University of Florida Releases Statement on Arrested Protesters: ‘Not a Daycare’

“they knew the rules, they broke the rules, and they’ll face the consequences”

This is the most common sense statement from a school in weeks.

WKMG News reports:

‘Not a daycare:’ 12 arrested during student protests at 2 Florida universities

Protestors at the University of Florida and University of South Florida were arrested on Monday, according to university officials.

UF officials said that nine people were arrested by the university’s police department and the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the university, charges included failure to obey a lawful command, resisting without violence to trespass after warning. One was allegedly charged with battery after spitting on an officer.

In a release, UF spokesman Steve Orlando announced the arrests, saying that the university had provided ample warnings last week regarding “prohibited activities.”

“This is not complicated: The University of Florida is not a daycare, and we do not treat protesters like children — they knew the rules, they broke the rules, and they’ll face the consequences. For many days, we have patiently told protesters — many of whom are outside agitators — that they were able to exercise their right to free speech and free assembly. And we also told them that clearly prohibited activities would result in a trespassing order from UPD (barring them from all university properties for three years) and an interim suspension from the university. For days UPD patiently and consistently reiterated the rules. Today, individuals who refused to comply were arrested after UPD gave multiple warnings and multiple opportunities to comply.”

I am not sure I understand some of the rules. like sleeping in the dorms.
if I am a student there and Im paying room and board there and I choose to take a nap in my dorm, and some some pencil neck geek wants to make an issue out of it. there is gonna be a problem.
sleeping in green spaces. If they wanted to make an issue out of that me and my money can go elsewhere.

There is no rule against sleeping in dorms, or even on the lawn. You may not sleep in a public place as a form of protest.

Perhaps you could show us where someone was arrested for sleeping in a dorm?

Or perhaps you’re just an outside agitator who has come to LI to cause problems.

Geez I’m like naw… the parents are paying for this. And go Florida for arresting those babies. It also comes with an order of not being able to go on campus for 3 years and being expelled. Students have no right to prevent or block the education of other students. Doing so is called segregation , and discrimination and education is a constitutional right. If that doesn’t make sense to you braaah then maybe you didn’t learn much in school; too busy protesting no doubt.

I went to the UF webpage. I looked up the rules for student conduct. I found the part about demonstrations. There was nothing in the rules about sleeping, in the dorms or on the lawn. Nothing. Wanna give a link to your source?

here are the rules from Univ. Fla.

they have been coddled alllll their lives and with no responsibility for their (violent) actions ( 2020 proves that!!) why should they stop?

they will only stop when that “we are not a daycare”

once again becomes the foundation that the usa relies on

dei affirm action etc has and is destroying america under the bs guise of “civil rights”

THOSE LAWS WERE ALREADY IN PLACE

BUT AS USUAL THE POLS of the Globalist Order have to create more “laws”

to justify their jobs/existence
