Being off center stage has helped Biden, who struggles even in friendly interviews

While a lot of pundit claim that the Wuhan coronavirus crisis has damaged Joe Biden’s campaign by pushing him off center stage, in fact being off center stage is the best things that’s happened to Biden’s campaign.

Biden obviously had ‘cognitive decline’ issues — that’s not a medical diagnosis, but an observation any honest person watching him in action the past few months recognizes. He repteadedly loses track of what he is saying, has trouble finding words, and appears to read from notes in what should be spontaneous interviews.

On March 8, 2020, I noted Joe Biden is becoming a sad figure to watch, after several horrifying public episodes, like these:

As bad as his interviews have been, Biden’s livestreams, in a completely controlled environment, have been worse, Joe Biden’s Livestreams Have Been a Disaster.

While it would be easy to write this off as Republicans doing to Biden what Democrats and the media have been doing promoting removal of Trump under the 25th Amendment, as Stacey documented, Democrats, Media Were the First to Raise Issues About Biden’s Cognitive Health.

It seems as if each week brings a new example, including these two today captured by Republican oppos researchers. In one, Biden was almost incoherent:

“Um, you know, there’s a uh, during World War… Two, uh, you know, where Roosevelt came up with a thing that uh, you know, was totally different than a, than the, the, it’s called, he’s called it a, you know, the World War Two, he had the World, the War Production Board.”

And this one, where Biden appears to forget what year 9/11 took place.

Don’t think Democrats are not aware of this problem. Julian Castro brought it up during a debate:

Cory Booker said it was a legitimate issue:

At some point, Democrats are going to have to grapple with the trap they have set for themselves. The party establishment rallied people around Biden to prevent Bernie from getting the nomination, but it’s unclear that Biden can handle what is to come.
