Report: Obama Administration Plans Transgendered Public School Bathroom Directive

Report: Obama Administration Plans Transgendered Public School Bathroom Directive

Public schools will get a love letter from the administration Friday morning

Because the issue isn’t contentious enough, Obama Administration Officials will issue a directive to public school districts nationwide, instructing them to allow students to use the restroom of their choosing.

Officials from the Justice and Education Departments have signed the letter which preaches against discrimination.

The New York Times reported late Thursday evening:

It does not have the force of law, but it contains an implicit threat: Schools that do not abide by the Obama administration’s interpretation of the law could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid.

The move is certain to draw fresh criticism, particularly from Republicans, that the federal government is wading into local matters and imposing its own values on communities across the country that may not agree. It represents the latest example of the Obama administration using a combination of policies, lawsuits and public statements to change the civil rights landscape for gays, lesbians, bisexual and transgender people.

After supporting the rights of gay people to marry, allowing them to serve openly in the military and prohibiting federal contractors from discriminating against them, the administration is wading into the battle over bathrooms and siding with transgender people.

“No student should ever have to go through the experience of feeling unwelcome at school or on a college campus,” John B. King Jr., the secretary of the Department of Education, said in a statement. “We must ensure that our young people know that whoever they are or wherever they come from, they have the opportunity to get a great education in an environment free from discrimination, harassment and violence.”

Courts have not settled the question of whether the nation’s sex discrimination laws apply in matters of gender identity. But administration officials, emboldened by a federal appeals court ruling in Virginia last month, think they have the upper hand. This week, the Justice Department and North Carolina sued each other over a state law that restricts access to bathrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms. The letter to school districts had been in the works for months, Justice Department officials said.

“A school may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so,” according to the letter, a copy of which was provided to The New York Times.

Do they really think this demand will improve the situation for the transgendered kids? If they are being harassed this is not going to stop it – the others will just be more covert.
How is little Fred – now known as Nancy – going to feel if all the girls wait outside the bathroom when he/she is in there? Refuse to shower if he/she does?

Just trying to get Mooch into the ladies room?

“No student should ever have to go through the experience of feeling unwelcome at school or on a college campus,”

Unless they don’t feel comfortable with having someone of the opposite biological sex in the bathroom with them.

    Excellent point!

On college campuses particularly students devise welcome-unwelcome experiences known as hazing. What students don’t need is a meddling POTUS.

And it severely affects someone with “Shy Bladder Syndrome.”

People with that syndrome are going to feel even more in a panic than before.

Or, how about someone with “Encopresis.” Their problem will be found out easily too and that can be far more embarrassing to a student.

Bathroom policy affects the needs of everyone, not just the select few.

So what happens to the “genderqueer” students — those who “identify” as neither male nor female? They can’t be made to feel uncomfortable, so I suppose schools will have to construct bathrooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities specifically for them.

Things will get interesting when an anatomically intact female “identifies” as male and uses the boys’ locker room. Also interesting will be when the high school version of Bruce Jenner shows up demanding to use the girls’ shower room. Jenner “identifies” as female, but states that he is still attracted to females.

Has anyone discovered a perversion so disgusting, so destructive, so noxious that Democrats won’t make it an official cause celebre, backing it to the hilt and attacking the normal healthy Americans who oppose the depravity?

This is deliberate precedent.

“The move is certain to draw fresh criticism,” I nominate this for understatement of the year.

I would hope that school officials would have the well being of all their students uppermost in their minds. Those that do should ignore this lame duck directive.

obama is a bathroom joke.

If I were a father and my child got raped because of this, I would have to punish Obama directly.

I would think a campaign promise which would bring in a lot of votes would be, “As my first action in office, I would cancel every executive action done within the last nine months of the previous administration. If they had not thought it important enough to do in their first seven and a half years, it was not important enough to do.”

You are funny. Ted Cruz promised to undo every single executive order. Donald Trump is on the same page as Obama in re men in women’s bathrooms.

      Oh, hogwash.

The press attacked Trump with an ambush question, and he deflected it by making it pretty damn clear that he doesn’t consider it a matter for an executive to fret over.

      Obama obviously disagrees.

It’s just nice to know in this modern era of Korean nuclear weapons, Iranian nuclear ambitions, global terrorism, and the possibility of an artificial pandemic by a biological weapon, the administration is focusing on the real critical problems of our time: enabling men to use the ladies room.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to herm2416. | May 13, 2016 at 10:50 am

If some governor or state legislative body would find some means to have taxpayers (people, businesses, et al) pay all of their taxes through a state authority! The state authority would put Washington’s “fair share” into an account that even the b@st@rds in DC could not freeze or confiscate.

“When this foolishness stops, you get your money, Washington. Oh, and, minus our expenses for handling, mind you.”

Yeah, because are broken school ed system will be fixed by having bathroom rules changed. Time for every state to kick the feds out. That money the feds are threatening to withhold doesn’t exist anyway. We have 19 tril in debt.

So it’s discrimination to force a biological male or female to use the bathroom/locker room/showers they were born to use. But it’s not discrimination to force the males and females that use their biologically assigned bathroom/locker room/showers to share them with people who decide that they feel like switching. There are people who have a hard enough time using public restrooms as it is and now your going to pile this on top of their phobias? Your going to have kids damaging their bodies by waiting until the get home to relieve themselves. How would any one feel when their daughters are getting changed in front of boys who decided to identify as females or vice versa? I’m not saying it’s going to lead to a rape epidemic but if you don’t think some horny teens aren’t going to use this as a way to ogle the other sex and probably record it on their smart phones then you are nuts. Honestly the only legitimate reason I could even think of this law being used for is at crowded public events where the ladies room line is a mile long and not moving and the men are just flying in and out of the mens room.

The same non-hard science people who are telling us that the apocalypse of climate change is upon us are also telling us that there is no degree of difference between men and women. The body, soul and mind do not matter to the intelligentsia. Only their power over you matters.

Gender fluidity and also abortion, as approved by them, actually means that you are just material to be molded or discarded by them.

So, how long until the band director will be forced to allow 1 girl to share a hotel room with 3 boys on the next band trip? Will summer camps be forced to allow 2 or 3 boys to share the girls cabin for several weeks? That won’t be the slippery slope, we’re already sliding down it – that will just be the next stop on it.

The question I can’t get answered is how this whole mess fits into the legal obligations of adults who work with young people under the Youth Protection Standards.
