Wait. With John Durham leading the investigation, maybe the question should be: Who was the first to flip? Because it may already have happened.
It was clear after the release of the Mueller Report that Attorney General William Barr was determined to get to the bottom of the spying on Trump and his campaign.
Because of that expressed determination, Barr became a public enemy. On May 2, 2019, I wrote, Bill Barr is going to expose Spygate, and the Democrat-Media Russia Collusion Complex is panicking:
It was Barr’s comments about spying on the Trump campaign, and his pledge to investigate that spying, that explains the frenzy to take down Barr. That spying, regardless of whether lawful, has the potential to be a scandal that could touch deep into the Obama administration, and some former officials who loom large in the anti-Trump resistance.
It also could reach deep into the media, with the involvement of Fusion GPS in feeding Russian-provided, Clinton/DNC paid-for, disinformation to the mainstream journalist community.
So the stakes are huge. The Russian collusion scandal may be a Democrat and media scandal. People may go to jail for that collusion, and if so, they may be the first people to go to jail over Russian collusion involving the 2016 election.
Barr is the single greatest threat to the Democrat-Media Russia Collusion Complex. That’s why Democrats, with help from the mainstream media, will spare no effort to tarnish Barr as a way of discrediting the investigative train that is rolling down the tracks.
When Barr appointed John Durham to handle the investigation, later in May, the finger-pointing among those involved in investigating Trump started, leading to the the pressing question was Who’s going to cut a deal first in Spygate?
The drama between Brennan and Comey is just the surface. The Durham investigation could reach out of the FBI-CIA up through the Obama administration, including then Attorney General Loretta Lynch and the White House itself.
There is the potential for a lot of finger pointing, as Karie Pavlich tweeted:

Since the NY Times reported that the Durham investigation is a criminal investigation, that is the question again.
The stakes are so much higher for those involved. Whoever cuts a deal first could be spared prosecution or prison. So someone is likely to sing, and that someone likely is a mid-level person in the FBI who was disgusted with what happened but close enough to it that the person is at risk.

To me all of this is so obvious that it doesn’t even need an investigation. It’s already been investigated, it’s been learned, but they’ve gotta be able to prove it in court if they want to go there. They’ve got to get testimony. When they impanel this grand jury, folks, I’m telling you, that’s when people start flipping, that’s when people start asking themselves, “Do I want to go to jail for John Brennan? Do I want to go to jail for Obama? Do I want to spend some time in jail for Clapper or Comey?”
This is when these questions start getting asked of people. You know, their loyalty will be tested. And we don’t know how that’s gonna go. But all it’s gonna take is one person to flip. And even if that person eventuates, surfaces, if there is a successful effort to make one of them flip, I can’t predict. I just think everybody is involved in this, even some people in the Trump White House are involved in it. It just depends on how far they want to dig up and go and how far they think they need to go to prove what this was.

Mueller was the one to sign off on Uranium One. The pay offs from that deal are a big thread which ties a lot of these characters together. Herr Mueller was placed as the Special Counsel because he was tied up in it somehow, and it was his choice to bring in all the Democrat leftists to help him.
Mueller has dirt on him, Rosenstein was the one to do backdated changes to the scope of Mueller’s investigation. Herr Mueller was over Rosenstein in the ring.

Rosenstein was NOT allowed to resign until after the Mueller report despite the fact that we knew that he was up to his eyeballs in involvement; Page because she’s a mother and would want to maximize the potential of not having to wear orange for 5 or 10 years and be away from her little ones, and Ohr because despite the demotions, he’s still at Main Justice and he’ll want to protect wifey from exposure (she brings Fusion GPS’ involvement squarely into focus and she will have to cooperate to keep Bruce’s ass out of the sling any further than it’s already in.
I have long wondered, with two demotions under his belt, how Bruce Ohr kept a job at the DOJ given that his actions would seemingly remove any possibility of trust in his judgment.

The most optimistic interpretation of Barr’s activities is that he thinks he can defeat our enemies’ strategy.
Their goal is to destroy the United States socially, legally, and morally. Their strategy is almost foolproof: If we don’t fight them, then our country is destroyed directly by them; if we do fight them, then our country is destroyed indirectly by the conflict. I’d like to believe that Barr is aware of that two-pronged trap and is working to avoid it.
The traitors have been using the law to destroy the law. If Barr can bring them to justice through normal legal processes, then he will both stop their attack and avoid violent conflict — or mostly avoid it, since America’s enemies won’t go down without a fight; it’s their only admirable quality.
I agree that the only way to avoid the violent destruction of the country and the installation of an openly totalitarian state will be to defeat them by the law and then crushing their kinetic resistance. However, there has been bloody little law deployed against those who are trying to destroy our country. Little enough to make an observer insist on seeing some before believing that any such thing is happening.

You have described the war of nerves. They all know by now that all it takes is one to flip and they are all going down. If they believe that Page or someone at her level has already flipped, those higher up now fear losing any leverage they may now have to cut a deal to save their own skins.
They may see themselves as patriots but suffer from seeing most everyone else as rats. They only have to be right once about who is a rat and it’s all over. Once the grand jury is assembled and subpoenaes are issued, it will probably be too late for most of them. They can’t all take the fifth or plead Alzheimer’s.
Clapper was stammering all over the place on TV the other night, and his voice had the kind of tremors in it that only desperate fear can cause. I listened to him on Breitbart’s podcast so no video and his fear was palpable.

I’m still not convinced anyone will really be held accountable. What if there is a hot smoking gun pointed by none other than Obama himself? Does anyone think that he will ultimately be sitting in a defendant’s chair or that any jury anywhere will find him guilty regardless of the evidence.

I don’t think Obama himself would have his crown knocked off, but there are plenty around him that could fall in his stead. He has layers between him and will become the clueless, blameless one, who only heard the report and was as shocked as everyone else… It would leave him be, but it wouldn’t take a room temperature IQ to know his fingerprints were on it. Legacy would be as poor as his presidency, but the propaganda wing would still cover for him and lie about how wonderful he remains.

The Joint Defense Agreements have already been signed and all the attorney retainers paid by “a benevolent 3rd party who desires to remain anonymous…snicker, snicker” so that everyone under the umbrella of the investigation is already cooperating in a common defense strategy (e.g., keep all the big players out of trouble, burn the little players at the stake).
The way the bribery scheme works is that all of their legal bills will be paid as long as they remain in the Joint Defense Agreement, to include, reporting to the Central Committee every time they speak to the investigators/prosecutors.
Should they fail to report, or move to drop-out of the Agreement, they will collapse under the weight of all the suddenly unpaid legal bills they have accrued, without an attorney to work with them in negotiating their cooperation agreement.
