Beto Gets His Own Crop Circle

Beto Gets His Own Crop Circle

“I love Beto. He has this special something that’s hard to put your finger on, but it’s a populist appeal. It’s eloquent, but it doesn’t seem like he’s talking over your head.”

Stan Herd is a crop artist. Using land, dirt, and plants he creates incredible masterpieces.

His latest work of art features a mug of failed Texas Senate Candidate and former Congressman, Beto O’Rourke. Revealed the same day Beto announced his presidential candidacy, the crop circle will remain intact for the remainder of the week.

Herd is a Beto fan (obvs) and told the Houston Chronicle, “I love Beto. He has this special something that’s hard to put your finger on, but it’s a populist appeal. It’s eloquent, but it doesn’t seem like he’s talking over your head.”

More from HC:

The work is on Carson Creek Ranch, crafted by mowing a fallow field of mixed grass and other plants, and adding mulch, rock, clay and pecan shells to create highlights and lowlights for a piece that’s the size of nearly two football fields.

The process took about two weeks; along the way, Herd posted on his Facebook page photos of his progress using a drone, plane, helicopter and a kite strapped with a GPS unit. The piece cost about $10,000 to $12,000 to make, though Herd said many people donated time and money once they learned about the project.

Since revealing the artwork Sunday, he said it’s elicited a huge response from the public through social media, one that he never imagined when he embarked on it.

“There are so many negative political stories out there, and this is kind of a feel-good story,” Herd said. “We’re not trying to say anything bad about anybody else, but we’re talking about who we think this candidate is.”

Herd said he has not yet heard from O’Rourke’s campaign, but he has offered to give the former El Paso congressman a personal tour.

O’Rourke has been referred to as the white Obama for several reasons — cadence, hand gestures, gangliness, having a platform of nothing, running the exact.same.campaign… which seems to attract the same kind of cult following and bizarre edification.

Politics aside, Stan Herd’s art is amazing. His rendition of Van Gough’s Olive Trees is awesome (in the actual sense of the word, not the colloquial watered down version).

Comments

I can’t imagine a self respecting rancher allow this sort of thing for some guy named Robert Francis O’Rourke, but, hey, it’s Austin.

Oh I don’t know… “Sure, I’ll sit on my porch and watch my cattle shit and piss all over Beta’s face all day long. Have at it son.”

Crop circle? Gotta be aliens.

Illegal ones, of course.

Dirt is appropriate; several news sites reported that he ate some after losing to Cruz.

Kinda strange though … kids usually outgrow that.

MrE, lol, I remember being caught by a neighbor kid’s nurse mom feeding dirt him clods (from a window box) after being told in first grade that dirt held the nutrients for life. Ala Hagrid, “I shouldn’t have said that, I shouldn’t have said that.”

“of mixed grass and other plants, and adding mulch, rock, clay and pecan shells” He forgot the manure.

Creating a fantasy of another obama?

Please. We had one obama, and we had one maddoff. This crap won’t work again for 100 years.

“Stan Herd… creates incredible masterpieces.”

Horse hockey.

Go back to review your Art History 101 class, Kemberlee.

Then go fetch me my lawn mower.

I has a guy who is a patient of mine tell me Beto reminds him of RFK.

I fortunately didn’t puke on the spot but I think it exposes what Progressives look for.

A candidate they think is so likeable that he or she can sell tyranny and socialism.

Obama was such a candidate.

The problem is Beto is no Obama and he is White and we are all done for awhile with being swept up in a BS artist selling Hope and Change.

Beto will crash and burn becuase a snake-oil salesman can’t come through town right after another one has fleeced everyone.

It’s all about the image. The shell is what counts. Doesn’t matter what is inside.

The first time I saw Obama, I immediately said, “empty suit.”

I think the same about this jerk, but the Dems are reacting to him the same way they did to Former Dear Leader.

    Sad.

He does remind one of RFK – RFK’s corpse, that is.

O’Rourke is zero in the kardashian/cortez era of stupid-by-leftst-design, facilitated by the rats of the GOPe.

The worst possible thing a farmer can do to abuse disc plows and harrows? Sow the land with rocks and sticks and other stuff not made of dirt since rocks and non-farming artsy stuff tend to chip and break harrow tines and discs.

Campaign donations like this art and phoney article-cum-campaign ad need to be tracked and the equal time clause needs to be involked.

Milhouse in reply to Tiki. | March 20, 2019 at 11:06 pm

There is no such thing as an “equal time clause”. And this is not a campaign donation unless the O’Rourke campaign asked for it. This artist is entitled to campaign for whomever he likes, just as you and I are entitled to do the same. This whole site is a giant campaign ad for the candidates Prof J endorses; do you think there’s something wrong or illegal about that?! Or that there is some law that could compel him to give “equal time” to candidates he opposes?! Of course not; so why do you think this landscape artist is any different?

Sick, really sick

The Peter Sellers movie “Being There” becomes real life. Again.

And I thought Obama was the ultimate “empty suit”.

This guy makes Obama look like Churchill.

Conrad Black suggested a special psychiatric counsel be appointed in Texas to investigate how Beto did so well in the race against Cruz.

No one can accuse the New Democrats of talking over anyone’s head.

He has that pre-assassination Kennedy profile.

His new monument “Stoned Unhinged”

Bob has crop art but it can’t compete with Obamas’s Greek columns. Those Democrats really dive into idolatry don’t they?

“Democrats really dive into idolatry don’t they?…”

They created and perpetuated pop culture and have used it well over the decades to fill a lot of empty suits and pants suits, including a GOPe useful idiot they flattered into betraying his country merely by refering to him as “The Maverick.”

I did not graduate high school and Beto doesn’t have the ability to talk over my head. Great press support though.
