Yale Student Newspaper Encourages Volunteering for Planned Parenthood

“Reproductive Justice Action League”

Can you imagine a similar effort for the NRA? How do you think that would go over?

The Daily Caller reports:

Guess Which Elite University Is Encouraging Planned Parenthood Volunteers?

Yale Daily News staff reporter Ruiyan Wang wrote a Friday article highlighting a Planned Parenthood volunteer program that encourages students to get involved with the abortion organization.

Wang’s article in Yale’s student newspaper titled, “Planned Parenthood Hosts Volunteer Night,” began with a description of a Planned Parenthood location near the university and highlighted the clinic’s “Volunteer Night” as an opportunity to “forge community and solidarity among supporters.”

Volunteer nights include activities such as making “safe-sex kits,” writing letters to legislators and making buttons. Planned Parenthood organizers also give political updates and inform the volunteers of its most recent and upcoming advocacy agenda.

Included in the write-up was testimony from a Yale student who sees the volunteer night as an empowering call to action. “A little bit of time goes a long way,” Yale’s Reproductive Justice Action League volunteer coordinator Sarah Stein said. She is also a student and staff reporter. “At Planned Parenthood, volunteers are what make the organization. Yale students have the power to make a difference in the fight for reproductive freedom,” she added.

Try it and see. Surely there’s someone at Yale willing to organize something similar for the NRA, and submit it to the newspaper just to see how it handles it.
