Intersectional Feminism: Still Crazy After All These Years

Intersectional Feminism: Still Crazy After All These Years

The Factual Feminist takes on the resurgence of intersectionality theory

Intersectionality is all the rage these days, but what is it? The Factual Feminist, Christina Hoff Sommers explains.

“If you have wondered why there are so many millennials on campus telling people to check their privilege, demanding trigger warnings, calling people out for micro aggressions, and retreating to safe spaces, the Factual Feminist has the answer: Intersectional feminism,” writes AEI.

Are safe spaces part of one massive conspiracy theory? Is intersectionality a cult?

When victimization becomes prestigious, the end result is well, modern college campuses.

Not a fan of Summers.

Videos like this one just increase awareness of feminist theory, which makes the feminist theory work stronger in practice.

The media shouldn’t appoint a feminist to criticize feminism, it should appoint a real critic like a church lady or even a man.

Anyways, the real reason so many millennials are getting away with telling people to check their priveledge, or calling people out for micro aggressions isn’t some 10 dollar word coined in the 1970s by some woman nobody heard of.

The reason is white knighting.

Men who are taught wrong ideas about sex will rush out of nowhere to defend the honor of a woman, who is basically complaining, even if the woman is being aggressive and in the wrong. This is a perversion of a good concept that, taken to extremes, results in infamous white knights like the Nazis or KKK, who both justified what they did as protecting women.

Teach men to be men, good husbands and fathers, and all of this millennial nonsense disappears. Either that or wait for the coming imposition of sharia.

    Yep. You’re an idiot.

      Dear Ragspierre:

What is wrong with you, that every instinct you express, is insulting?

Do you ever write politely, or is venomous your only mode?

Ragspierre in reply to Ragspierre. | March 31, 2016 at 10:45 am

      Dear Close the Fed:

What is wrong with you, where you feel it your place to reproach me?

“Brevity is the soul of wit”, as Shakespear observed. You are incapable of discerning that from “venom”.

Avert your delicate gaze when you see my moniker on a post if you can’t stand the use of direct, plain language.

      Or STFU. Your choice.

We have a cottage industry of self-identified victims in this country, whose purpose is to extract benefits from the government, rather than to actually help people. This is a fundamental problem because it teaches helplessness.

I got hit with this while I was in law school. I went to a doctor’s office, which at the time was the only place I ever read magazines. It had a copy of Ms., with an article having to do with child support. Because I was also taking Family Law at the time, I was all primed to read about the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act.

The Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act was a 1968 law, which was a template for state laws relating to divorce and child support. The law contained some very useful tools for women with children coping with former husbands trying to avoid child support, and had been adopted by many states by then (about 1982). I was expecting to see how this was working in practice.

Instead, the article was nothing but whining about what women could NOT do. There was nothing whatever about what they COULD do. There was no direction or help in the article. I had read Ms. regularly when I was in college, and I realized that the magazine was no longer celebrating what women could do, but pretending that women were helpless, and their newfound tools did not exist.

I never picked up a copy of Ms., again. I was a single mom going to school and working to support myself and my young child. I did not need or want this kind of negativity.

We would all be better off teaching our children about making use of the freedoms this country offers, instead of teaching them that the alleged bad attitude of fake big shots is anything important.

In this country, anybody can take a dislike to you, for whatever reason, or non reason, they wish. It happens. It happens to all of us. In response, we always have the option to “vote with our feet” — live somewhere else, buy things and services from somebody else, work someplace else, find a whole different career. In this country, nobody can stop a determined adult from having a good life and taking care of their family.

The problem I have with feminism is that its purported proponents have degenerated into scab-pickers instead of healthy, boundary-breaking heroes. Surely we can teach our sons and daughters better than this.

“The problem I have with feminism is that its purported proponents have degenerated into scab-pickers instead of healthy, boundary-breaking heroes. Surely we can teach our sons and daughters better than this.”

Yup. And it’s not just the feminist who practice this. Look at all the racebaiters, and consider the degradation of race relations. What a coincidence: the more influential the racebaiters become, the worse the race relations get. All to be expected when they encourage endless navel-gazing and scab-picking ~

And the craziness gets crazier.

Oh and the DA has just sent out a notice:
https://twitter.com/WPTV/status/715248650025353216/photo/1

I don’t know what the standard for arrest is but I would guess this means that CL was given a notice to appear and not arrested.

Wow. The Dim Jim Hoft cartoon of his former blog just gets stupider and stupider…!!!

As do the T-rump suckers here. Which is going some.

Do you think that Hoft had to work hard to come up with “self-righteous” to insult the likes of the ladies calling for the firing of the thug CL? I think he did. It probably strained his ‘brain’.

Milhouse in reply to RodFC. | March 31, 2016 at 11:31 am

Yes, you’re right, Jim Hoft is crazy.
And Summers is right, Trump should fire Lewandowski.

The DA’s notice does not mean Lewandowski wasn’t arrested. I don’t know how you came up with that. The DA is simply explaining that it had nothing to do with him or his office. The police decided to arrest and charge Lewandowski, as they do with criminals all the time. He will now have to examine the evidence and decide what position to take at arraignment. The ppint of this press release should be obvious: the Trumpsters have been braying for the past day that the DA’s political opinions somehow invalidate the arrest; so he is pointing out that he didn’t make this decision, the police did.

“The police decided to arrest and charge Lewandowski, as they do with criminals all the time….”

Lewandowski was ‘cited-out. Same procedure as a dog-off-the-leash violation.

The violation will come to nothing, even with a fascist/democrat operative being the DA.

Michelle Fields unintentionally allowed herself to become a democrat useful idiot.

The failure of previous theories and the resultant failures from their implementation (often at great cost monetarily and societally) has lead to the present “unmasking” of yet the newest hidden underlying reason for past failures…. “white privilege”. The counter movements to neutralize this include Black privilege…”BLM”, etc etc etc. (a large number of “etc”). Compensatory privilege is the game… emotionally, societally and financially. Also, the “new and improved” understanding of human nature has given the previously failed theories such as Marxism (and national socialism) a reboot. It has been one thing to have a small segment play with a theory and burn out (Shakers) ,but widespread forced implementation of theories as settled fact is a serious risk to societal cohesion. Thousands of years of imperfection may still be better than several decades of revisionist thoughts and actions.

I read an interesting piece by Jonathan Haidt at Heterodox Academy a couple of days ago in which he summarized a recent academic paper about victimhood culture. He was prompted to write the piece after students claimed to be traumatized by reading messages such as “Trump 2016” written in chalk on various sidewalks and structures around campus. The traumatized students took the matter to the university president. Some reports said the university president responded by offering the students traumatized by chalk “emergency counseling”.

Anyway, the paper summarized by Haidt explains how our morality has evolved over the past couple of hundred years from one based on honor, to one based on dignity, to the current victimhood mess.

Spoiler alert: morality evolved into one based on victimhood precisely because we have been so successful at promoting egalitarianism. It’s an insightful read.

Here is the “solution” of Intersectional Feminism.

My opinion having been suppressed for no good reason means that I have the right suppress your opinion for no good reason.

So, logically, the cycle continues.

Seems to me under their bizarre paradigm that positions don’t change, just who occupies them.

They need to lie down on an intersection couch and have their heads examed.

Amazingly, what our universities are doing to young minds still continues to shock.

That anyone takes the products of these zombie-mills seriously is even more shocking.

This woman nails it: universities have created a leftist cult. Students should sue to discharge their college loans, and leave the college with the bill.

These should be mandatory reading for every parent and potential college-bound student:

How to Leave and Recover from a Cult:
http://www.cultwatch.com/how-to-leave-recover.html

Pursue a Federal Student Loan Discharge as a Victim of College Fraud:
http://www.usnews.com/education/blogs/student-loan-ranger/2015/12/09/pursue-a-federal-student-loan-discharge-as-a-victim-of-college-fraud

Instead of studying feminism and trying to find out what the 10 dollar words mean, (hint: they all mean ‘more’) something else should be tried.

This is how you stop feminism.

I’m glad I didn’t understand the video double speak at all. I feel like I’m living in a coo coo factory!

Interesting, is this woman another “intersectional feminist”?
If so she believes child pornography should be legal and age of consent should be lowered.
Story on Alison Rapp, at the end of the article is a quote about intersectional social issues.

https://twitter.com/alisonrapp
@alisonrapp
Case-in-point: In my academia days, I argued for laxer porn laws, lowering the age of consent, and being nicer to bronies. Seriously.

What exactly does feminism have to do with anything?

Feminism was concocted out of the dank caves of Marxism to obliterate the family unit.

And if anyone here has a quarrel with that FACT, I will call you grossly misinformed or a partner in their crimes against our social order and the historic American nation.

And stupid, to boot.

Excellent and informative video — thanks KK
