I return to find my predictions have come true

photo william jacobson

We’re back in Ithaca after a great vacation in the Dominican Republic. The featured image is the view from our room.

One of the readers guessed the location — almost. We stayed at the Barceló Bavaro Beach Resort, not the “Palace.” We stayed there before and like the quiet, small location on the best section of beach.

Due to the efficiency of United Airlines in not having a flight crew for our already delayed connecting flight out of Newark, we landed 4 hours late, almost 2 in the morning.

Thanks to the contributors for covering while I was away and to Mandy for running the show.

While I was away, I noticed some of my predictions coming true, particularly the fulfillment of my prediction from July 2012, that the Most important legacy of Obama’s gay marriage switch was freeing Dems to play the “bigot card”.

The John Kerry negotiations also collapsed, quite predictably. The Palestinians never budged an inch on any of the core issues, and still think they can get more from joining international organizations and imposing a result on Israel. Who coulda seen that coming? Palestinians refuse to miss the opportunity to miss another opportunity.

There probably were other predictions that came true while I was away. I’m just too tired right now to seek them out.

So what did I miss?

Welcome back. Glad you had a great time!

What did you miss?

Well, the Collective took a Great Leap Forward into “1984” with the defenestration of Brendan Eich at Mozilla.

The subsequent statement by the current Mozilla head duck was pure DoubleSpeak in chilling superiority to anything Orwell imagined. It was so smooth and soothing…

Joe Klein and Kwazy Krugman have declared that the fight over ObamaDoggle is SOOOOoooo over now, and its time for us proles to fall into ranks and quit our grumbling.

The IPCC report came out, and we’re all gonna die.

There was more, but that’ll get you started….

My Mom and her new hubby were involuntarily bumped from their United flight to Hawaii on their honeymoon and all they got was a $7.00 meal voucher. Not my favorite airline. Also, google “United breaks guitars.”

While you were away, some heretofore unseen original writings by Orwell were discovered in an attic in Old Blighty.

Among the precious handwritten notes and musings on the future is what many are already calling Orwell’s most unfortunate self-edit ever:

“If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on your face while you’re called a racist and a homophobe and a sexist—forever.”

Oh, and although CNN says “We don’t cover state senators,” rest assured, they sure do cover CEOs of tiny private companies who made tiny political donations years ago.

So what did I miss?

@Mozilla And The #GayGestapo, just for openers. 😀

Even Bill Maher called them the Gay Mafia.

He didn’t miss it. It’s linked in the “fulfillment” of the “bigot card” prediction.

(Just standing up for your reputation, WJ.)

Off topic but,

With the end of spring break, I’ll bet the professor trades his trademark cologne for now unnecessary suntan lotion—just so that sexy beach aroma calls further attention to his newly bronzed state.

Not since Kinky Friedman in “Where the Boys Are” will the halls of academia have witnessed such Jewish cowboy swagger.

Give ’em a little color and it goes to their head.

There was that discovery of voter fraud thing in NC and 21 other states…. but I checked the Dem sites and was reminded that voter fraud doesn’t exist – so, you didn’t miss that.

Oh, and some gun control nut from Cali turns out to be a gun running thug!… but that’s a local story, so you didn’t miss it either.

Professor, You missed Hillary Clinton’s pathetic convoluted vague non-answer to the question about what was proud of that she (and Obama) accomplished as Secretary of State.

Most of her time as Secretary of State was spent traveling to tell third world countries that US aid money was contingent upon the approval of the Obama agenda (gay rights, condoms, birth control and abortion in the guise of human rights and health care which amounts to fighting AIDS with one hand and promoting its chief causes and means of proliferation with the other.

Harry Reid continues to use McCarthyite tactics against the Koch Brothers® just about every time he opens his mouth on the Senate floor. Conventional wisdom is that it’s a tactic to fire up the Democrat base and Democrat donors. But I’m convinced he’s doing it because he wants one of the certifiably insane Democrats he represents to assassinate one of the Koch Brothers®. After all, Harry Reid knows that the certifiably insane Democrat Floyd Corkins was inspired to attempt to murder employees of The Family Research Council and stuff Chick fil A sandwiches in their faces because the Democrat hate group, The Southern Poverty Law Center, demonized the FRC for supporting traditional marriage. I think Reid is hoping that if he demonizes the Koch Brothers® enough, he’ll be as successful at inspiring assassination as The Southern Poverty Law Center was by designating the FRC an enemy of all that is good and righteous in the “progressive” world.

On an equally happy note, a Gawker writer wants people imprisoned if they don’t believe the hypothetical unscientific speculative threats from man-made global warming a hundred years from now are worth wrecking our economy and surrendering our liberty today.

And you already know the homosexual lynch mob forced a guy to resign because he made a donation in support of traditional marriage several years ago.

Obama took a victory lap because the government coerced 7 million people to sign up for Obamacare after the government declared 6 million insurance policies illegal. Even so, nobody really believes the 7 million number because everybody knows he’s a liar.

Welcome back. Totalitarianism is gonna be awesome.

Welcome back, Wm!

Only thing you missed was homosexuals rule! None of the other stuff was on CNN

One of the cosponsors of the UCLA BDS bill was arrested for false imprisonment, reportedly in association with accusations of sexual battery.
