Pro-Lifers Will Protest Planned Parenthood in 45 States Saturday

Less than a month after this year’s March for Life and pro-lifers nationwide will protest abortion clinics in 218 cities.

“Defund Planned Parenthood” rallies aim to put pressure on lawmakers to strip the country’s largest abortion purveyor of federal funding.

From Life News:

The rallies are being organized by the #ProtestPP Coalition, of which the Pro-Life Action League is a primary co-sponsor, in concert with 40 Days for Life. In all, more than 60 pro-life organizations are lined up behind the rally effort.

After the general election last year opened up the real possibility of defunding Planned Parenthood, most pro-life leaders believed that campaign would have to wait until this fall, during negotiations for the 2018 budget. But then Speaker of the House Paul Ryan announced that Congress would make defunding Planned Parenthood a priority, including it as part of a wider effort to repeal Obamacare in this year’s budget reconciliation bill.

Because the reconciliation process requires a straight up-or-down vote in the Senate, there is no possibility of a filibuster. A budget without Planned Parenthood funding was sent to the president’s desk last year, and though it was vetoed by President Obama, it set the precedent for using this creative approach.

The message of the February 11 national rally isn’t just to demand an end to all federal defunding of Planned Parenthood, which comprises roughly 40% of their annual $1 billion budget. We’re also calling for those funds to be redirected to Federal Qualified Health Centers that provide a far wide spectrum of services to women without killing children through abortion.

In reality, the Charlotte Lozier Institute has found that there are 13 times more FQHCs than Planned Parenthood centers, serving about 8 times more women, despite all Planned Parenthood’s claims that poor women relying on them. Funds could easily be diverted to FQHCs to avoid any disruption of services to current Planned Parenthood clients.

If you’d like to participate in a protest this weekend, you can find the rally location closest to you here.

I’m pretty sure you won’t have to worry about riots or looting, just a bunch of people who believe in the sanctity of life.

I will be interested to see if there are any organized counter-protests.

Texas, Austin?

Great. How is that abortion ban constitutional amendment coming? Havn’t heard much about it lately. You anti-abortion true believers do BELIEVE in the Constitution don’t you? Cuz if you don’t, there are already lots of countries around the world that BAN abortion, throw homosexuals off rooftops, make women wear costumes in public, etc. You might have to adopt a different religious superstition, but what the heck? If it’s NO ABORTION at any cost, the end justifies the means, right? Otherwise you anti-abortion types are just the mirror image of the $15 an hour protestors or the watermelon types protesting pipelines. I’m sure the people you give money to want to make sure abortion stays in the headlines forever so they can COUNT ON YOU GIVING THEM MONEY! But please pat yourself on the back and signal your virtue to your religious superstition.

Glad you got that out of your system. Bit like a hairball, eh?

Regulation of the sale of baby body parts for fun & profit is already a matter of law. No Amendment required.

And any Federal policies which help finance the trade in baby body parts are subject to change at Federal whim. Again, no Amendment required.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any desire to prosecute transgressors. Only those who discover the evidence of transgressions of the law.

Ms. Cecile, tear down the privacy veil. Close the abortion chambers. Shutter the Mengele division. Stop denying life unworthy. There are other solutions.

Go Left. The resemblance is uncanny.

Never again!?

PP Sells Baby Parts

Selling baby parts is against the law. Multiple investigations have exonerated Planned Parenthood from the claim.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood provides health services for underserved families, including birth control, which helps prevent the need for abortion.

Definitely wouldn’t want to see bodily harm or injury inflicted on anybody, but would love to see some of their “health clinics” spontaneously break out in fires tonight. Really, any night of the week is fine by me.
