Trump finally sat down with Putin Monday, roiling every corner of the political world.

This afternoon, Trump clarified remarks he made following the meeting with Russian President Putin.

Watch here:

The Hightlights

Trump said he meant to use the word “would not” instead of “would”, a remark that left watchers believing Trump had sided with Russia and Putin over American intelligence:

It doesn’t matter what he says. It doesn’t matter what he does. The Institutional Left, including the media, is going to declare it the Worst.Thing.Ever. More Hitler-y than Hitler. The disconnect between the elites and normal people is incredible.

Said by an MSNBC commentator, on the President’s performance in Helsinki:

“I would say that his performance today will live in infamy as much as the Pearl Harbor attack or Kristallnacht. And it’s really a serious issue we need to deal with.”

They’re freaking insane.

He’s 72 and keeping a schedule that would kill a 60 yr old. He needs to go away for 4 days and STFU instead of constantly reacting. They are running him to ground.

Putin is a nasty little dictator. He styles himself as half Stalin and half Peter the Great. He and his cronies meddle in the affairs of border nations and former ussr vassel states. He turned Transnistria into a narco-weapons trafficking hubs. Kaliningrad so unnerves the Poles that they built a series of high tech watchtowers along their common border.

Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Estonia and Ukraine entered into non-NATO military pacts and have raised, trained , equipped and fielded fast reaction forces of brigade sizes. more. much more.

Trump need handle this with care because Europe is a frak’n mess. Glib wont get the job done here.

I would dump reorganize US-NATO force HQ to Poland.

Trump should have brought Putin a ‘RESET’ button – that would’a made them happy.

In exchange for getting out of Syria and extraditing the indicted Russian hackers, maybe Trump could extradite Hillary to Moscow?

Whom should he make happy? Why should he worry about happiness when he has a country (and world) to operate? He dances around them with the skills only we, his base, recognize. Personally, I love his moves.

I’ve only watched part 1/3.

What did Russia do to meddle in our election. If it had no effect on election is it like the tree that fell in the woods with no one to hear it, did it make a sound?

Exactly! With each of Mueller’s indictments Rosenstein makes it a point to announce that the accused did not alter a single vote or change the outcome of the election, so what exactly did they do to “meddle”? Did they stand in a doorway with a baseball bat or register the dead to vote?

Personally, I am quite happy with trump and very thankful that Hillary the Shrew is not in a position to inflict more Obama like damage to America.

Honestly, I don’t care anymore what he said. This is not the apocalypse we were promised and I just rezzed from Kavanaugh The Destroyer.

I would have been tempted to ask Putin just what the hell my intelligence agencies are up to, since CIA and FBI appear to be running a soft coup against me. He probably knows has agents embedded and has experience with rogue intelligence agencies.

All the Democrats and NeverTrumpers can go jump in a lake. Getting tired of their constant caterwauling. This must be what mother’s of newborns endure. Ladies, I had no idea. I’m getting fixed first thing next week.

I don’t understand walking this back…his comments were fine as is.

Agreed. I think it was a mistake. Blood in the water and now they’ll go into a feeding frenzy. But what do I know? Maybe it serves his purpose to keep our domestic enemies (yes I said it) spun up to 11.

One word makes a difference. Many Presidents have done just this and if they are Republicans it got publicity.

There are big issues with the higher placed people within our intelligence agencies, and frankly, it is dangerous how weaponized they have become.

I think past heads of organizations such as the FBI and CIA should have a law made which makes them unable to speak on news media networks regarding opinions of what is going on in the world. They are not still plugged in, nor do they represent the US, yet because of past titles, they can give some comment and have it viewed as fact based on “secret knowledge”. The comments Clapper and Brennan make carry far more weight than they should because of their past roles in government.

I don’t have an issue with him making the comments after this meeting. It isn’t for the TDS media or Democrats, it is for world consumption.

I am so tired of the media going nuts over what other countries do in regard to elections, acting as if it is the reason for Hillary’s loss. Every country, including ours, meddles in elections, and work to push (to varying degrees) for certain outcomes. Isn’t that part of statecraft, looking to see countries have better aligned leaders.

” They are not still plugged in, nor do they represent the US, yet because of past titles, …”

The problem remains from when they were “plugged in”, that their political affiliations were centre stage and still are.
Looking back at US foreign policy, that had to be advised by the intel crowd, one sees the bad judgement made which affected the US negatively.

    Milhouse in reply to oldgoat36. | July 18, 2018 at 1:49 pm

Brennan’s problem isn’t not being plugged in. It’s that he’s hostile to the interests of the USA and friendly to those of their enemies, and always has been. Thank God he’s no longer plugged in.

Never has the opposition and establishment political party been more unhinged than it is during the Trump era! Someone should give George Will and co. A tranquilizer. Schumer wants to subpoena the interpreter for Trump at Helsinki? What an idiot Schumer is! No nation with a bit of sense would trust a US president after that. All their crying and gnashing of teeth makes me support Trump!

It amazes me how the press ignored Obama’s many blunders during the wretched 8 years of his presidency. Bowing to Arab leaders, throwing Israel under the bus, apologizing for our nation’s successes. Lauding other nations as “exceptional,” bringing in and relocating thousands of illegal aliens across the U.S., sending billions to the ayatollahs of Iran, ignoring Putin’s Crimea annexation, creating an imaginary red line in Syria and then looking the other way when that red line was crossed, moving race relations in our country into a downward spiral, hating half the people in our country who “cling to their guns and religion”….and those are just starters!!

Trump is blunt, and often crude. He doesn’t have Obama’s orator skills. He makes mistakes. But he loves his country and he wants to mingle with and make lives better for ALL the people, not just the ones who own “cottages’ in Martha’s Vineyard or the Hamptons.

Hitting reply I accidentally hit thumb down.
By the way, don’t forget to include how the Obama regime tried to influence the Israeli elections.
Bill Clinton also did it to Israel’s disadvantage.
