Leaked Emails Suggest DNC Worked to Scuttle the Bernie Sanders Campaign

Just in time for the DNC

Just days before the kickoff of the Democratic National Convention, leaked emails seem to indicate the DNC’s disdain for Bernie Sanders was more than rhetorical.

According to The Hill, hacker Gucifer 2.0 passed a ton of emails to Wikileaks.

In one May 21 email, DNC press secretary Mark Paustenbach writes to communications director Luis Miranda about planting a narrative to the media that Sanders’s “campaign was a mess.”

“Specifically, [Wasserman Schultz] had to call Bernie directly in order to get the campaign to do things because they’d either ignored or forgotten to something critical,” he wrote.

“It’s not a DNC conspiracy, it’s because they never had their act together,” Paustenbach concluded.

Most concerning is an email that appears to suggest using Sanders’ religion against him. The email in question was sent in May from DNC CFO, Brad Marshall:

From:[email protected]
To: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
Date: 2016-05-05 03:31
Subject: No shit
It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.
The email was sent to DNC Communications Director Luis Miranda and Deputy Communications Director Mark Paustenbach. It’s unclear who the “someone” in this message could be — though a member of the press seems like a safe bet. A request for comment sent to Marshall was not immediately returned.

Marshal responded saying it couldn’t have possible been Sanders he was referring to.

[UPDATE at 1:03 p.m. ET: Marshall emails to say “I do not recall this. I can say it would not have been Sanders. It would probably be about a surrogate.” We have asked him who that surrogate could possibly be.]

And although Sanders is not mentioned by name, he was the only Jewish candidate from either party — an apparent weakness that Marshall believed the party could exploit in favor of Hillary Clinton.

It is also unclear why the Democratic National Committee, which isn’t supposed to favor one Democratic candidate over another until they receive a nomination, would have attempted to subvert the Sanders campaign on the grounds that “he is an atheist.”

The Sanders campaign long claimed blatant favoritism towards Hillary’s campaign; claims gaining credibility with this latest batch of leaked emails.

Just in time for the DNC

Only if the MSM bothers to report/explore it. What are the odds?

Pity the poor MSM. They won’t know which story to lead with at the Dem convention – this story, or the Hillary email scandal.

Read somewhere this morning that some of DWS emails were VERY critical of Mika Bryzenski (spelled it wrong, but she’s the sidekick w/Joe Scarborough). Mika (herself very Left-Wing) loved Bernie, Debbie was offended, etc. Monday morn, 7-25, on “Morning Joe” might get interesting.

Or Trump starts including them in his speeches.

There are a couple emails that sound like the DNC is telling CNN and NBC what to do, as well. Search for Chuck Todd.

The Bern is a socialist. If he did not get enough votes they should take votes away from someone who did get enough and give them to Bern. It is the way of socialism.

They did. They got them from Hillary’s campaign, which could afford to spare them.

That is, until the Bernie campaign imploded (from forces within or without; it makes little difference at this point) for the same, basic reason that all socialist regimes eventually fail: That which cannot continue, will not continue.

Awwww, no…naw…no…!!!

THAT’S unpossible…!!! The DNC would NEVER play dirty…

You must have something wrong.

“It’s not a DNC conspiracy, it’s because they never had their act together,” Paustenbach concluded.”

It’s not a conspiracy, because we’re incompetent,”

There we go. Fixed it.

Surprise, surprise, surprise.

If its not ISIS its a serious copycat problem.

Bernie Sanders should of been the nominee, maybe because of this, the DNC should disqualify Clinton and place Bernie as the official candidate, it is only right!

Another teachable moment from The Anything BUT Democratic Party.

It’s nauseating, but, is anyone actually surprised that Dumb-o-crat operatives high up in the party apparatus would actually discuss — unabashedly — using Sanders’ Jewish faith to undermine and to discredit him with a certain bloc of voters? If this had been a Republican National Committee e-mail regarding a GOP candidate, the media would be all over it.

This attitude was demonstrated when that NPR hack (I forget her name) asked Sanders in an on-air interview how he would respond to questions about his loyalty, while falsely accusing him of having dual U.S.-Israeli citizenship. The twit having simply regurgitated anti-Semitic propaganda from the Internet without having done basic fact-checking.

Bernie was always token opposition for Hillary, who the democrats were simply anointing as President. It was theater.

Think of Bernie as the bumbling team that is sent out onto the court to make the Harlem Globetrotters look good.

Auto-starting videos that keep playing no matter how many times I pause them.

I’m outta here.

The MSM can ignore it, but Bernie’s supporters will use and are using social media to spread the news. They are already unhappy with what they saw as unfair treatment by the DNC and this just fuels the fire. Trump is already making a play for their votes.

“Trump is already making a play for their votes.”

He will when he is done campaigning against Senator Cruz anyway.

    Trump won, Cruz lost.
Trump is the candidate, Cruz is the afterthought.
The race is between Trump and Hillary. Cruz is not on the ballot.
