On Saturday, 24-year-old Connor Betts went on a shooting rampage in Dayton, OH. He killed nine people, including his sister, and injured 27.

Like other murderers, the actions of Betts did not surprise those who knew him. In fact, classmates and acquaintances knew for a long time Betts had it in him to cause so much death. His Twitter account lavished praise on Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and hatred on President Donald Trump along with ICE and the police.

Betts’ social media history not only shows his bloodlust, but his leftist views:

Among the details that surfaced in the search were MySpace photographs of notebook sketches showing odd phrases handwritten in screamo music-style font. The posts appear to be about a decade old.

The sketches, confirmed by a friend of the shooter as authentic, featured nearly illegible writing with legible captions underneath, including “All Shall Be Annihilated,” “Bloodlust,” “Absolute Carnage” and “Bloody Massacre.”

Heavy.com confirmed the Twitter account @iamthespookster belonged to Betts. His tweets expressed hatred for Trump and wanted to vote for Sen. Warren in 2020. In one tweet, Betts wrote he wanted socialism and did not want to “wait for the idiots to finally come around to understanding.”

Betts lashed out against QAnon, ICE, and the police in other tweets.

Ballbrook High School kicked Betts out of school upon discovery of a list he made of girls he wanted to rape and murder. Former principal Chris Baker confirmed the school suspended Betts “for causing a lockdown by writing a hit list on a bathroom wall.”

One of those girls, who attended middle school with Betts, told Dayton Daily News the rampage “isn’t a mystery to” her:

The classmate, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the shooter once said he fantasized about tying her up and slitting her throat. The fetish was so macabre that even the shooter admitted he was scared of his thoughts, the woman recalled him saying.

“He knew it wasn’t normal,” the woman said about the decade-old conversation. “He and I talked at length about him getting help.”

The woman said she and her parents told Bellbrook police about the bizarre admission, but the woman said she felt she wasn’t taken seriously, despite the would-be shooter including her on a hit list.

Demoy Howell said Betts never made him feel uncomfortable, but others mentioned to him that the shooter “made them feel threatened or uncomfortable.”

Betts participated in the high school’s Junior ROTC military program, which “seemed to have a calming influence on” him, according to Howell. After the suspension, Howell said Betts “kind of fell off the face of the earth” before the two of them ended up working at the same fast food restaurant:

“He was always a bit of an oddball,” said Howell. “He had a dark sense of humor — jokes about people dying. He would wear all black. I remember sensing a dark energy around him.”

“I think this is less of a hate crime and more of an ‘I hate everybody’ crime,” Howell said. “I honestly feel more comfortable now knowing that he’s gone.”

Heavy.com has more statements from Betts’ former classmates:

Chenoa Sandoval wrote on Facebook, “Before the Media portrays this full grown man as an innocent kid who was damaged in high school due to bullying I want to set the record straight right now. Connor Betts had a history of serious harrassment towards fellow female students. Some of which were my friends or siblings of friends. He had a notebook with detailed information on how he wanted to hurt fellow female students.”

A woman named Aubrey Williams wrote, “He loved scaring people. He thought it was funny and got off on it. He scared my sister so bad once, I think he held her in his car against her will. She started crying and he laughed at her. He was sick.” Another wrote, “wasnt our responsibility!! We WERE just kids!! It should not be a kids job to sfop a killer!! People did report him!!”

The Dayton Daily News performed more research on Betts. A background check only brought up “traffic violations, such as speeding, failure to control his vehicle and failure to yield.”

Even left-leaning Snopes says it’s “True” that Betts “has on social media described himself as a leftist, expressed “pro-Satan” views, and has stated support for Elizabeth Warren.”
