More than 76,000 Illegal Immigrants Crossed the Southern Border Last Month
And immigration officials say that number is only going to increase
More than twice the number that crossed the same time last year. And according to immigration officials, the situation is only going to get worse.

Why are they coming in such vast numbers? Because smugglers have put them wise to how to take advantage of recent court decisions to claim asylum and remain here indefinitely.
They’re coming (mainly from Guatemala) in ever-larger groups, mostly families as opposed to individuals. They’ve been told that if they cross the border illegally, they only need cry “asylum.” And adults traveling with children have a better chance to stay.
Trump wants a wall to prevent that “one foot on American soil” rule. But what’s really needed is a change to our perverse asylum rules — which will take both political cooperation and compromise.
Consider: Officials say the biggest “pull factors” for migrant families are court settlements that not only bar deportations without lengthy proceedings, but also prevent the detainment of families for more than 20 days.
The Trump administration attempted to reinforce existing asylum regulations while closing oft-exploited loop holes. Democrats their media counterparts balked at the efforts. The ACLU even filed suit.
Thanks to the Democrat’s unwillingness to work with the Trump administration, not only will our immigration system be overloaded, but we’re headed towards a full-blown humanitarian crisis at the border warns Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan.

It’s not just the Democrats. This needs to be laid directly at the feet of the GOP, those who have failed to be supportive of the President. The very ones who do not see this as being a national crisis, emergency.

The problem is the progressive left doesn’t sleep, thinking about the things others are doing wrong, and how to stop them, for their own good. Conservatives, and normal people, just let people go their way. We sleep, they chip away.

The Republicans’ unwillingness to work with the Trump administration mattered more in the last two calendar years, but who’s counting.

I understand that CREDO is anti-Trump – but the timing of this news from Trump supporters is suspicious. The only place this information comes from is the NY Post, which translates to Rupert Murdoch. Can you spell Fox News?
Should illegals be considered “human”?
There needs to be a zero tolerance policy for illegals. Immediate deportation, after chipping them. Repeat offenders should be executed. Our paying to support 20-30 million of these people is outrageous.
I think that aliens with legitimate asylum claims should get proper treatment in the legal system and prompt placement…

The other 98.5% of border crossers should be placed on a bus and sent home. And not *given* a ticket for that, *placed* on the bus with the agreement with the bus service that their trip is non-refundable.
I think it would be less expensive to load them in a previously used, IE not cleaned animal transport, preferably one used to haul hogs, for their return trip.
Given that the USA is being invaded by tens of thousands of non-Americans, maybe it is time for martial law on the border? Suspend habeas corpus and all that? Tell Obama judges to FO?
The 76,000 figure appears to be the number of illegal crossers who were rounded up, otherwise it would be given as an estimate. But I seem to remember the INS claims only 20% of illegals are caught at the border. Is this still true? If so, there are 304,000 additional illegal aliens unaccounted for and roaming our country in February.
Wall ASAP to help curb these numbers! Ultimately though what needs to be done is to remove as many of the lures as we can for people to come into our country ILLEGALLY! And the two biggest thing in that regard is welfare reform and jobs. We really do need to make it so that only U.S. citizens and LEGAL residents can receive these benefits and work here.
We need lethal border countermeasures, and no treatment for invaders. This problem has dragged on for decades, numbers of illegals steadily increasing.

I thought in the waning days of the Obama Error the numbers were dipping fast. They were all afraid Trump would deport them so they stopped coming. Now they laugh at our own self-righteous asylum rules and have no fear of law enforcement. If the wall drama is going to play out forever, it’s time to significantly increase military presence on the border. Isn’t there a way we can physically and forcefully prevent them from touching our soil? Stop dilly dicking around and use crowd control gas and rubber bullets. At what point do we consider the threat high enough and use lethal force? Being invaded while our own Congress and Courts laugh about it is disgusting.
