Texas and California in crosshairs of ISIS and Al Qaeda?

Watching the press conference that President Obama gave yesterday in which he revealed that his foreign policy has devolved from “don’t do stupid stuff” to “no strategy,” I was perplexed that the media was complaining more about the color of the suit instead of its emptiness.

Mulling over the subsequent coverage, I couldn’t help but wonder what the upcoming September 11th would bring for our country, because our enemies are clearly inspired by weakness.

Now Judicial Watch has revealed that Islamic terrorist groups are operating Mexico and plan to attack the United States along our southern border.

Specifically, Judicial Watch sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.Intelligence officials have picked up radio talk and chatter indicating that the terrorist groups are going to “carry out an attack on the border,” according to one JW source. “It’s coming very soon,” according to this high-level source, who clearly identified the groups planning the plots as “ISIS and Al Qaeda.” An attack is so imminent that the commanding general at Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army post in El Paso, is being briefed, another source confirms. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to multiple inquiries from Judicial Watch, both telephonic and in writing, about this information.

Texas is not the only target. My hometown of San Diego is also in the crosshairs.

Fox News reports that the General Atomics defense contractor in San Diego is among the terror targets mentioned in a new English-language Al Qaeda magazine called Palestine–Betrayal of the Guilty Conscience Al-Malahem.The magazine, which is published by AQAP, the media wing of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, uses language that implies an attack will come very soon.Instructions for making car bombs are accompanied by a list of possible terror targets–including public places such as Times Square in New York City and casinos in Las Vegas, as well as military venues such as the Georgia Military College and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Other targets listed include oil tankers and trains.

One of the most chilling memories I have of September 11, 2001, was learning that several of the hijackers partied at the local strip club a couple of miles from my home before they went on their mission. More recently, a California mas was sentenced to 13 years in prison for attempting to assist Al Queda.

A California man who used Facebook and other Internet communications to connect with al Qaeda and planned to train its fighters in Pakistan was sentenced Monday to 13 years in federal prison followed by 10 years of supervised release.Sinh Vinh Ngo Nguyen, 25, of Garden Grove, pleaded guilty in December to one count of attempting to assist a known terrorist organization.”I simply do not understand how we can rehabilitate his commitment to die for his beliefs,” U.S. District Court Judge John F. Walter commented while discussing what potential threat Nguyen might pose after his release.

Additionally, two California Muslims are now on trial for attempting to help the terror group.

The trial of two Inland Empire men accused of being involved in a terrorist plot resumes in Riverside federal court this week, as jurors weigh whether the defendants’ alleged plans to travel overseas and join Al Qaeda posed a true threat or were overstated by investigators.Sohiel Omar Kabir, 36, of Pomona and Ralph Kenneth Deleon, 25, of Ontario face five counts of conspiracy, including plans to provide support to overseas terrorist groups, commit terrorist acts overseas and receive Al Qaeda training.

And a San Diego man recently died fighting with ISIS in Syria.

Finally, as San Diego recovers from the spate of wildfires in May, Walter Scott (a former National Security Agency official) discusses Al Qaeda’s plans to start wildfires in California with “ember bombs”.

I have never really worried about being hurt or killed by a terrorist after the 2001 incident — until yesterday. Now, I am weighing the idea of keeping my son home from school this 9-11. It is just another fundamental transformation brought about by President Obama.
