FLASHBACK: Biden Brags About Getting Ukrainian Prosecutor Investigating Son Fired and Democrats Wrote Ukraine, Asking for Investigation of Trump

It’s the hypocrisy of it all, really.

https://youtu.be/OkWkuBNvdjo

This is the game the Democrats want to play, so, game on.

Without having seen the transcript of the call, Democrats pulled the impeachment trigger Tuesday, alleging with no proof that Trump pressured the Ukrainian president to investigate Biden or risk loosing US military aid. President Zelensky denied this was the context of their conversation, and we learned Wednesday that Zelensky was correct when the White House released the transcript of the call.

Rabid, frothing mouthed Democrats have been impatiently waiting in the wings to chew a bite out of Trump for something actually unlawful.  They went all in on this call, which so far, is almost completely a nothingburger. And then the OLC released a report explaining why they were kicking the whistleblower allegations to Congress and essentially concluded the whistleblower was 1) a Democrat 2) didn’t (doesn’t) like the president, and 3) was based entirely on hearsay and for various other reasons, not an “urgent concern.” Basically, Peter Strzok all over again. Maybe it is Peter Strzok… I jest, but at this point nothing would surprise me.

In any case, back in 2018 former Vice President Biden bragged about pressuring Ukrainian officials to fire the prosecutor investigating his son (who was involved in some seriously shady business dealings with Burisma) or risk losing out on a $1 billion loan from the US. Biden’s bribe was successful. And bonus, it’s allllllll on tape!

As The Federalist points out, the relevant portion of Biden’s bragfest is here:

I remember going over and convincing our team, others, to convince that we should be providing for loan guarantees. And I went over, I guess, the 12th, 13th time to Kiev. And I was supposed to announce that there was another billion-dollar loan guarantee. And I had gotten a commitment from Poroshenko and from Yatsenyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor. And they didn’t.

So they said they had—they were walking out to a press conference. I said, nah, I’m not going to—or, we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said, you have no authority. You’re not the president. The president said—I said, call him. (Laughter.) I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a b-tch. (Laughter.) He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.

So, that happened.

But wait, there’s more!

Also in 2018, three Democrat Senators, Sens. Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Richard J. Durbin (D-IL), and Patrick J. Leahy (D-VT) wrote to Ukraine’s prosecutor general and not so subtly threatened to withdraw support over investigations they believed were critical to the Mueller report fiasco.

From the WaPo:

It got almost no attention, but in May, CNN reported that Sens. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) and Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) wrote a letter to Ukraine’s prosecutor general, Yuriy Lutsenko, expressing concern at the closing of four investigations they said were critical to the Mueller probe. In the letter, they implied that their support for U.S. assistance to Ukraine was at stake. Describing themselves as “strong advocates for a robust and close relationship with Ukraine,” the Democratic senators declared, “We have supported [the] capacity-building process and are disappointed that some in Kyiv appear to have cast aside these [democratic] principles to avoid the ire of President Trump,” before demanding Lutsenko “reverse course and halt any efforts to impede cooperation with this important investigation.”

So, it’s okay for Democratic senators to encourage Ukraine to investigate Trump, but it’s not okay for the president to allegedly encourage Ukraine to investigate Hunter Biden?

It’s the hypocrisy of it all, really. Which is not to say that we can’t simultaneously examine serious charges against Trump (though there’ve yet to surface any allegations meeting the qualification of “serious”) while also scrutinizing the actions of his accusers. We can and especially here at LI, do.

Democrats have worked super hard to completely and wholly personify what regular ol’ Americans hate about politics and the political system. So, kudos to them? Allowing their juvenile impulse and delusions to run wild, blinded by everything that doesn’t jive with “Orang Man Bad”, Democrats, the progressive grassroots, their media cheer leaders, and Hollywood’s lame lecturing are going to render the whole lot of them completely irrelevant, and quickly.

It’s amazing the DNC corruption here and all we get from the propaganda machine is NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

I think Trump might have had a hand in the leak going to the whistle blower to have all this come out.

Without the hook of getting Trump, the propaganda machine for the National Socialists would pretty much ignore the story about Biden and the Ukraine.

It also brings up the spying and bringing in foreign nations to set up Trump.

This coup attempt is bigger than Watergate ever dreamed of being. I think Pelosi and Company fell for a blind plant and stepped into it so big they cannot back down. Not that they would anyway, but now it’s front and center.

Meanwhile Mittens – AKA RINO former Presidential Candidate for the republican party, is doing what he can to bring Republican Senators to go against Trump. I think he, more than the obviously weak whistle blower allegation, is what brought her to the “tipping point”. Now there are beginning calls for her to step down.

The media will be viewed extremely poorly for all this and the years long predictions that Trump would be brought down. Who the heck believes most of what they say, unless you know how to parse their bias and see the true story they are trying to hide.

Democrat Socialists or DEZIS. Diversity, redistributive change, selective-Jew… child.

Watergate successfully forced or steered a president to resign under impeachment and threat of removal. That said, where there was “Deep Throat” to uncover activities outside the president’s purview, there is today Deep Plumber who exposes Obama spied, Clinton colluded, Biden obstructed, DNC denied, the press carried out warlock trials, the media platforms steered the vote, and [anti]fascists raged.

It’s the hypocrisy of it all, really.
Sadly, the hypocrisy seems to be common on both sides.

Which is not to say that we can’t simultaneously examine serious charges against Trump […] while also scrutinizing the actions of his accusers. We can and especially here at LI, do.
If only this were the prevailing view around here. Sadly, this site has become mostly a ‘criticism free zone’ regarding trump.

And, cue the band, just making this observation will bring on an onslaught of down votes and derisive name calling, accompanied by unwarranted accusations of me being a left wing troll.

Try this little bit of logical consistency… If it is ok for trump to try to influence foreign governments for his own political gain, then it is ok for democrats to do the same. If it was wrong for democrats to try to influence foreign governments for their own political gain, then it is wrong for trump to do the same.

There is no evidence to suggest that Trump tried to influence a foreign government for his own political gain.

Fair point. To which I would add the word ‘yet’.

For what it’s worth, some say the phone call itself is prima facia evidence (I am not one), so ‘no evidence’ may be in the eye of the beholder at this point.

If/when hard evidence comes forth, we will already be neck deep in the But Biden Did It First defense. In the meantime, the dems have pounced so hard on this, the wagons around both camps are going to be circling tighter and tighter, making it harder for the average american to really care which side is right.

There is no evidence you killed and ate your mother, yet.

WestRock in reply to Barry. | September 25, 2019 at 9:01 pm

And there’s even less evidence that he didn’t kill and eat his mother, just his word. And would you take the word of a mother-killing cannibal?

          Good point.

coolway in reply to Barry. | September 25, 2019 at 10:39 pm

Thank you for proving my point. Rather than discuss the merit of my point, you dive right into pointless ad hom bullshit.

By the way, in your view, which is worse; matricidal cannibal, or commie prog? Asking for a friend…

mailman in reply to Barry. | September 26, 2019 at 5:26 am

Fortunately for us in the West its not, supposedly, how our system is meant to work. Your point would also be a fishing expedition, something Democrats seem to be specialising in since 2016…which again, in our Western system is not supposed to be allowed to take place because again.

Supposedly…crazy times since 2016 when the left has refused to accept they lost the election.

“Rather than discuss the merit of my point…”

LOL, your “point” has no merit. “Yet” is not worthy of discussion. Nothing you post has merit. It’s just prog BS designed to deceive.

Discussion/debate with idiots is pointless. Better just to mock them.

          You’re being mocked.

Barry in reply to coolway. | September 25, 2019 at 5:01 pm

It’s quite simple Ragspierre, Trump did nothing wrong, and you have nothing but “yet”.

We’ve been listening to you NeverTrumpers tell us it was just another week or so away, the proof, for three years now, and nothing. Not a damn thing.

Trump’s life is the most investigated on earth, mostly illegally, and nothing, nada, zilch, zero.

But keep up the hope. Pretend it’s just around the corner. Cry in your bottle.

moonmoth in reply to Barry. | September 26, 2019 at 7:56 am

You told coolman“It’s quite simple Ragspierre, Trump did nothing wrong, and you have nothing but ‘yet’.”

Your reply is just one of several good ones to coolman’s “yet”. Thanks.

Barry in reply to Barry. | September 26, 2019 at 5:04 pm

          We aim to serve moonmoth.
          Thanks!

Perhaps. However, after… what is it now, 12 trimesters, the baby… president is viable, and even most Democrats balk at carrying out an elective impeachment this long after inauguration.

I’m reserving judgement until the possessor of the universe second largest brain, Millhouse, tells us how we should be thinking.

OleDirtyBarrister in reply to mailman. | September 25, 2019 at 4:28 pm

Poseur millhouse does not even have a law degree and thinks he knows more than those that do. He frequently attacks others and calls them dumb and tries to play Mr. Smartypants.

And before you respond Millhouse, pound sand you fucking know it all poseur.

There’s no way the Democrats lose. We’ve already proven you don’t prosecute Democrats for anything once they reach a certain level. They get to fire their base up, fund raise and pretend to do something to Orange Man Bad.

OleDirtyBarrister | September 25, 2019 at 4:26 pm

Trump and all Republicans should pound the message that Joe Biden committed extortion and bribery. Just beat the drum over and over even if his executive authority provides the power to do what he did and precludes indictment.

They should also take a page out of the Rats’ playbook and get a bunch of prosecutors to sign a statement averring that “if it were anyone else, he would go to jail” for extortion or bribery.

Trump-Hating Romney Found the Trump-Ukraine Memo “Deeply Troubling”

Did he read the same transcript we read? The most you can say about it is Trump throws caution to the wind when he speaks and says whatever is on his mind. He obviously wants Ukraine to look into their government corruption as it concerns the United States and the Bidens.

… Democrats pressured Ukraine during the 2016 election but Ukraine didn’t seem to acquiesce except, allegedly, in the case of the Bidens. That will now be investigated.

Where Romney gets his “deeply troubling” mantra from….

https://www.independentsentinel.com/trump-hating-romney-found-the-trump-ukraine-memo-deeply-troubling/

If it weren’t for the obviousness of the dems’ hypocrisy, I’d know they were schizophrenic. I don’t know how the average citizen deals with the head-jerking changes of positions of the dems. It’s bizarro.

Too bad they couldn’t stuff this until next September.
This fool guarantees a Trump landslide

It’s almost as if President Donald J. Trump knew about this corruption going back for decades. Almost as if he took years to formulate a plan to run for and win the Presidenc. It looks as if he knew how to expose it, and in exposing it, hopefully stop it. Some questions I have… Was hunter biden subject to FARA? Isn’t it weird that whitey bulger’s kid is in the mix here, and whitey got whacked in prison? Then epstein dies in prison? Did joe biden have an email address on hillary’s server? Did hunter? Who specifically at the fbi signed off on letting hillary and her team to destroy laptops, sim cards etc? I know I’m jumping around but there is so much we need to know!

If he gets booted from office I see nothing in the Constitution to prevent him from running again in 2020.
