Harvey Weinstein Sentenced to 23 Years in Prison After Conviction of Third-Degree Rape, Criminal Sex Act
The accusations against Weinstein started the #MeToo movement.
After a bit of whining, a judge sentenced disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein to 23 years in prison.
A jury found Weinstein guilty of third-degree rape and a criminal sex act last month.
New York Supreme Court Justice James Burke handed Weinstein the sentence after a seven-week trial.

A Manhattan jury last month convicted Mr. Weinstein on two counts: first-degree criminal sexual act, for forcing oral sex on “Project Runway” production assistant Miriam Haley in 2006; and third-degree rape, for having nonconsensual sex with then-aspiring actress Jessica Mann in 2013.
He was acquitted of the most severe charges—two counts of predatory sexual assault, which carried a possible life sentence. The jury ultimately decided against convicting Mr. Weinstein of raping former “Sopranos” star Annabella Sciorra in the early 1990s.
Mr. Weinstein faced a range of five to 25 years in prison on the criminal sexual-act charge and up to four years in prison for third-degree rape.
The jury listened to 28 witnesses, including six women who accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.

(Question: Car 54 Where Are You was one of two shows produced by Nat Hiken before he killed himself. The other was Sergeant Bilko / The Phil Silvers Show / You’ll Never Get Rich. Car 54 had a character called Schnauzer. SB has one called Doberman. If Hiken has done more shows, would there have been a Sealyham? A Shepherd? A Basset? A show about old guys, one being an alter cocker?)
I guess the Appellate Division won’t be granting him bail pending appeal with that lengthy sentence. Oh well Harvey, at least you’ll be going Upstate to breathe in that clean mountain air (which has got to be good for your health).

Depends on which prison.
The God fearing citizens of Gotham do not let things like maximum or medium security prisons to be situated in their territorial limits. He’ll go Upstate for his initial go-round with the system in Dutchess County and possibly stay there because it’s the Downstate prison hospital facility.
With a 26 year bid, I bet he’s transferred to something more restrictive until he’s fully institutionalized, perhaps in Greene County.

Still, it wasn’t rape… rape-rape, or pedophilia. There were no women, or children, Planned/aborted. It was liberal indulgence of a trans-social orientation.
I am glad that all the female accusers ran promptly to a police station to report Weinstein’s transgressions. Perhaps they will get some compensation if there is Weinstein has any money left after his lawyers finish their billing.

By the way, how can anyone be “forced” to perform oral sex on a man? Aside from being physically threatened with a knife or gun, but that’s more a case of “threatening than “forcing”.

Probably the best idea is do away with the rape charge entirely. Replace it with assault and battery.
There’s no feminine modesty anymore anyway, which was what rape as a charge was meant to protect.
Even women can’t be confused by assault and battery.
Seeing him with his walker makes me want to “initiate” him into the real world. Ah well, it’s all downhill for him, from now on. May he find a man who will treat him in a way that he will come to understand what most folks already know.

I didn’t follow the sordid details of the case. Was he convicted on actual evidence, or was it all “believe the woman”-type fluff?

All that’s missing from weinstein’s performance with his walker is an appearance with his walker on the New Jerry Lewis Telethon.
While I am no fan of any aspect of the Sexual Revolution, and am not amused by the Hollywood culture of the casting couch, I wonder how many of Weinstein’s accusers are women who thought they were paying their showbiz dues, but found that careers didn’t pan out?
