Uh Oh – Elizabeth Warren registered with Texas State Bar as “American Indian”

WaPo: “On the line for “race,” Warren neatly printed, “American Indian.””

Elizabeth Warren’s Native American Controversy just got worse for her. A lot worse.

Not only did she falsely claim to be Native American for employment purposes, it turns out she registered as “American Indian” when she filled out her Texas Bar card.

Annie Linsky and Amy Gardner of The Washington Post reports:

Using an open records request during a general inquiry, for example, The Post obtained Warren’s registration card for the State Bar of Texas, providing a previously undisclosed example of Warren identifying as an “American Indian.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/elizabeth-warren-apologizes-for-calling-herself-native-american/2019/02/05/1627df76-2962-11e9-984d-9b8fba003e81_story.html?utm_term=.fcc05eafbd80

Warren filled out the card by hand in neat blue ink and signed it. Dated April 1986, it is the first document to surface showing Warren making the claim in her own handwriting. Her office didn’t dispute its authenticity….

The Texas bar registration card is significant, among other reasons, because it removes any doubt that Warren directly claimed the identity. In other instances Warren has declined to say whether she or an assistant filled out forms.

The card shows her name, her gender and the address for the University of Texas law school in Austin, where she was working at the time….

On the line for “race,” Warren neatly printed, “American Indian.” She left blank lines for “National Origin” and “Physical handicap” and signed the document.

“She is sorry that she was not more mindful of this earlier in her career,” said Kristen Orthman, a Warren campaign spokeswoman.

Warren filled out the card after being admitted to the Texas bar. Warren was doing legal work on the side, but nothing that required bar admission in the state, according to her campaign.

The date coincided with her first listing as a “minority” by the Association of American Law Schools. Warren reported herself as minority in the directory every year starting in 1986 — when AALS first included a list of minority law professors — to 1995, when her name dropped off the list.

*Funny* how she never volunteered this information. As with everything, she denies denies denies, until more information is dug out by others. Then she only admits what people already have uncovered.

Democrats are worried Warren’s Native American controversy will be like Hillary’s emails — completely dominating the narrative of her campaign. Warren has not been forthcoming with information, Democrats should be very worried. What else is out there? What other shoes will drop if Democrats nominate her?

The reaction has been swift.

Too bad there’s not something on the card that says she makes that declaration under penalty of perjury.

Too bad for Warren that she didn’t write it down in smoke signals.

It’s in the fine print..Note on the bottom of form under signature:
    (See Reverse side if Necessary)
You really don’t know that by signing the form card she was NOT averring to a statement of being truthful and to acknowledge she read a separate statement of rules and policy that may very well would be grounds to have membership and/or being disbarred for perjury. It’s hard to believe that such a detail would be missing from entry to a State American Bar Assn.

It’s so great to see Republicans actually fighting back for a change.

ugottabekiddinme in reply to snopercod. | February 5, 2019 at 8:35 pm

    This isn’t the Republicans’ doing.

It’s the Washington Post that apparently made the records request and the ran the story.

They are undermining Warren’s chances early because she’s clearly not nearly leftist enough and way too centrist for the Post.

    They’re all gaga over Kamalalalala.

    Mainly Prof. Jacobson and Trump.

Locally credit must be given to the Boston Herald, particularly columnist Howie Carr and WBZ radio personality Dan Rae with whom I believe the Professor has appeared at least once.

Princess Sh!tting Bull lied about being a Native American for one reason: to advance her career.

Most interesting is that the knife in her back is delivered by the WaPO….Dem/thug primary is going to be crazy.

Lieawatha, indeed.

Better go into the kitchen and get another beer, Lizzie, it’s gonna be a rough campaign.

Fake Indian, fake African American.
Change you can’t believe in.

Speaking of old, well-seasoned Frauds…..

Bernie Sanders Comically Pretends to be On the Phone, Even Though His Phone Display Shows No Current Call, In Order to Avoid Answering if He Believes Vanessa Tyson, Justin Fairfax’s Accuser

Perhaps the liberal establishment has bombs to drop on anyone not named Kamala Harris.

The likes of Ward Churchill and Rachel Dolezal pretended to be a race other than white, but they actually tried to help the communities they were appropriating. What did Warren do for the Native American community other than lie to use them for employment?

    Not one damn thing… ever.

Elizabeth Warren contributed genuine American Indian recipes from Pierre Franey, that famous French Indian, to Pow Wow Chow, a book of American Indian cooking.
Native Americans are eternally grateful to Elizabeth Warren for that contribution. 🙂

Would her acceptance with the Texas Bar not be predicated on her being an attorney, in good standing, with the New Jersey, the source of her initial bar acceptance?

New Jersey has no provision for “inactive” law licensing, to my understanding.

Previous to her being identified as an American Indian, Ms. Warren was never registered to practice law in Massachusetts. Fauxcahontas says that she never practiced law in Massachusetts… despite having been described as counsel of record on certain filings.

Ms. Warren seems, to me, to be a despicable liar and wanton outlaw with reckless regard for regulation or law.

All-in-all, a sort of Hillary-esque impostor without benefit of a horndawg husband.

Edward in reply to NotKennedy. | February 6, 2019 at 8:10 am

I don’t know about NJ, but IIRC states have no requirement that an attorney admitted before the bar, and paying bar dues, be currently and actively practicing in the state, nor a requirement that a lawyer give up their bar membership to practice in another state.

Edward in reply to Edward. | February 6, 2019 at 8:14 am

Forgot to add that if Texas and NJ have no reciprocal agreement, she would have had to either take the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE), if both states are UBE states, or taken the bar exam in each of the two states.

Hmmm. Lizzie’s chances get worse by the day. Must be time for Hillary to jump in!

She, like Occasional-Cortex, is just the gift that keeps on giving.

The left can investigate Trump for years and find nothing. It appears any Dem candidate lights up with the most cursory of investigations.

I don’t want to come across as a misogynist. Adam Schiff-for-brains is right up there in the same pantheon. I felt it needed to be said.

“The left can investigate Trump for years and find nothing. It appears any Dem candidate lights up with the most cursory of investigations.”

Like a Christmas tree, Cowboy.

Her diversity class (e.g. race, color, sex, gender) is her Choice… I mean, choice. #NoJudgment That said, throw another baby on the barbie, they have jumped the Ass, again, and again, and again.

It’s all a simple misunderstanding. I’m sure Senator Warren thought it was an application to drink firewater at a bar. I believe in Oklahoma which is where she was born, Indians are required to register to drink at a “white-man” bar.

(Use Reverse Side if Necessary)

Maybe she wrote “Haha, just kidding!” on the back.

She’s going to have to come up with a pretty clever excuse for this one. Otherwise, this is that little “click” which tells us that somebody’s just stepped on a land mine.

We have laws saying that race must not be a factor in hiring. But those laws are violated all the time for “affirmative action” or “diversity” or whatever the current euphemism for racism is. If employers (like Harvard) would stop their racial discrimination, then people like Warren wouldn’t have a motive to claim any particular race to get preferences.

Just more confirmation of what we already knew – FRAUD!!!

Warren got her JD at Rutgers after undergrad at the University of Houston. As a white woman, she had no chance of a Harvard appointment with those credentials.

walls in reply to zennyfan. | February 5, 2019 at 11:39 pm

Yes – at the time, Rutgers Law was ranked #184. Harvard traditionally hires from top ten law schools … and there is a BIG difference between 10 and 184.

Milhouse in reply to zennyfan. | February 6, 2019 at 12:26 am

BS. She didn’t even apply to Harvard, they came looking for her. At that point she was a tenured professor at Penn, with a named chair, and had achieved national prominence in her field; at that point nobody gave a **** where she had got her degree.

Observer in reply to Milhouse. | February 6, 2019 at 11:59 am

Warren was included in Harvard’s federal Affirmative Action records until 2004.

Warren listed herself as a Native American in the Association of American Law Schools Directory of Faculty from 1986 – 1995.

Although Warren stopped listing herself as a Native in the Directory after Harvard hired her, Harvard still referred to Warren as a minority.

In a 1996 article in the Harvard Crimson, Harvard spokesman Mike Chmura said that although many of Harvard’s students thought the law school had no minority faculty, that was not true because Professor of Law Elizabeth Warren is a Native American.

Harvard knew that Warren claimed to be Native American when it hired her, and it hired her at a time when it was being widely criticized for not having any minorities on its law school faculty. It’s naive to think that Warren’s fake ethnicity didn’t have anything to do with her hiring.

So they just came looking for her? And, notwithstanding that she has exploited racial politics for her own professional advantage for years (up to the present), she never, ever reached out and lobbied for this position using her claimed minority status? Where did you get your inside information? Her autobiography? Her overrated academic writings? Pow WoW Chow?

Who Did Washington Post endorse for 2020 PotUS??

DINORightMarie | February 5, 2019 at 11:31 pm

So…….why now? Why and how did the WaPo get ahold of that record?!

I am sure many have asked, submitted FOIAs, etc.

Definitely to derail her as a viable candidate – especially after her DNA fiasco. She is the Hillary of this campaign, as many above said, but without the “it’s her turn” and “she was the FIRST LADY AND BILL WILL GET HIS THIRD TERM THIS WAY” folks giving her support.

I am thankful, but still concerned that the newly anointed Kamala will get the cover and protection from the media that Obama got. But her “sleeping her way to the top” may just be a little too much for the #MeToo crowd.

Glad she has finally been exposed for the stinking liar we always knew she was. Thank you, Professor – you stuck by your guns and did not waiver. Truth is truth, and you were right all along. Now the world will know, and the WaPo publishing it makes it clear she is NOT the one the left has been waiting for.

What’s with these Democrats? I’m probably not a Democrat because I’m perfectly fine with being an American of Italian descent. BTW, you best bow your head when heading south on I-5 and passing through Camp Pendleton by Basilone Road.

Clearing the field for Obama or Harris.

We had best remember that what we call a major hit on any Dem’s character is usually a plus for them. Lying, cheating, infidelity, getting caught taking advantage of their government positions, hating America, hating all religion except islam and on and on. This actually makes them more desirable within their sick party.

Previously MSM made Barry king. Now Barry will Make name his own king or queen. And ir would never be Warren.

But, i’ll bet the democrats are still sticking to the lie that she never used her fake native American shtick to further her academic or personal career. If they’re not, she’s officially toast.

This is just typical leftist behavior to lie and deceive at every turn.

Stick a tomahawk in her. She’s done.

Two questions 1. Is there any penalty for lying on your Bar Application in Texas? It’s immaterial to your qualifications to practice law other than a moral issue regarding honesty.

2. Is this the only application for a law license she claimed to be a Native American?
