Workers of the World Unite

Discovered in the email archives from November 2011, from frequent photographer Ulises:

Dear Prof.,

I was in Philadelphia yesterday and ran into the OccupyPhilly crowd around city hall. This sign caught my attention, because it seems to have been left there from a Tea Party rally…

Regards,

Ulises

Hard to imagine, but if JFK was a politician in today’s world he would be branded a far right extremist.

“Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”

Whoops. I apparently misread that sign. I was focusing on the “work for me” section and thought that it meant policies such as Obamacare.

In truth, I don’t want the government to work for me. As an employee, it would be horribly inefficient and costly, and I’d have to let it go. I’d prefer that the government just stayed out of my way.

You load 16 tons, and what do you get?
Another day older, and deeper in debt.
Saint Peter don’t you call me, ’cause I can’t go,
I owe my soul to the government store.

Dyslexics of the world: UNTIE!

Sorry, the headline forced my pun-addled brain to post this 🙂

That 3M PostIt easel chart it’s written on isn’t cheap.
