Biden Thinks It’s ‘a Sin’ to Replace Obamacare With Medicare For All
Biden would like to have a “public option” to “allow people to into government coverage without eliminating employer-based insurance.”
2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden has stuck to his guns on Obamacare even though his rivals have jumped on the Medicare For All bandwagon.
Biden stressed to CNN that he finds it “a sin” to replace Obamacare with Medicare For All.

The former vice president, in an exclusive interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo airing on Monday, argued that former President Barack Obama’s signature health care law, also known as Obamacare, should be expanded to allow people to buy into government-run coverage.
But he said that “starting over would be, I think, a sin.”
“That’s why I’m opposed to any Republican who wants to dismantle it or any Democrat who wants to dismantle it,” he said. “The idea that you’re going to come along and take the most significant thing that happened — that any president has tried to do and that got done — and dismantle it makes no sense to me.”
The top four Democratic candidates have backed Medicare For All, which would eliminate private insurance. Biden slammed those candidates because they have told Americans, “if you’re satisfied with your employer-based health care, you’ve got to give it up.”
Some Americans find this okay, even though Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) plan would mean a rise in taxes. Americans justify the hike because they believe it “would no longer be required to pay insurance premiums, deductibles and copays.”
Other candidates want to keep private insurance, but only as a supplement to Medicare For All.
Biden would like to have a “public option” to “allow people to into government coverage without eliminating employer-based insurance.” Obama wanted this option in his 2009 Affordable Care Act, but could not get it through Congress. Biden believes “things are changing,” which means he could push it through Congress.

Biden also criticized his Democratic opponents for pushing ideas that would curtail the power of lawmakers and current Supreme Court justices, such as expansive use of executive orders, which Harris has proposed, and adding members to the Supreme Court, which South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg has backed.
“The idea that somehow we have decided that our system doesn’t work anymore, which I’m hearing some of them saying — that we’re going to, you know, pack the courts; we’re going to fundamentally change the way, I’m going to do what Trump did; if we take control, I’m going to go in there and I’m just going to, by executive order — what are we talking about?” he said.
How about this? Just leave me alone. I’ve said numerous times I have too many pre-existing conditions, and I do not want the government involved in my healthcare. Obamacare has caused insurance companies to raise prices, which forced me to choose a high deductible. Luckily, due to my pre-existing conditions, I hit it pretty quick.
Most people forget that doctors are there to help you. If you do not have insurance, they will likely work with you on payment plans or have you pay whatever you can afford. The medical community has seen a rise in direct primary care, which eliminates the need for insurance and has the patients pay directly.
I have noticed more cash-only centers in Oklahoma. One surgery center here made national news due to its practice. The center lists its prices and does not take insurance.
One woman needed a hysterectomy but did not have insurance. A friend told her about the Surgery Center of Oklahoma, which listed the procedure at $8,000. The price “included the cost of the procedure itself, an overnight stay, a follow-up appointment, and any other meetings ahead of time.” The woman drove to OKC and paid $30,000 less than what she would have paid at other places.
Stop making medicine so complicated. I do not get why people believe the medical sector is different from any other business. If they do not make a profit, they cannot stay in business, just like everyone else they deserve to make money for their hard work.

Obamacare was a huge con to get people who earn they way to receive less of what they earn so that those who earn nothing can receive more free stuff.
Then I suppose it would be ‘a virtue’ to eliminate Obamacare altogether.
Obamacare was designed from its inception to require the mandate.
It required the mandate because it limited the premium a high-risk insured could be charged to a multiple of the premium a low-risk insured would pay. This limit made Obamacare a poor value for someone who is low-risk, but since low-risk insureds were required to subsidize high-risk ones, those who were los-risk had to be forced to pay.
But the root problem here is the same as the root problem behind student-loan debt: runaway cost increases. Although medicine can at least boast that although it costs more, the product quality has (at least in some ares) has improved.
Proposed political solutions continue to fail because instead of finding ways to reduce actual costs they focus on providing subsidies to reduce out-of-pocket costs. In both cases the solution seems to have made things worse, as subsidies cause providers to chase the subsidies instead of chasing customers by providing cost-effective services, and as even out-of-pocket costs increase if/when real costs increase faster than the subsidies.
Nonetheless, it may be impossible to convince much of the electorate that services with low out-of-pocket costs due to government subsidies can be expected to combine unsustainable cost increases with ever-worsening quality.
Biden has turned into a pathetic character.
All that is missing are those “won’t you pull on my thumb jokes”.
Yes, Obamacare is so good that, at it beginning, the members of Congress and upper layers of the Executive branch exempted themselves by staying on their “employer’s coverage”. And when they found their staff would go on Obamacare the rules were changed and bent to exempt them also. So everyone involved in pushing Obamacare up our… oops, down our throats were denying themselves the pleasure of using it.
Now they want to mess with health coverage again. They have no concept of dealing with the medical world the rest of us live in, but decide they are competent to run it.
K Harris said the “Medicare for all” would spare people from arguing with insurance companies over coverages and allowed services. Obviously she thinks Medicare now just ponies up the bucks for what ever we oldersters want done. If she really believes that, I can still get her some of that beachfront property in Searchlight, NV, at a pretty good price.
How is it that the dumbest people ascend to such heights of power, and then stay there forever?
