Trump brands CA Sen. Feinstein as “Sneaky Dianne”

Earlier this week, my colleague Mary Chastain reported that ranking Judiciary Committee Member Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) released the closed testimony of Glenn Simpson, a founder of Fusion GPS, which produced the dossier in 2016 of then-candidate Donald Trump.  Initially, Feinstein said the release was at Simpson’s request.

As Mary noted, the Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was upset by the move, indicating that it undermined the credibility of the committee’s work.

Feinstein now blames her decision on cold medicine.

Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein suggested a “bad cold” may have impaired her mental faculties and caused her to release Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee without telling committee chairman Chuck Grassley….Feinstein, 84, expressed regret on Wednesday for keeping Sen. Grassley in the dark, and suggested it was because of a “bad cold.”“The one regret I have is that I should have spoke with Senator Grassley before,” she told NBC News. “And I don’t make an excuse but I’ve had a bad cold and maybe that slowed down my mental facilities [sic] a little bit.”

Additionally, she has earned herself one of Trump’s memorable nicknames.

Now, if I could just convince President Trump to go with “Kooky Kamala” for our junior senator.

The 85-year-old senior Senator Feinstein has had rough start to the latest campaign season, which pits her against younger and more progressive challengers.  The social justice wing is less than impressed with her corporate connections. Polishing her #TrumpHate credentials could be a prudent move in a state that has seemingly declared war on this President.

Additionally, the release of these details may allow involved parties (perhaps more aligned with Team Clinton) to get their respective stories straight before they are interviewed.

But until then, it appears that Sneaky Dianne has boarded the #TrumpHate Train and hopes to ride it to another term in the US Senate.
