Ford calls it quits on Kavanaugh: Wants no prosecution, no investigation, no impeachment

Ford calls it quits on Kavanaugh: Wants no prosecution, no investigation, no impeachment

Democrats want to keep going after Kavanaugh, once again disregarding her wishes.

Christine Blasey Ford’s letter to Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) kicked off what has to be—and will go down in history as being—among the most embarrassing and shameful episodes related to the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice in recent memory.

Feinstein chose to sit on the letter and only reveal it after the confirmation hearings had concluded, putting Ford in the unenviable position of having to present her testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee under the media spotlight and with all the hopes and dreams of vindication of the radical left on her shoulders.

She couldn’t deliver.  The persons she claimed were witnesses were unable to substantiate her claims, and it didn’t help that her story didn’t hold up even under the most casual scrutiny.  Where did this assault take place? She didn’t know.  When did it take place?  She didn’t know.  How did she get to the location of the assault or get home from that same location?  She didn’t know.  Who was there?  She claimed that four people were and named them, but none of them substantiated her claim.

Republicans did everything they could to hear her out, even offering at one point to come to California since she claimed she had a fear of flying (a fear that is debunked by her extensive air travel records).  She had her day in front of the Senate committee, and it didn’t go well for her.

To her credit, she appears to be done with the entire thing and expresses no interest in making the destruction of Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh her life’s work.  Indeed, Ford’s lawyers have publicly stated that she does not wish to see Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh impeached nor does she want further investigation into her claims.

ABC News reports:

With a Senate confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh all but guaranteed, Christine Blasey Ford has no further plans to pursue her sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh.

When asked about the possibility of impeachment proceedings, attorney Deborah Katz told CNN: “Professor Ford has not asked for anything of the sort. What she did was to come forward and testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee and agree to cooperate with any investigation by the FBI, and that’s what she sought to do here.”

“She does not want him to be impeached?” CNN’s Dana Bash later asked.

“No,” Katz replied flatly.

Ford’s attorney Lisa Banks added that Ford feels she did the right thing by testifying and has no regrets.

According to Ford’s attorney, Ford wanted to be heard, she was, and now she wants to move on with her life.

CNN reports:

Ford’s attorney Debra Katz tells CNN’s Dana Bash in an interview that Ford only wanted to tell her story to Senate Judiciary Committee members. She doesn’t want the process to drag on into the next Congress should Democrats end up winning control on Capitol Hill.

“Professor Ford has not asked for anything of the sort. What she did was to come forward and testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee and agree to cooperate with any investigation by the FBI and that’s what she sought to do here,” Katz said.

She came forward, and she was heard.  And now, she’s done.

I’m good with that, but I suspect we’ll be hearing very soon that we can’t accept Ford’s decision.  After all, everyone has to believe and support the “survivor” . . . until they say or do something rational, like give up on a lost battle.

As Sean Spicier (the parody) Tweeted, she can now play the lead in Mrs. Magoo.

Ford couldn’t even get the PD in Montgomery county, MD to investigate without a date or location. Her story was made up out of whole cloth and now she’s got a million dollars in her gofundme account. Better than bank robbery, seems to me.

Hopefully, with the new found Republican testosterone, that money will be here only for a short time. Sue the witch.

And the best part is: GoFundMe refuses to allow conservative causes. So it’s only partisan Democrat tools and Trump haters that get to cash in this way.

Adding profit motive to a long list. I think she is hoping to walk away now, lets make sure she receives real justice. I have had enough #MeTooLiars crap. String them up.

randian in reply to Dave. | October 6, 2018 at 11:42 pm

Those GoFundMe accounts (there was more than one if I recall correctly) should be investigated for evidence of bribery.

I imagine that she’d rather have the Senate forget about all the “inconsistencies” in her testimony. Time to take all that GoFundMe cash and get out of Dodge until Republican memories fade.

Damage control. I say burn her and her helpers.

So, she willing to drop the whole accusaton, now that Kavanaugh has been confirmed. I’m sure that the fact that there is no evidence that any of her story is true, that the statute of limitations on the reported incident have long since lapsed, that, if she and her story are further invetigated, she might end up facing criminal charges and she made a pile of money through her Go Fund Me accounts have absolutely nothing to do with her decision. How nice of her.

Sundance over at the treehouse dissembling the Deep State brick, by brick, by brick.
The appearance of former Deputy AG David Laufman and former FBI IG Michael Bromwich at Christine Blasey Frauds table is notable.

She understands that if the Democrats don’t let go her entire story will be eventually exposed.

I’d bet anything her therapist didn’t write the wrong things down in those notes and the actual alleged attack took place in her late teens and she knows far more about the party than she’s letting on.

In other words she knows Kavanaugh wasn’t there. That gets exposed and it will ruin her.

    david7134 in reply to Blueshot. | October 7, 2018 at 3:04 am

You can’t ruin trailer trash, which is what her life turned into with all that fancy education that broke her parents.

No, she cannot just go away. Neither can her handlers.

She was not honest. Her handlers were not honest. Senator DiFi was not honest. The (D)s on the committee and the Senate were not honest.

It is time to get the investigation going on their lies and dirty deeds.

The Senate “fellow” who doxxed several Rs, and then threatened to expose children’s info if he was exposed, needs to be tried and sent to prison for a long time.

Unless there are consequences for their actions and if the Rs do not follow up on the issues that were exposed here, then they can expect even worse behavior the next time.

/rant off….

The hard left has been slapped hard and they know it. What will they do when Ginsberg gets replaced…nothing, just sit down and whimper! They know that the Republicans will fight back, yet they still have that craving for power that needs met.

I wouldn’t be surprised with an assassination attempt being made on select people in authority, but the cat is out of the bag. The libs are going to have a hard time wrangling the Republicans for a few years.

      david7134 in reply to C. Lashown. | October 7, 2018 at 3:05 am

That is going to be an all out war.

Tom Servo in reply to C. Lashown. | October 7, 2018 at 8:00 am

Agree with you Lashown – they tried every dirty trick in the book with this nomination, and it failed! They have nothing left to try, what do they do next time? They’re already starting to accuse Amy Coney Barrett of being a “cult member” – because she’s a very serious Roman Catholic, of course. But I don’t think that’s going to work.

Kavanaugh was the perfect pick this time, he united all of the Republicans behind Trump. Barrett is the perfect pick for the next vacancy – RBG’s seat, hopefully.

Trump picked Kavanaugh, in part, because he was not expected to be a controversial pick. He was a Bush guy, not particularly conservative, good family man, long track record, praised by his colleagues of all persuations….

Then the Democrats picked this hill to die on.

They aren’t the ‘radical left’. They are Democrats.

I believe that Ford thought she was telling the truth most of the time, although the nonsense about not being able to fly was clearly a lie. I think she has a false recovered memory of what happened. False recovered memories tend to be dreamlike, where you vividly remember the trauma, but the details (place, time, how you got there, etc.) are fuzzy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_memory_syndrome

People who say that women should always be believed are apparently unaware of the lynchings of hundreds of black men in the 19th and 20th centuries. Accusations of rape were the third largest cause of lynchings, after murder and “all other causes.” I wonder if the people who say we should always believe the woman really think that all those lynched black men deserved what they got. I suspect most of them were innocent.

Everything she said was a lie, everything, even the “second” door in the house. It was for the freakin therapist who kept her office after selling the house to ford. It was to separate the house and her office.
I can’t believe ANYONE would believe her BS. The connections to the Clintons is all there, this was made up crap!

      Merlin01 in reply to gonzotx. | October 7, 2018 at 7:54 am

She even stated in her testimony that the second front door was used for Google interns staying in her home. It was never an escape route because of her phobia (of course caused by the assualt).

She was and is a basket case. We all know someone just like her, a victim, someone who blames everyone else but turns out she has mental issues.

I have to disagree with you that she was telling the truth “Most of the time”. When you are telling “Your” story you do not need to read it! She looked at her notes the entire time she spoke. She never did as Kavanaugh did and spoke from her heart. Every move was look down first and then proceed with her reading. When you have a tale from 36 years ago it should be burned into her brain and no notes would be needed. What was even more telling was that she couldn’t even remember something that happened two weeks before! I hope that her BFF from Rehoboth has to swear under penalty of law that she was not coached by Ford on her lie detector test. So far she has not had to do that. One last thing. I would like a recording of her teaching a class and see if she had that baby voice then. I think it was rehearsed BS!

What? I can’t believe she no longer wants to pursue her false sexual assault allegations after receiving over a million dollars and did not go to jail.

Even if she was really sexually assaulted—and that’s a My. Everest sized “if”—she lied and/obfuscated about everything else. Why should we believe her now? What’s to say that a year from now or 20 that she and the Dems won’t try this again?

Anthony‏ @AntFletch28
Replying to @abc7newsbayarea

So she won’t tell the police about it but wanted an FBI investigation and a senate hearing because it meant that much to her. At this point everyone now knows it was all just done for political reasons so the Democrats could gain which makes Christine Ford an absolute monster

The official Dem position is “We Believe Survivors.”

Which explains why Ted Kennedy didn’t leave one.

She’s no longer of any use now that she played her part in the (barely) unsuccessful smear campaign. There will be no more free DNC sponsored lawyers, and there’s no way she’s using that GoFundMe money to pay for her own.

Thank God Brett had awesome fortitude to stand up to evil, and some of the repubs decided to show that they DO have a backbone after all.

And thank you, Nancy, for letting us know how this all works, with the press validation of your DNC smears: https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4674689/wrap-smear

She knew that if the Dems managed to keep Kavanaugh off the SC with her testimony, they would defend her. They didn’t, and now she knows they’re going to punt her under the bus so fast…

Her best move is to back out slowly, cash her GoFundMe account, and quietly repeat what she’s said so far, and *only* what she’s said so far at any women’s group meetings she’s invited to speak at. Even a book deal is a little problematic, because it involves setting down certain things in print where they really need to remain flexible so she can keep moving them around when she needs to.

Is what I’ve read about DiFi’s husband being a regent where Ford teaches true?????

When your objective fails, and what follows can land you in Leavenworth…..

To her credit, she appears to be done with the entire thing and expresses no interest in making the destruction of Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh her life’s work.

No credit for that. She did her worst, sniping at Kavanaugh from under cover, and she missed. She’s out of ammo and out of stamina. I don’t buy a shred of the “po’ abused little victim” malarky. This person is as evil and depraved as the other D’rats. (Yes, she’s also “disturbed” . . . but that doesn’t make her less evil or depraved.) Something should be done about it, or the political future of the United States will consist of a never-ending stream of the same bullshit. When I say I want to see a pyramid of skulls of Washington, it’s not because I think they would look nice against the draperies. It’s because the Democratic cancer is metastasizing as we watch, and will worsen rapidly until it kills the body politic if we don’t cauterize it pronto.

Indictments for perjury. Trials. Convictions would be nice. Prison terms need not be long, but there have to be some, or the D’rat plans of “fundamental transformation” of the country will proceed as scheduled.

The evidence was silent on the allegation(s).

Sorry Dr Ford, it’s not over yet. Now who was it, Tattaglia or Barzini? Who approached you first?

“nor does she want further investigation into her claims”

Of course not, further investigation might result in charges against her.

She ruined his name already. There’s nothing that he can do that will wash away the stain.

amwick in reply to Mikey. | October 7, 2018 at 4:59 pm

I don’t see a stain. Many people don’t. They see an attempt to ruin a good man, a smart man, an attempt, nothing more.

“To her credit, she appears to be done with the entire thing and expresses no interest in making the destruction of Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh her life’s work.”

Uh, no, she doesn’t want the fact that the entire thing was a carefully manufactured lie from front to back to become both public knowledge and legally actionable. For example, Swetnick worked for Ford’s Dad. For a dozen years. Go check out brassballs.blog for some publicly available but rarely posted info.
Now think about what was likely in all of that social media history that was mysteriously and completely scrubbed.

It’s not just the perjury trap, its years of keeping the fake up talk going, of not flying to Hawaii and back, of having to endure persistent and skeptical scutiny.

“she appears to be done with the entire thing and expresses no interest in – ”

“And now youse can’t leave”

Next head on the chopping block: that other fraud, sessions. Hopefully his replacement will prosecute this perjurer.

She willfully committed perjury and willingly participated in a plot to ruin a man’s life for the sake of politics. She should be prosecuted along with her coterie of associates who cooked up this nefarious scheme. Absolutely shameful and disgusting.

Because any further prosecution would require discovery and for her to pay for her own lawyers

Only a fool would swallow the lie that Blasey Ford wanted any of this to remain private.

What she wanted was to use her lies to derail Kavanaugh’s nomination from the shadows. In that respect, only, she wanted to be private.

    She wrote to the WAPO!

With as much as her story kept falling apart, her lawyers…handlers…Feinstien’s lawyers. may have decided to 86 her realizing that she couldn’t hold up the scrutiny , nor was she willing to devote the time and effort to memorizing the full party line of what they wanted the story to be so she could be more convincing. She’s a liability now so best to let her slink away so that they can eventually memory hole as much of her as possible before too much light gets shined on Sen Feinstein and her involvement.

Reminds me of the final scene of first Bourne movie …

“I don’t want to do this anymore”
“I don’t think that’s a decision you can make”

This has been the end game all along. Ford isn’t going to push it, because her fraud will be revealed.

This fake story is like the Steele dossier. In fact, if allows the same pattern and has people linked to the first effort in the second.

Here is the pattern using the “Cohen went to Prague to meet the Russians story.

1. A group of people create a fake story that sounds remotely plausible out of public records. In the Kavanaugh case, the group can use as little as three sources to compile what they needed; Judge’s book, Kavahaugh’s speeches, and yearbooks (not to mention any allies on the Left that actually knew Kavanaugh) . From what I’ve read in open sources alone you can get his friends, locations, basic habits and activities.

A perfect example of data mining showing up in an accusation is the Steele claim Cohen went to Prague. Somehow someone (think Nellie Ohr accessing raw NSA data) obtained passport details showing a “Michael Cohen” went to Prague. That data was pushed over to either Simpson or Steele. It was put in the dossier as a fact.

2. A person is picked who can lend credibility to the lie.

Steele goes public as the credible face in front of the group behind the smear. He is a veteran MI6 agent with Russian contacts. He is intentionally vague is certain details stopping those interested in vetting the story from discovering it’s a lie. The hope is Trump loses and none of this is challenged.

Ford follows the same pattern. Ford is pumped up professionally to prove she is above reproach. Only now some people who are looking into her are finding her reported credentials may not be accurate.

This gives the media a public excuse not to doubt the sources, so they have no reason to check into the sources.

3. Then release the story to the media and politicians to create articles “proving” the claim.

Steele worked with the FBI/CIA and Brennan was working with Harry Reid. Most MSM stations were eager to take in any lies.

Ford works with Feinstein. We are now learning this relationship started early, maybe prior to the letter, which is why Feinstein looks so panicked when questioned.

Like Steele, Ford hoped, incorrectly it turns out, that the letter and accusation would get Kavanaugh to quit and nothing will be challenged.

4. Sell the lie repeatedly, regardless of questions of accuracy.

In the Steele dossier the claim is Cohen was the back channel for Trump. Turns out the “Michael Cohen” wasn’t Trump’s Cohen, but by then the damage was done. Trump works for the Russians. And no matter what he does, that is what a Google search result will reflect. But if you remember, early on Cohen produced his passport saying “It wasn’t me!!!” And it didn’t matter by that time.

Ford’s story is “credible” in a time when we have to believe all women. No one questions her immediately. By the time a reasonable person realizes they are being duped by changing details and witnesses refuting her claims, the damage is done and Kavanaugh will be branded as a predator for the rest of his life.

4. Interfere with and threaten anyone who wants to follow up on the lies and obstruct the efforts to find the truth.

Steele refuses to appear in Congress. Those who were selling the lies early are now all lawyered up and refusing to cooperate. Rosenstein is blocking the release of the documents that blows off the lid.

Ford has not reached that point yet. But her lifelong friend and co-writer of the letter, retired FBI McLean, has lawyered up already. Not surprisingly using a Obama DOJ lawyer. (An update now has Ford suddenly wanting to quit all this and go home. I guess she suddenly recovered from her PTSD trauma of 36yrs. )

As we speak, the old guard Republicans are willing to let this go. I hope Trump will not. If the Republicans hold Congress, Trump should pile headlong into this mess and demand people be held accountable. Street fighting the Democrats flummoxes them because they have never had one with a Republican before.

Most Americans, regardless of their political stripe, understand what happened and would not blame Kavanaugh one bit if he walked up to Schumer and said, “Say that again, to my face.”

    CincyJan in reply to archer52. | October 8, 2018 at 10:05 pm

Interesting theory. I certainly believe that Ford was found and coached, as part of a Democratic plan to block Kavanaugh’s appointment to the Supreme Court. I believe there are similar plans to block every name on Trump’s list of potential nominees. Furthermore, various Go Fund Me pages have raised a purpoted $1,000,000. (I myself saw one for about $574,000 and there were several others.) Not a bad pay day.

    pwaldoch in reply to archer52. | October 17, 2018 at 2:33 pm

Damn good analysis there. The Libs have always gone to the well using the same playbook for forever now. After a while why will develop patterns in their deceptions.

In other words, she turns tail and runs!

Haven’t heard anything about Muller lately, have we?

Crickets…

So … IF Ford formally withdraws her letter from Feinstein and her attorney, would the Dems have any basis to launch an investigation in January should they (shudder) retake the House?

If Ford really wished for confidentiality, and DiFi violates it, then why isn’t she angry about it? I know I am projecting here, but if someone breaks my confidence, then the last thing I want to do is pretend that everything is “all good”.

The plan was hatched, Ford must have been fine with seeing it through, and when it didn’t work, she is getting off the train. She tried and failed….she is moving on.

pwaldoch in reply to jaudio. | October 17, 2018 at 2:37 pm

Exactly. I didn’t “want to go public”, wink wink.
Unless those GoFundMe pages seriously step up their game, she’s just gonna take the money and run. Of course if Soros starts funneling some serious money into to those GoFundMes,she might change her mind.

Vile, nasty woman has earned a nomination for the coveted Linda Tripp award for being disgusting.

difi clutching the fake letter, prancing out of her office to toss it like a hand grenade into the Judge Kavenaugh nomination process sort of reminds me of candy crowley prancing across the stage clutching the letter to save obama from Romney. The democrats cheat. They lie. They are hypocrites. Never vote democrat.

PSSST. Hey. Want to make a million bucks? All you have to do is…..

Seems to me Ford’s allegations she swore to be true wouldn’t be libelous. How do you prove something that didn’t happen, didn’t happen? Don’t know where, don’t know when. Reminds me of an old song from my youth.

The reason Ford and Katz want to call it quits is pretty simple. Even with what we know now and especially if the accusation process is investigated either Ford is guilty of perjury and Katz of subornation of perjury or if ford is not guilty of perjury then Katz failed to communicate fully and honestly with her client, which is grounds for disbarment.

CincyJan in reply to Joelist. | October 8, 2018 at 10:13 pm

Damn, Joe, your assertions are not simple, what, especially with all the missing “ifs “ and “thens” to structure any hypotheses at all. Y’all can’t prove any of your claims against Ms. Ford beyond any more reasonable doubt than she could prove her claims against Judge Kavanaugh. You are just being ugly. Why?

Joelist in reply to thetaqjr. | October 11, 2018 at 12:45 am

Actually what I said even now can be shown. Just start with the fear of flying and the supposed lack of knowledge that the committee offered to come out to California to hear her despite it being splashed all over national media. Only two possibilities here – her lawyer withheld the information from her which is a disbarment offense or she lied under oath when she claimed not to know about it. And this is but one of multiple problematic statements made.

She told several provable lies. If she continues this farce and the FBI starts digging deeply int her there is a good chance she ends up in prison. Of course she wants this to stop. She made her money. I would not be surprised if the Democrats searched out every male on Trump’s list and came up with a “Ford” for each of them.

The deep state connection needs to be investigated. Hopefully, Sessions’ successor will be a “bull in a china closet” type who will kick butts and take names. A reign of terror against the deep state actors would be perfect for the next two years to keep the bad actors at bay. However, those responsible for this embarrassment must be brought to justice, including Andrew McCabe, his attorney, Dr. 2 door’s attorney, those who bribed Heidi Heidcamp and tried to bribe Susan Collins… Sorry Dr. 2 door, you dictated when the hearing was but you started this fire = you are not the one to put it out. Hopefully our next AG will bring in the arson squad and bring this nightmare to an end.

Ford just wants it to be over because she doesn’t want to be charged with perjury. Not because she’s so graceful.

I hope she lives a very long time and everytime she is seen in a restaurant or movie theater, etc., i hope she is shamelessly booed until she has to leave. Hey, you want to destroy a family, karma is a bitch!

You should donate your gofundme to a charity. I’m sure the DEMONcrats made sure you didn’t spend a dime of your own money.

This hideous broad is the perfect democrat.

Not a goddamned thing happened to her. The entire story was totally concocted. The only reason she’s going no further is it sets her up for serious perjury.

If any of you believe something happened to her, let alone by Kavanaugh, I have a bridge to sell you.

The democrats get away with this shit time and time again because there is no fortitude to prosecute them.

Much the same way Hillary remains free.

Wants to back out, even though Maryland has no statute of limitations on rape or attempted rape? Fishy.

Personally, I’m hoping Cocaine Mitch goes back into ninja street fighter mode: quiet waiting until after the election and the devoutly to be hoped Red Tsunami…and then show the LibFemDems what a Republican Pounce looks like.

Censure DiFi, if not eject her from the Senate
Perjury investigations into Ford
Get Ford’s lawyers disbarred for “Fear of Flying.”
Witness tampering charges against FBI Best Friend

And then get started on the other “witnesses.” They lied to a Senate Committee, and cost the US Taxpayers who knows how much money.

Burn ’em down, and salt the ground.

Prosecute what, it’s rather difficult to prosecute for a charge based on false claims. With Zero,Nada as to evidence,if one goes with rule of law rather than Feelings, whoa, whoa, whoa feelings.

I believe Ms. Ford has discovered that if she was to persist in this matter it could lead to the discovery of facts and evidence that would prove that she is a liar and she would be in danger of prosecution. I wonder however if she is going to be able to resist the lure of the speaking circuit and the book publishers.

“nor does she want further investigation into her claims.”? You bet she (Ford) doesn’t. It wouldn’t take much digging to reveal all the lying conspirators that engineered this farce.

HaHaLostAgain | October 18, 2018 at 1:01 pm

This ugly chicken neck liar is only stopping because “it” is afraid that this will now backfire on her. These lame republican Senators should THROW the book at her and her lawyer and put them in JAIL where they belong..
