The reported violent racist physical assault you probably never heard about – Updated

Jennifer Agostini

An actress named Jennifer Agostini left a New York City bar in the early morning hours last weekend with friends when a mob yelling racial slurs allegedly attacked them.

Although this incident shares similarities with the supposed attack on actor Jussie Smollet, it has not received the same amount of media coverage. In fact, it’s received almost no national coverage.

The New York Post reported:

Hoods attacked actress Jennifer Agostini, friends leaving Midtown bar: suitActress Jennifer Agostini, 43, and swimsuit model Prendinellys Garcia, 47, ran up a nearly $1,000 tab at Midtown lounge Sky Room for their friend’s birthday Saturday night before leaving around 3 a.m. Sunday, their Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit says. But on their way out of the West 40th Street club, they got jumped and beaten to the ground by a group of 10 to 15 people who were yelling “white motherf—ers,” “dirty white b—-es” and “f—k those white b—-es and their money,” the court papers say.“It was just this stampede as we were leaving. We just got rushed and assaulted by, I can’t tell you by how many people,” Agostini — who is set to begin filming the show “Brooklyn Ties” this spring — told The Post.“I’m a lead character on the series in March, and I have to now go to see numerous plastic surgeons, and I also have to go back to the concussion center to MRI my head.”

The silence from the media is rather curious, isn’t it?

The New York Daily News has more details:

The group was attending another actress’ birthday party when they were asked to leave the VIP area. They had run up a more than $900 tab, and when Garcia’s husband Cal Stuart went to pay it, they realized a club host still had a credit card belonging to another partygoer, the suit states. That led to a confrontation with a bouncer, described in the lawsuit as “black male, bald head, white goatee, wandering eye approximately six-feet two-inches tall, wearing a black turtle neck and black pants.” The bouncer allegedly pushed the woman who was trying to retrieve her credit card, then “continued to manhandle two women” before Stuart objected, according to the lawsuit…The brawl started shortly after, as Agostini and her group were leaving, according to the lawsuit.“Jennifer got the worst of it,” Garcia said. “There were two or three bouncers there, and no one was doing anything.”Garcia said most of the attackers were black women. “They were screaming, ‘These white b——!’” she alleged. “I’m Puerto Rican, my girlfriends are white, my husband’s white, everybody else is white. It was crazy.”

Perhaps the media would care more about this story if the attackers were wearing MAGA hats.

UPDATE: The Sky Room nightclub has offered a response to all of this.

Graham Rayman reports at the New York Daily News:

Midtown nightclub pushes back on claims bouncers started fight by actress and modelA fancy Midtown nightclub on Monday refuted an actress’ claims that she and her pals were beaten bloody by racist thugs.Actress Jennifer Agostini, 43, model Prendinellys Garcia, 46, and two others sued the Sky Room last week claiming they were attacked in the upscale club at W. 40th St. near 8th Ave. on Nov. 24 after arguing with a bouncer. But the club, releasing a 17-minute security video, alleges it was Agostini and Garcia who instigated three altercations.”These women and other members of their party were hostile, aggressive, constantly cursing and physical instigators of altercations in three separate areas while at Sky Room,” club spokesman Mike Paul said in a statement.
