Because your tweet starts with a mention to @SGLawrence, depending on configurations it could be the case that only those who follow both you and SGLawrence (and anyone else specifically mentioned in the tweet) will see it in their timeline (unless new-new-NEW Twitter has changed that).
If I start a tweet with a mention (@) and I want it broadcast to *all* my followers, I usually precede the @ with a full stop. Ex:
