And Now, the Sad Ben Rhodes Election Night Video

“I can’t…. I mean I…. I can’t…”

A new HBO documentary called “The Final Year” examines the last days of the Obama administration. One clip in particular has gone viral. It features Ben Rhodes, the Obama staffer who played a key role in the Iran Deal.

Rhodes is seen in the clip trying to process the fact that Trump had won the 2016 election and has trouble forming words. Beckett Adams of the Washington Examiner notes, it’s as bad as you’ve heard:

They said it was sad. They weren’t kidding.

HBO released a documentary this year, titled “The Final Year,” tracking the last days of the Obama administration. The documentary specifically follow former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, former deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, and former Secretary of State John Kerry.

I had heard from colleagues that the film is a trip, but I hadn’t actually seen it for myself until this week. So, bear with me a moment. Some of this is new for me.

We know the 2016 election caught many in politics and media by surprise.

We also know that few people took Donald Trump’s surprise victory over Hillary Clinton harder than top members of the Obama administration, many of whom were hoping to have their legacies cemented by the former secretary of state…

What I didn’t know until a recent viewing of “The Final Year” is that Trump’s victory momentarily broke Rhodes’ brain. HBO was there in November 2016 the moment he figured out Trump beat Hillary.

It’s every bit as sad as advertised…

Here’s the clip:

As if that wasn’t bad enough on its own, some creative folks out there have set it to music.

Here are a few examples, via Twitchy:

How long until The Final Years gets mixed into a Downfall parody?

Oh, the humanity!

Comedy gold. GOLD, Jerry!

Isn’t Rhodes the jackass who lied to the American people about the Iran deal and later boasted about how easily we were fooled?

well…at least he has a video to refer to now…..

Given Spygate, the release of “The Final Year” seems to be a little premature. The documentation of the last year of the Obama Administration will never be complete until that is resolved.

Thanks for the excellent Schadenfreude Ben!

“The Final Year”

Since it’s HBO, the sub-title is ‘Not a smidgen of scandal.” Screenplay by Ben Rhodes.

No thanks.

I’ve been kicked off Twitter (again) so may I sing here? Oh, beau–ti–ful for spa-cious skies, for amber waves of grain! Thank God for President Trump!

No wonder Twitter gave you the boot…. patriotism and God in the same post? Gone meat.

I remember sitting on the floor of my living room speechless the night Ted Cruz dropped out of the primaries. I was heartbroken. An even more vivid memory was Donald Trump walking down the stairs and onto the stage to claim victory in November. My heart was so full of happiness. The Obama/Clinton/Kerry legacy would be washed away, although the scars still remain.

The words, “The Final Year” are verbal viagra.

To think, this is how this clown handles adversity and he’s one of obama’s right hands. If you want a look at incompetency under fire and how in the world a bunch of rag-tag insurgents pulled off Benghazi, look no further than this example of the people in place.

“To think, this is how this clown handles adversity and he’s one of obama’s right hands….”

Now you can see what the ‘right hands’ of a corrupt imbecile look like.

An inability to handle adversity is a keymark of many SJWs who haven’t yet realized that the few jobs which will ever be offered to them are those which come at times of adversity. Look back to all the college kids who wanted their finals either cancelled or to be given a passing grade because they were too traumatized by either Election 2016 or Ferguson. And Oberlin of all places is where a math prof responded to that request with “no,” which caused the further traumatized snowflake to post on facebook with a trigger warning of “violent language.”

My son and I were doing Taco Tuesday at a local Whole Foods clone and they had the TV on in the “alcoholic housewives” bar as we passed through. Trump had just taken FL, and I looked at my son and said, this is interesting?” Then Ohio came in at 50-42 and I said “it’s over for Hillarity.” The forecast of winning Ohio was a stretch, but a beatdown said a lot more than most have yet to realize. The Dems have lost the unions for good, well not the teachers or .gov unions, but the unions where the membership actually does something are simply gone for good.

Trump’s tariffs may raise prices, but if it results in increased domestic investment and jobs, the dems are even further screwed. It is about time that people realize that cheap labor comes at a much higher cost overall, much like my old boss saying that free healthcare is going to be way way more expensive.

He sounded like obama without a teleprompter.

Ben ‘Lonesome’ Rhodes.

Reminds me of a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

I think he realizes he is in a world of deep doo-doo, and that he is heading for t-r-o-u-b-l-e.

Give little Bennie a teabag to gargle. That always makes him feel better.

This is actually interesting.

These idjits really thought they had it in the bag. How could anybody—at least, anybody not paid to say so—genuinely believe such an obvious fantasy? The fake crowds, the slanted polls, the blatant propaganda posing as news; can an adult intellect really be fooled by such kid stuff?

Of course we expect it of much of the electorate—their version of “deplorables”—dumb college kids who think that only that “glass ceiling” prevents major corporations from recruiting them as instant CEOs, the “free stuff is a human right” people, the race-baiters and the perverts. But, incredibly, the bigwigs were just as oblivious. That’s actually surprising. I knew they were deceptive, vicious, larcenous, and vile, but there’s little solid evidence that at the top level they’re actually unimaginative, pig-headed, and shockingly stupid.

Now I think maybe they are. Rhodes apparently hadn’t the slightest clue. And may he wasn’t alone.

“What I didn’t know until a recent viewing of “The Final Year” is that Trump’s victory momentarily broke Rhodes’ brain.”

I’d contend his brain was probably broke long before that night. I’ll concede that his capacity for speech was broken that night.

They cancelled the fireworks with three days to go.

Oh – you need to add this: Kyle Kachuv’s EPIC Tweet-reply to MSNBCCPR’s announcement that Ben Rhodes was hired to be a “political contributor” (as if he wasn’t already?!) – hilarious addition to that video, because Kyle takes them ALL down using a transcription of that very clip: https://twitchy.com/samj-3930/2018/06/03/a-lot-to-process-ha-replies-to-msnbc-hiring-ben-obama-bro-rhodes-will-have-you-in-stitches/
