Tom Steyer Hires Army of Operatives With Eye Toward Impeachment

“adding thousands of new supporters to the impeachment movement each day”

The liberal billionaire Tom Steyer recently distanced himself from Democrats after their failure to secure a DACA deal during the government shutdown. Now he’s surrounding himself with a large team of operatives.

The NTK Network reports:

2020 Watch: Tom Steyer Has Hired 50 Political and Communications Operatives

Liberal billionaire and environmental activist Tom Steyer announced, on Thursday, that he has hired 50 full-time staffers as part of his Need to Impeach campaign, which is starting to look more like a launching pad for Steyer’s 2020 presidential ambitions.

Steyer launched “Need to Impeach,” in 2017, as part of his effort to impeach President Donald Trump, and has previously announced that he would spend $40 million on the campaign.

“Need to Impeach Founder Tom Steyer today announced that he has hired an experienced political team including political and communications strategists to lead the campaign that now has nearly 4.6 million supporters calling on Congress to impeach Donald Trump,” the Need to Impeach press release stated.

“The team, including 50 staff members, is adding thousands of new supporters to the impeachment movement each day, creating a digital army of activists who are mobilizing to take back the House of Representatives in the 2018 election and remove Trump from power.”

Jim Brunner of the Seattle Times tweeted out the press release from Need to Impeach:

It’ll be fascinating to see how Democrats react to this. As recently as November, Nancy Pelosi made it clear she was cutting all the impeachment talk.

Jamie Ducharme reported at Time:

Nancy Pelosi: Impeaching President Trump Would Be a Waste of Time and Energy

Two days after a group of Democrats made moves to impeach President Donald Trump, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said during a speech that impeaching Trump would be a waste of time and energy, because “he’s just not that important.”

Pelosi, who spoke at Hearst’s offices on Friday, said Democrats’ priority should not be removing Trump from office, according to tweets from Cosmopolitan features editor Emma Barker. “Republicans would love for us to make our campaigns about the impeachment of Trump,” she said. “That’s not what it’s about. It’s about the well-being of American families.”

The longtime congresswoman has publicly denounced impeachment efforts in the past. Earlier this month, she told Politico that impeachment proceedings are “not someplace that I think we should go.”

If this is all a precursor to Tom Steyer running for president, that’s even better. He’ll take votes away from the Democratic candidate, not Trump.

It would almost be worth it to see the commie libs take the House just to watch their wooden ships crash on the rocks of impeachment. Almost I said.

    But, it might get bloody.

If the liberals don’t get their way – their would be blood. It might surpass the BLM riots by an order of magnitude.

Yeah, but I think we can “bet” on it, that they’re not even paying “minimum wage!”

Just like the Obama White House was paying….what? 65 cents on the dollar to their women employees compared to Obama’s mens pay?

As I recall my reaction to the impeachment of Bill Clinton, it ended with one incredibly deflating experience when the Senate treated the entire Senate trial (Dick Durbin comes to mind).
The Democrats risk inflicting this “incredibly deflating experience” on the most energized members of their base.
It won’t help them in 2020.

“If this is all a precursor to Tom Steyer running for president, that’s even better. He’ll take votes away from the Democratic candidate, not Trump.”

Ralph Nader is too old to play the game anymore, the Left needs a new Ralph Nader. Besides, as a rich lib Steyer is going to be spending his money on something stupid, so he might as well throw it away here.

He’s the one, remember, who has been going all-in on “GLOBAL WARMING WILL DESTROY THE EARTH!!!!” for a few years now. Even though he made his fortune by trading energy investments.

Unless Steyer can get 10 Senate Republicans, winning ever seat up in the fall won’t get rid of Trump.

I bet there is another Christopher Steele type that can be hired to damage Steyer irreparably. How much in tax breaks does this 1%’er receive? How much is granted by the Feds? I bet he’s racist with that amount of wealth 😉 I also bet he’s a tangled web of deceit over his business practices, partners, and employees 🙂

You sound bitter. Are you tired of winning?

Your Chicago Jesus ruined the chances so soon to use the IRS as a tool to take an enemy out. Why are you a racist like Holder 🙂

No, I think he is tired of the likes of you YellowTroll. Evil scum who have nothing better to do than to stir the pot on shit that will only lead to dictatorship. You do realize YellowTroll that is the the path your traveling? Need more info look up Hugo Chavez … he is your spiritual brethren.

Hey folks, no matter how much yellowbelly irritates you, if you fight the urge to tell him the truth his mindless echo chamber will get boring. Maybe he’ll leave but even if not he’ll get bored and give up after a while. Give him a thumbs down, don’t respond.
Ol’ yellowbelly likes the attention, don’t give it to him.

“adding thousands of new supporters to the impeachment movement each day”

Hey, Tom ‘the liar’ Steyer. Unless those ‘activists’ are elected members of the House who will voted to impeach, you’re $$$ is wasted.

But that’s none of my business.

First Hillary attempted to “Steele” the election. Now Steyer wants to buy an impeachment conviction.
Here is a word of caution to the libs. If you think President Trump does “bad” things today, imagine what he would do if he thought he couldn’t avoid impeachment.
Put up a good candidate and convince the people to vote for him or her. President Trump will be in office at least 3 more years and maybe 7 more.

You make it sound like Trump is all about himself and would hurt the country rather than lose gracefully. That is exactly what we ‘libs’ know he is. Thank you for the confirmation.

Petrushka in reply to YellowSnake. | February 9, 2018 at 12:56 pm

Confirmation bias is a terrible thing to waste. Glad to see you are preserving it and investing it.

“all about himself and would hurt the country rather than lose gracefully.”

You know, YellowSnake…if you replaced the “himself” with “herself” it would a perfect description of….Hillary Clinton!

Believe me…I understand why you “libs” are upset…you guys thought you were gonna be in power forever!!! But…It didn’t work out that way…

      Sorry bout that!

And if by hurting the country you mean letting it’s citizens like me keep more of my money, yah he is hurting us badly. Maybe you should look up your what your saviour in chief did to help the country, yah know like fast and furious and DoJ suspension of Hezbollah money laundering probe. Thank gawd for Barak Obama and his supports like you YellowTroll.

    LOL That’s so funny.

RE: “Put up a good candidate and convince the people to vote for him or her.”

That’s like Leftists and Democrats (but I repeat myself) saying they’re going to open Ice Cream Stands in Hell…..

Trump was an anomaly. Elections aren’t won, they are purchased. The Constitution is null and void other than as a template for arguments.

Funny, I would never have pegged this Steyer fellow as one who, like me, would love to see Mike Pence be president. I wonder whether he even realizes that that’s what he’s working for. Surely, with all the talent at his command, someone must have told him. Ya think?

So these snowflake Dems can’t take Trump and would rather have, cool-headed calculating, smart, careful-mouth, right-wing evangelical Pence who likes Trump’s policies? IMO thinking is not their strong suit.

    Immolate in reply to Canto28. | February 9, 2018 at 2:01 pm

Do you think that they think they would be better able to control a President Pence? If so, then that would ‘splain a lot.

But, regardless, the mind boggles at what Trump would have to do to get the Senate to convict him. There just aren’t enough competitive senate seats in the world.

    Thinking is Racist!

    Especially “Critical Thinking!”

    MarkS in reply to Canto28. | February 9, 2018 at 3:30 pm

Using logic is not Liberals strong suit. They were talking about impeaching W. Bush forgetting that doing so would make Darth Vader, aka Dick Cheney, president

Nothing to worry about here. The Clintons are probably already plotting to remove Steyer from Hillay’s path. Perhaps a Chinese pedo dossier this time… or a most unfortunate double-tap-to-the-back-of-the-head suicide. Steyer may be wealthy, but the Clintons are untouchable.

Pretty sure making liberals cry isnt an impeachable crime.

Wait – are you saying the Dems will face a 3rd party spoiler in 2020??? 🙂

Below the surface are even more groups having been funded by the Obama Administrations transfer of monies from penalties to designated groups…. hundreds of millions of additional dollars that can be retasked to go against trump or any opposition candidates.

This is one sick, demented fascist, who clearly does not believe in free elections.

Styer is trying to pick up where fascist george soros is leaving off. Soros should be in prison for sedition. At the rate Styer is going, he’ll be ready to join soros in lockup.

The Dems decry Citizens United … yet they’re OK with this guy doing this. Both are the same … the rich seeking to impose their will on the rest of us. It ticks me off … that some guy that’s dissatisfied with whatever has the power and money to effect an outcome that effects everyone … he doesn’t speak for anyone but himself.

Some people have more money than brains.

I hope the feds are paying attention to Steyer’s business dealings. The only justification for him actively running an impeachment campaign against Trump is to cause fed investigators to have to pull back from tight scrutiny of Steyer’s business efforts. Otherwise, they’d get accused of harassing him in retribution for his impeachment campaign. Methinks Steyer could be running a scam here.
