Democrats’ Proposed Platform Plank Smacks Climate Change Skeptics
Meanwhile, Europe begins slow recovery from climate alarmism
I have been following the antics of “AG’s United for Clean Power,” a group of Democratic states attorneys general spearheaded by former Vice President Al Gore, who are threatening Big Oil and climate change skeptics with racketeering statutes. Despite scholarly reminders of this tactics’ obvious constitutional abuses and outcries from proponents of First Amendment rights and sound science, the Democratic Party Platform Drafting Committee is keen to adopt the approach.
The committee unanimously adopted a “joint proposal calling on the Department of Justice to investigate alleged corporate fraud on the part of fossil fuel companies who have reportedly misled shareholders and the public on the scientific reality of climate change.”
I.e., it wants to criminalize courageous people who still believe it’s okay to think independently, at least about allegedly dangerous manmade global warming.
Interestingly, the #Brexit vote has signaled that the seas of “climate change” obsession are receding…at least in Europe. For example, Germany is already rolling back its Climate Protection Plan.
Germany has abandoned plans to set out a timetable to exit coal-fired power production and scrapped C02 emissions reduction goals for individual sectors, according to the latest draft of an environment ministry document seen by Reuters on Wednesday.
An earlier version of the draft document that was leaked in May had suggested that Germany should phase out coal-fired power production “well before 2050” as part of a package of measures to help Berlin achieve its climate goals.
The new version, which was revised following consultation with the economy and energy ministry, has also deleted specific concrete C02 emissions savings targets for the energy, industry, transport and agriculture sectors.
In fact, Economics Editor Daniel Wetzel at Germany’s news publication Die Welt notes that the Brexit may end the Paris climate treaty. Recall, President Obama touted last year’s Paris climate treaty as a success. He also called it a rebuke to terrorism.
Meanwhile, reporters complain that terrorism distracts from Obama’s focus on Climate Change.
The wife of the Orlando terror shooter was not available for comment.
The Democratic Party’s proposed plank shows that it is completely tone deaf, not in tune with our global partners, and thoroughly divorced from reality.
I suspect this policy will be a hit at the convention though.

Anyone even slightly familiar with the march of science leading up to the early 20th century should understand perfectly well that this is nothing new, it is merely a reversion to normality.
We’ll see who’s laughing when the glaciers return. The polar bears certainly will be.

If you can’t accurately predict the weather in a local area within a 24 hour period, then how can you predict the climate of the planet in the next century? For the Eco-terrorist, it is all about feeding their ego and praying on the uneducated and just plain stupid.

I don’t think that is a valid argument: It is entirely plausible that one could have climate models that work well over the long term but are not very useful in the short term. Consider all the areas of physics and chemistry where the aggregate behavior of atoms and molecules can be accurately modeled and yet the behavior of individual ones cannot.
That said, I emphatically agree that the current climate models are grossly inadequate to the ideological demands that they have been bent to serve. This is not about science so much as a radical red-green agenda to impoverish and control the proles while preserving endless luxuries for the ruling elites.
1st of all, we have gotten quite good at predicting what the weather will be in 24 hours; even 96 hours.
2nd, weather is not climate. Duh@! I can certain tell you that were I live it will be a lot colder in 6 months. I will give you long odds on that because I know the CLIMATE where I live.
3rd, the term is Climate Deniers since skeptic implies that a belief is based on more that ideology.

Somehow the prog alarmists would successfully blame the skeptics for the quick freezing of NYC. We could get “lucky” and rapid cool and flip-flop the magnetic field at the same time. The real problem for alarmists is no meaningful laws passed before pause/cooling…. at least they claim victory on the ozone hole for that reason.
Photosynthesis – Plants/Plankton turning Sunlight/CO2 into Food/Oxygen, the Foundation of Life on Earth. Neither animal nor blade of grass would exist, absent CO2. Increasing CO2 extends growing seasons & lets plants move higher in altitude & Latitudes; just as it helps to shrink deserts, plants using H2O more efficiently. Rising temperatures also extend growing seasons, help babies of nearly every species, increase net rainfall & save lives; because cold kills. The Earth is greener, more fertile & life sustaining than it was 40 years ago.
The very name of the tools used to create and perpetuate this scam should be all that we need to dismiss it: climate MODELS. None of which have so far come anywhere close to reality in their predictions. No software sufficient to produce reliable results exists, let alone a computer powerful enough to run such software. The intellectual hubris of climatologists (I hate that word – implies a science where none exists) is simply stunning. They have no clue what they don’t know.
All those jackasses probably had government grants to study “the problem” too.
Yes, and those who want to disprove the global warming theory are not funded. Our tax money at work.
It is not and never has been about climate ‘problems’. It is about global control or at least increasing imposition of a central government into people’s lives. Greed for wealth or money isn’t the source of evil, it’s greed for political power and control over others that is the root of all evil.
