With pressure to defund tax-payer supported Planned Parenthood mounting daily, the organization’s president is riding the interview circuit.
Filmed by a small organization called Citizens for Medical Progress (CMP), two separate undercover videos show a Planned Parenthood Doctor and a Planned Parenthood official casually chatting about the harvesting and sale of baby parts. CMP has said they have thousands of hours of footage, and is promising ten to twelve more videos yet to be released.
In an alarmingly fair interview with former Clinton aid and Clinton Foundation donor, George Stephanopoulos, Planned Parenthood President Cecil Richards discussed she believed were the worst parts of undercover videos.
“This has been a three year, well funded effort by the most militant wing of the anti-abortion movement in this country to try to entrap doctors and of course highly doctored videos which show absolutely, doctors repeatedly said, it had all been edited out. Planned Parenthood does not at all profit from fetal tissue donation which is an important, prudent element of healthcare research in this country,” Richards said.
Highly doctored videos? What about the raw footage released by CMP? In fact, here’s the link. Entrapment? Paleaze. This goes back to a point I made during a live video cast on Red State Media last week — what the CMP captured is not a hypothetical situation. CMP filmed Planned Parenthood officials discussing their daily routine which happened to include harvesting baby parts.
“I think what is not told is of course, these are highly, selectively, edited. The folks behind this in fact, are part of the most militant wing of the anti-abortion movement that has been behind the bombing of clinics, the murder of doctors in their homes and in their churches and that’s what needs to be looked at.”
The CMP was accused of being part of a militant, murderous organization on national television by the only tax-payer funded entity that specializes in murdering the unborn. Oh the sick, twisted irony…
Both Planned Parenthood officials caught on tape were reprimanded for “their tone” (whatever that means), but not for nonchalantly chatting up the price of baby livers over Chardonnay and cobb salad.
“Planned Parenthood has broken no laws. We have the highest standard, the care is and healthcare and safety of our patients is our most important priority.” Stephanopoulos asked Richards how many clinics participated in harvesting fetal tissue, to which Richards replied “very few” and went back to attacking the video investigators.
Supposing this is true, we now know that preserving intact baby parts is what Planned Parenthood considers maintaining “the highest standard.” We also know Planned Parenthood admits to harvesting fetal tissue (read: baby organs), and sees no problem in doing so.
That is the part that’s most concerning beyond the baby murder and dismemberment — intentional organ harvesting without moral qualm; it’s the heart of the matter that has those who defend the sanctity of life in a justifiable uproar.
Planned Parenthood is in trouble. They know it. Why else would they be trotting their president out on the primetime national news circuit to give terrible interviews like this one?
