December 2018

It has been 7 months since the famous purveyor of caffeinated confection, Starbucks, declared their bathrooms "open to the public" without the need to purchase their products. Data suggests that the virtue signaling isn't working out as well as hoped by the corporate leaders. A New York Post team investigated several Manhattan bathrooms and found that there wasn't an open stall.

When Airbnb announced in mid-November 2018 that it would delist Jewish homes in Judea & Samaria (the "West Bank"), the move met with cheers from anti-Israel activists, who had worked for years to pressure Airbnb. The U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (fka U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation) is an umbrella group for numerous anti-Israel activists and groups supporting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. USCPR is one of the most extreme anti-Israel groups, as we have documented numerous times.

A sentencing memo released Tuesday night has thrown a kink in the investigation of Trump's former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. In the memo issued by Flynn's attorneys are allegations that the FBI intentionally lied to Flynn about the necessity of having representation during their initial interview as well as an alleged effort to intentionally omit the consequences of lying to FBI agents during what was allegedly made out to be a casual conversation.

In December 2017, The Washington Post reported how the Office of Compliance for Congress paid over $17 million for 264 settlements and awards over various violations, including sexual harassment. Now Congress has agreed on a bill that members of Congress will be responsible for their own settlements instead of the tax payer. As of now, "settlements are paid through taxpayer-funded accounts members use to pay for office salaries and expenses."

Turkey is preparing a military offensive against the U.S.-backed Syrian Kurds, Turkish state-run media sources say. "We will start our operation in a few days to liberate areas east of the Euphrates River from terrorist organizations," President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared in a speech in Ankara Wednesday, referring to the presence of Kurdish forces in neighboring Syria. Kurds, fighting alongside the Assyrian Christians, had played a key role in liberating large parts of Syrian and Iraqi territories from the Islamic State.

In recent posts we have discussed how anti-Israel faculty at some universities and colleges have gone rogue. Knowing that their institutions reject the academic boycott of Israel, these faculty members impose the boycott on students to deprive students of educational opportunities to study on approved programs in Israel.

California regulators are among the most creative rule-makers when it comes to separating citizens from their money. Take, for instance, this amazing new proposal to tax text messages in the name of "Economic Justice."
California regulators are considering a plan to charge a fee for text messaging on mobile phones to help fund programs that make phone service accessible to the poor.

For some reason, Sports Illustrated chose Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who this summer accused Supreme Court nominee (now Justice) Brett Kavanaugh of a sexual assault 40 years ago, to announce the magazine chose former gymnast Rachael Denhollander to receive its Inspiration of the Year award. Denhollander became the first gymnast to speak out against former Michigan State and USA gymnast doctor Larry Nassar for sexual assault. WHY?! Now everyone is paying attention to Ford instead of Denhollander and other Nassar victims.

In April of this year, Laura Ingraham of FOX News faced a full-blown boycott campaign for being mildly critical of David Hogg. Just last week, comedian Kevin Hart lost his gig as host of the Oscars when the media dredged up gay jokes he made on Twitter years ago. Yesterday, Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC's Morning Joe, used a gay slur to describe Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Where is the angry mob? Why does Mika get a pass?
