are more focused on trying to destroy Trump and other republicans, they can’t make a deal with Mrs. Mc Connell either to get it done in a reasonable time frame and at a reasonable cost.
Problem is the electorate won’t remove them from office when their name appears on the ballot.

Dear President Trump–You cannot have any idea how much those of us who live in upstate NY–you know, those who in Nyawk parlance are considered apple-knockers,rubes, hicks, and deplorables–appreciate your letter to Schumer. Sadly, I don’t believe that it will make any difference.

My pep talk newspaper box display window meme for today.

“Last month I was a deplorable. Today I am an essential.”

Pearls before a pig.

Because this is the “Coup II Flu”, make no mistake.
