Last December, a grand jury indicted Charlottesville suspect James Alex Fields on 10 felony counts.  Fields has been found guilty of first-degree murder and of several other offenses.  He faces possible life in prison.

Fox News reports:

Just over a year after he plowed his vehicle into a crowd protesting a white nationalist rally, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer, James Alex Fields Jr. was convicted Friday of first-degree murder and other felonies – and now faces the possibility of life in prison.

A jury needed a little more than seven hours to convict Fields, of Maumee, Ohio, in the killing of Heyer during a “Unite the Right” rally in Virginia on Aug. 12, 2017.

He was also found guilty of five counts of aggravated malicious wounding, three counts of malicious wounding and a count of leaving the scene of an accident. Fields faces life in prison.

During closing arguments Thursday, prosecutor Nina-Alice Antony portrayed Fields as a hateful young man who idled his vehicle for more than a minute before backing up and then speeding into the crowd, killing Heyer and injuring dozens of other people.

So . . . it was determined to be an accident?

First degree seems a bit steep for an accident.

What about those videos showing he was trying to get away from those thugs beating on his car with bats?

a hateful young man who idled his vehicle for more than a minute

Does this pass as premeditation?

Two questions.
What is the difference between manslaughter and murder?
How long had he known her before he decided to kill her?

It is likely that he couldn’t have had a jury anywhere in the nation which didn’t have all members “knowledgeable” about the incident from MSM coverage. But the refusal to change the venue was more likely than not a contributor to this decision.

Found guilty via biased political correctness.

Wonder what will happen on appeal.

What’s the background on this guy? As the media hasn’t been saying much about him does that mean he’s Not a Registered Republican?

Crikey!! Are you people actually looking for extenuating circumstances for this sonofabitch?

A jury recommended life plus 419 years on Tuesday for a man convicted of killing a woman and injuring dozens when he drove his car into counterprotesters at a white nationalist rally in Virginia.

James Alex Fields Jr stood with his hands folded in front of him as a court clerk read the verdict, which now must be taken under advisement by the judge, who will issue the final sentence. Judge Richard Moore scheduled a sentencing hearing for March 29.

The jury reached its verdict after deliberating for about four hours over two days. Judges in Virginia often impose the sentence recommended by juries. Under state law, they can impose lower sentences than what the jury recommends, but cannot increase them.

Before issuing its recommendation, the jury asked Moore if the sentences would run consecutively or concurrently. He replied that sentences usually run consecutively, but that jurors could recommend concurrent sentences if they choose.
