Bill Maher: “BDS is a bulls*** purity test by people who want to appear woke but actually slept through history class”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib calls for a boycott of Maher’s show. Seriously.

Every now and then Bill Maher hits a left-wing dogma squarely on the head and it’s particularly persuasive coming from someone who is on the left. We’ve covered several such occasions, even if most of the time we disagree with Maher.

Maher just did it again with regard to the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, setting off a fury of recrimination from Rep. Rashida Tlaib and other anti-Israel activists.

As we have documented, BDS is a direct continuation of the anti-Jewish Arab boycotts of the 1920s and 1930s which took place decades before there was an Israel, and the Arab League boycott of Jews that started in 1945, three years before Israel’s independence. BDS is an anti-Jewish boycott repackaged for the social justice movement that was launched at the anti-Semitic Durban Conference in 2001 (not a spontaneous call from Palestinian civil society in 2005, as claimed). See my lecture, The REAL history of the BDS movement.

Maher brought that truth to his show in talking about the controversy over Tlaib and Ilhan Omar being barred from Israel over their promotion of BDS on a planned tour of “Palestine” which including likely incitement on the Temple Mount. Tlaib was granted a humanitarian waiver and visa to visit her grandmother who lives in a village under the control of the Palestinian Authority, but Tlaib refused.

Maher addressed BDS in his comments (transcript via Newsbusters)(emphasis added):

It’s a bulls*** purity test. BDS is a bulls*** purity test by people who want to appear woke but actually slept through history class. It’s predicated on this notion, I think, that the Jews in Israel are mostly white, the Palestinians are browner, so they must be innocent and correct, and the Jews must be wrong. As if the occupation came right out of the blue, that this completely peaceful people found themselves occupied. Forget about the infitadas [sic] and the suicide bombings and the rockets and how many wars.

Let me read Omar Barghouti, is one of the co-founders of the movement. His quote. “No rational Palestinian … would ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.” So that’s where that comes from, this movement, someone who doesn’t even want a Jewish state at all. Somehow this side never gets presented in the American media. I think it’s very odd.

Maher actually was too kind.

Israeli Jews are not mostly white (European). Approximately half the Jewish population are refugees from or the descendants of refugees from Arab countries. Israel also has rescued sizable Jewish communities from Ethiopia, India, and elsewhere in the third world. So Maher unknowingly was buying into the propaganda about Israel being “white.” He also mispronounced the name of the bloody Intifada (not Infidata) that killed 1000 Israeli civilians and led to construction of the security barrier (a wall in built-up areas to prevent sniper fire, and a fence for most of its length).

But despite being too kind, Maher nailed it.

BDS is a bullshit purity test. It’s been that way on campuses for over a decade, and now it has invaded the Democratic Party. And despite deliberate ambiguity, BDS co-founder Omar Barghouti and other leaders are clear that their goal is the elimination of any Jewish state in any borders.

BDS leaders consider all of Israel occupied, not just the territories recaptured from Jordan in 1967 after Jordan attacked Israel. That’s right, most people don’t know that Israel asked Jordan not to join the war effort by Egypt and Syria, but Jordan attacked anyway, and lost control of territories (including Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem) it illegally seized in 1948. Jordan cleansed those territories of Jews, and destroyed Jewish synagogues and cemeteries. Before Israel recaptured those territories in 1967, there was no Palestinian movement for independence from Jordan.

The reaction from BDS supporters was predictable, accusations of bigotry, racism, Islamophobia, and so on. This is what truth-tellers about BDS face.

Good for Maher for having the guts to tell the truth.

Countdown until he recants….

Let me read Omar Barghouti, is one of the co-founders of the movement. His quote. “No rational Palestinian … would ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.” So that’s where that comes from, this movement, someone who doesn’t even want a Jewish state at all. Let me predict how utterly clueless SJWs would defend this quote: “That doesn’t follow. He doesn’t want a Jewish state in Palestine, where it has no business being. It should stay in Israel where it belongs.”

I don’t think I need to point out the fundamental error here, which I have seen several such people make. It shows that they know absolutely nothing at all about the topic, and therefore are not entitled to have an opinion about it.

A sign that even the nuts themselves think their side has gone nuts?

In US BDS could take over in 2 seconds every locality that has Jewish mayor county exec counsel head or city county manager. With LI favorite topic of BDS discussion Durham NC being a number one example.

“Every now and then Bill Maher hits a left-wing dogma squarely on the head and it’s particularly persuasive coming from someone who is on the left.”

Yeah, but 99.99% of the time he’s a hack who uses his platform to spread lies about us. But we’re supposed to feel happy if he throws us a bone once in a while? Sorry no, he’s the enemy and he doesn’t deserve credit for proving the broken clock theory.

There are two leftists whom I find myself agreeing with at times. But oddly enough their attitudes towards Israel are polar opposites. Bill Maher and Glen Greenwald.

And it’s funny that of the two, it’s Maher who is supportive of Israel. Maher has an insufferably self-righteous, condescending, obnoxious personality, and I find it’s usually people with such an unappealing personality and attitude who support BDS and who don’t hold favorable views towards Israel.

But the truth is the truth and I give Maher a thumbs up on this.

Before anyone thinks Maher has miraculously developed common sense, let me remind everyone he also thinks a recession would be worth it to get rid of Trump:

https://hotair.com/archives/karen-townsend/2019/08/17/bill-maher-yes-recession-worth-get-rid-trump/

So Maher wants to dump Trump and replace him with a BDS-luvin’ Democrat. I question just how dangerous Maher thinks BDS really is.

“BDS is a bulls*** purity test by people who want to appear woke but actually slept through history class”

But you can say that about any liberal/Progressive/socialist cause célèbre. All are rooted in ignorance.

Meanwhile, Mr. Maher is renewing his hopes and dreams for a recession…

It’s like his brain is on a bumper cars ride.

Like most liberals, Maher is an atheist who hates religion. Unlike most liberals, Maher doesn’t give Islam any kind of a pass, and he recognizes them for who and what they are, and he calls them out on it. For that he deserves some degree of credit.

Sure. Just like when he said the 9/11 attackers were “brave.”

    No thanks.

He’s a horndog, no kids, no decency.

He can rot in compost for all I care.

Maher is first an entertainer, though he perceives himself above the fray as being some where in between a Kimmel/Colbert and Meet the Press. He plays to his audience which is reflected in his ratings. If the numbers are down or he wants to believe he is relevant, what better way to grab them back by latching onto a topic which plays to both sides. Good or Bad press is better than no press at all. Bill does this well, apparently and at least 1% of the time.

We can call tlaib a warped, malignant, unhinged pig, bent on destruction of everything humanity cherishes, but after seeing the details about her warped, malignant, unhinged pig of a mother, it’s pretty clear what both these pigs are: malignant narcissists.

Read about it:
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/neurosagacity/201702/how-tell-youre-dealing-malignant-narcissist

As for omar, not enough details yet about her personal and family life, other than her marrying her brother. But her mother is likely has the same head-full of sh*t for brains – which is why they both must wear towels around their heads.

Bill Maher is soon to be driven off the air. The far left doesn’t like him and he’s going to reach a point where they have enough of him and work to drive him off. He really doesn’t have enough people on the right to sustain his ratings.

I suspect we will see #metoo allegations appearing soon along with a concentrated push to get Alt-Right white supremacist Maher off of HBO or they will boycott HBO.

Please don’t pester me that Maher is not an Alt-Right white supremacist. I know he’s a leftie loony that occasionally gets things right but the far left is going to accuse him of being Alt-Right the moment they turn on him. They’ve done it to plenty of left leaning people that they’ve decided are bad.

“somehow this side never gets presents in the American media.” you mean bill has never noticed there is a political bias in the democrat party-media complex?
