Chicago violence in two tweets

With gang violence continuing to spiral, and now taking place in the fancy and liberal Lincoln Park section of town, Anne notes:

Any news on how many guns Holder is having “walked” into town?

I caught one network with a banner that read …
Rate of deaths in Chicago now exceed US casualties in Afghanistan

Law abiding citizens should not be allowed to own or possess guns so that the criminals will not have to worry about being hurt.

This is really easy, actually. The wealthy will hire private security, who have greater access to carrying heat. Perhaps neighborhoods will then get to hire such security, instead of depending on volunteer watch people, ala George Zimmerman. Then the 1% will be protected, gun prohibitions will be protected, and gang members won’t have to worry about armed victims.

Before New York put in their gun control laws, the gangs were complaining to authorities that victims were shooting back.

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

While we’re watching eroding gun access, they’re stealing out incandescent light bulbs.

I think its pretty clear this is the American half of F&F. Too bad the Mexican half has already blown up in their faces. Look for this to be front page news if Obama is re-elected.

It’s only a matter of time until someone in Chicago shoots back, and when that person is charged with a crime for merely defending their self, perhaps we’ll see some “righteous rage” boiling over.

Only when the Public (See also, ‘We the People’) realizes that the corrupt, hack politicians and ruling-class elites are more afraid of a legally-armed populace than they are of the unarmed public being systematically hacked to pieces by thugs, will they stand up and demand their Second Amendment rights.

After all, the rulers and their lapdog politicians aren’t exactly on the hook to protect us as was declared in South v. Maryland. Yes, your government is obliged to enforce the law but not to assure your protection. Understanding the difference between those two concepts may literally mean the difference between life and death!

I had a post disappear, it seems. Perhaps Ms. Napolitano or one of her hardworking associates is reviewing it for grammar and content… 🙂

Anyway, my point was that if people really believe that the government is required to protect us from crime, they need to read South v. Maryland. In the context of a disarmed populace, the implications are frightening, if not tragic.

I lived in Chicago for 2 1/2 years, and during all that time, I heard “Lincoln Park” to mean the park along the Chicago shoreline, and all the little communities were referred to by name.

To me, Lincoln park wasn’t so much fancy as mellow. It runs almost the length of the city along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. The whole city would go to the park on nice days to walk along the shoreline and enjoy the view. For me, it was the greatest people-watching venue, ever. The air would be full of little breezes, and pleasant conversation in every kind of accent.

Families would come out to use the grills, and people would set up volleyball nets and play ball with those weird, huge softballs.

There’d be trash on the sand by the end of the day, but the park would be cleared at night, and clean by morning. Although I never saw a lot of police in the park, all the paths were paved and wide enough for cars.

Chicago is a city of neighborhoods piled next to one another, and the “good” ones are all within walking distance of the “bad” ones. Lincoln Park was a place where a truce held.

If there’s gang violence in that park, now, there’s a reason for it, and Rahm Emanuel will either solve the problem quickly, or be out of office in the next election, much like Michael Anthony Bilandic, who was said to have lost his campaign for re-election because he couldn’t clear the streets after a blizzard.

Hey folks , lighten up! , not to worry! lts all part of the plan. More corpses ,more sure thing dem voters. These gangs are all part of Community Organizing. Getting the members involved in the larger community. Now to get serious. These gangs short & simple are intimidation. lf the Machine wanted them gone ,they would be. The way Chicago has been going under the Chicago Way has been obvious to those who will see for a long time. Yet the Machine keeps getting elected. l suspect they would continue to be elected even without ballot fraud. The turnout mechanism would still be in place. This is what worrys me most about an Obama reelect. ln his 1st term he has placed all these moles throughout the govt & system. lf he loses they can probably still be removed. lf he gets the mandate of a 2nd term , Katy bar the door. These gangs are the potential seeds for a cadre of Brownshirts. He needs all this to solidify his program of fundamental change. He now has alot invested. lf anyone still thinks he will lightly walk away. . . Four years from now ,things will be very differant. Most who read this are well aware of what l say. l fear a majority of Americans still dont. l dont think the stupid media have any idea what they’ve signed up with. All these people think it can’t happen here.

Excellent point, Second… very well put.

Remember, too… Pol Pot did some community organizing, or was that ‘reorganizing’? I forget which! Anyway, he also used gangs and thugs to do assist in his stellar work!

Could this be what he meant when he said this back in 2008?

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” – Barack H. Obama, July 2, 2008

Trooper JohnSmith:
Thanks a hell of a lot. I remember that, and that ‘civilian national security force’ is creepy and scary. Any chance the New Black Panthers have anything to do with it?

Glenn Beck has said we need to get copies of things, that the leftist will scrub history. That there is one of the quotes we need to hang onto, to remind ourselves of what we are dealing with.
