Media, the Left Have Pushed Trump Impeachment for 35 Months, Even Before Inauguration

President Donald Trump faces an impeachment inquiry forced by the House Democrats. Thing is, the media and the left have pushed for Trump’s impeachment for over 35 months.

It started before Trump even took office in January 2017.

MRC NewsBusters pointed out the impeachment obsession yesterday:

By November 10, 2016 — just two days after the election! — television talking heads were already conjuring up theoretical scenarios in which Donald Trump could be removed from office. Since then, TV journalists have amassed quite a repertoire of possible causes for a premature end to the Trump White House, including (but not limited to): his tax returns; his family’s business dealings, both home and abroad; his firing of various cabinet officials; and of course, his tweets.

Remember the obsession with supposed Russian collusion began right away. For instance, The Independent reported on January 17, 2019, that people called for impeachment or Trump’s resignation after reports surfaced he told his lawyer “Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about talks to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.”

On January 20, 2017, The Washington Post published an article titled The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun.

Matea Gold wrote about how the website ImpeachDonaldTrumpNow.org went live right as Trump took his oath. Free Specch for People and RootsAction started the campaign in order to stop bad things from happening:

“If we were to wait for all the ill effects that could come from this, too much damage to our democracy would occur,” said Ron Fein, legal director at Free Speech for People. “It will undermine faith in basic institutions. If nothing else, it’s important for Americans to trust that the president is doing what he thinks is the right thing … not that it would help jump-start a stalled casino project in another country.”The impeachment drive comes as Democrats and liberal activists are mounting broad opposition to stymie Trump’s agenda. Among the groups organizing challenges to the Trump administration is the American Civil Liberties Union, which plans to wield public-records requests and lawsuits as part of an aggressive action plan aimed at protecting immigrants and pushing for government transparency, among other issues.“We think that President Trump will be in violation of the Constitution and federal statutes on day one, and we plan a vigorous offense to ensure the worst of the constitutional violations do not occur,” said Anthony D. Romero, the ACLU’s executive director.

Rep. Boyd Roberts (D-CA) filed paperwork to the FEC to form the Impeach Trump Leadership PAC a month after the inauguration.

Then came the dismissal of former FBI Director James Comey in May 2017. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Rep. Al Green (D-TX) became the first Democrats to suggest impeachment proceedings.

Since then, Green has shown his obsession over impeachment. He has professed numerous times on the floor that he will not stop until Congress impeaches Trump.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) joined the chorus. She told The View in August 2017 that after Congress impeaches Trump they will go after Vice President Mike Pence.

California billionaire and climate activist Tom Steyer released an ad in October 2017 to push for Congress to impeach Trump. Steyer is now running for the Democratic presidential nomination for 2020.

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) filed articles of impeachment earlier this year.

Let’s not forget about House Judiciary Committe Chairman Jerry Nadler:

This has nothing to do with any supposed wrongdoing by Trump. It has everything to do with the fact that the American people chose him instead of their precious Hillary Clinton.
