Who Would Replace Hillary on Dem Ticket? (Reader Poll)

Who Would Replace Hillary on Dem Ticket? (Reader Poll)

You know, should it come to that

We’ve been watching this story grow legs — the speculation that a Democratic Party cabal met behind closed doors to discuss replacing Hillary on the presidential ticket after her unfortunately public health episode Sunday.

I imagine this was nothing more than a whisper campaign that morphed into an actual story. And you know, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer gal.

But now that replacing Hillary is actually being discussed seriously, we’re only doing what’s proper — voting on who we think would (not should) replace Hillary, if it were to come to that.

You can only vote for one (don’t worry, they’re all awful in their own special ways). Poll closes at midnight Wednesday.

Politico reports:

A former Democratic National Committee chairman says President Barack Obama and the party’s congressional leaders should immediately identify a potential successor candidate for Hillary Clinton for the off-chance a health emergency forces her out of the race.

“Now is the time for all good political leaders to come to the aid of their party,” said Don Fowler, who helmed the DNC from 1995 to 1997, during Bill Clinton’s presidency, and has backed Hillary Clinton since her 2008 presidential bid. “I think the plan should be developed by 6 o’clock this afternoon.”

Fowler said he expects Clinton to fully recover from her bout with pneumonia, which forced her to leave a Sept. 11 memorial event early and cancel an early-week fundraising swing. But he said the Democratic Party would be mistaken to proceed without a contingency plan. The party’s existing rules empower the DNC to name a replacement candidate but include few guidelines or parameters.

“It’s something you would be a fool not to prepare for,” he said in an interview on Monday. He added a note of caution, should Clinton attempt an expeditious return to the campaign trail.

I call BS on the ‘pneumonia’ story.

No doubt. Like so many of the lies that spew forth from the Clinton camp it just doesn’t stand up to the test of basic common sense.

They’re saying a bunch of people in her staff had it… so it’s obviously highly contagious, right? So then why was she out mingling among the hoi polloi and kissing babies and what not?

Ragspierre in reply to Paul. | September 12, 2016 at 7:38 pm

No. That’s simply false. What PEOPLE did say was that there was a respiratory bug going around the New York office and travel staff.

      That’s hardly weird.

      Pneumonia is NEVER mentioned.

Jeepers! I wonder about our own “bubble” sometimes!

And for what it’s worth, I don’t read People. LOL. It was just the first hit when I googled it. Yes Rags, the progs are falling all over themselves trying to make excuses for her. And this one that the pneumonia bug was “going around the office” and therefore is no big deal is one of their latest attempts at throwing shit on the wall.

My point is merely that it doesn’t make sense, like so much of what they say. If that particular lie was true, then no rational person would be out mingling with the public because a non-sociopath would be concerned about getting other sick.

Ragspierre in reply to Paul. | September 12, 2016 at 7:55 pm

Paul, the idiot who wrote the headline didn’t read the piece by the idiot who provided the “report”.

Read the piece. “Pneumonia” is NOT mentioned, nor is even infectious pneumonia really contagious…and sometime not at all.

          CRIPES…!!!!

Paul in reply to Paul. | September 12, 2016 at 8:04 pm

Yes, the body of the article does mention pneumonia.

I think most people understand that pneumonia is a blanket term for a range of illnesses that can have different causes and levels of severity.

But here’s the kicker… they’ve said it was likely caused by a contagious bug, and if it’s severe enough to cause Hillary to come down with pneumonia, would you want her kissing your baby?

Ragspierre in reply to Paul. | September 12, 2016 at 8:17 pm

“…they’ve said it was likely caused by a contagious bug…”

I can’t find “they” saying anything of the kind. What “it”?

People were getting sick from a respiratory bug. NOBODY is suggested to have had “pneumonia”.

          Is it causation or coincidence?

Pneumonia is OFTEN the opportunistic result of a bad illness…of ANY flucking kind. A stomach virus, hell.

          Stop it! That’s just crap.

Paul in reply to Paul. | September 12, 2016 at 8:26 pm

The story is that numerous people in her office had the respiratory bug. It must be contagious if it was “going around.”

This story about the office bug was offered up at the time they revealed her pneumonia diagnosis. The implication being that they’re related. Perhaps Hillary’s case progressed that far because of her age, or whatever.

And my sole point is that if she had a respiratory illness severe enough to cause her to come down with pneumonia then she had no business being out and about and kissing on babies.

That’s it. Beyond that I think you’re just itching for a disagreement. Grab a cold one and go ride your tractor.

There’s some doctors on Youtube that think she has Parkinson’s Disease.

~I’ve~ thought that she has had some non-specific advanced disease for a while now. There’s a moderate list, but Parkinson’s Disease actually fits most of the public symptoms she’s been exhibiting for the last 36-48 months pretty well.

She has to make a concerted effort to stand / sit upright (if she’s not paying attention, she starts to slouch badly), when she thinks the cameras are not pointed at her she looks ridgid and moves stiffly. I would bet money that she’s developing Kyphosis (hunchback) from Osteoperosis, and that she’s wearing a brace across her shoulders (which would explain the heavier jackets she’s been wearing.

The mental degradation ALONE should have been cause for the alarm bells to go off after the FBI interview (the claim that she doesn’t know how to handle Classified materials? COME ON! She’s been personally handling Classified materials since the NIXON administration).

Further, the medicines that she’s reportedly on or has had her campaign research fit a Parkinson’s Diagnosis well. Levidopa is a VERY harsh chemical on the body, and has lots and lots of very nasty side effects (which include dizzinezz [and could make her fall-risk MUCH higher], lightheadedness, trouble sleeping, and headache). In fact, the WebMD entry itself specifically says:

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

By the way, I can tell you that last line is a half-truth at best regarding the “serious” side effects part. You get the dosage of Carbidopa-Levodopa wrong in even the slightest amount from what your body is used to and you’re going to spend several hours violently vomiting in the best-case scenario.

Pay VERY close attention during the Debates. My guess is that the MSM will try very hard to crop Clinton’s image to avoid showing any sort of tremor that she might have. Further, I’d lay about 1 in 20 odds right now that there is some sort of stress breakdown or full-on collapse DURING the debates of some sort.

that there is some sort of stress breakdown or full-on collapse DURING the debates of some sort.

Which is why the D’rats would be suicidal to let her debate. Trump will hit her from five sides at once—they don’t have to be good attacks, they just have to be fast & furious—and she’ll go into something indistinguishable from catatonia, even with her mystery ear communicator whispering instructions.

Her problem was apparent weeks ago, when her condition wasn’t so obviously dire as it is now … probably on Aug. 4 when she appeared to go blank during a PETA demonstration, and the press first became aware of that large black gentleman apparently serving as her handler.

    Of course it’s BS.

“She has allergies.” “She got overheated.” “She’s dehydrated.” “She has pneumonia.”

“It was a video.” “I never sent classified emails on my device (singular).” “I released all my emails.” Etc., ad nauseum.

Pick-a-lie. That is the essence of Hill-da-beast, and her sycophantic handlers.

Lord, protect this nation from such hideous people that would literally carry this unfit, unhealthy Clinton into the White House.

Absolutely. What are the dumbacrats going to do next time she has an attack of some sort?

Fact is, she’s been fainting for YEARS.

She may indeed have pneumonia now – it would explain the persistent cough, but she’s got more serious health issues than that.

Morning Sunshine | September 12, 2016 at 7:21 pm

Chelsey. Then the Clinton foundation won’t have a spat of broken kneecaps, empty bank accounts and downed planes from their donors.

JackRussellTerrierist | September 12, 2016 at 7:22 pm

I think they’d hustle in Uncle Joe or shoehorn Manchelle in.

Kaine doesn’t have the juice to get it.

I have to wonder if this is the first election where there have been pushes for both candidates to drop out. Or even one.

The problem for the Democrats is that they have backed themselves in to a corner.

The have repeatedly said there is nothing wrong with HRC so if she was to pull out now because if her health then Trump should run his campaign on how can Democrats be trusted if they couldn’t even tell the truth about something as straight forward as the health of their Presidential candidate.

Basically the dems are rooted and all because if their pathological inability to tell the truth.

“Basically the dems are rooted and all because if their pathological inability to tell the truth.

    Mailman”

    That’s a feature, not a bug.
Remember how the Communist in Russia and the Nazis in Germany hated each other, until Molotov and Ribbentrop got together? Then they were all cozy and warm with each other. Then the German Army invaded, and spin-on-a-dime, they hated each other. Not being anchored in truth, they can head in any direction at anytime. Notice how global-warming became global-climate-change? Same thing. They have no morals, so they have no shame. They can stuff whatever they have said down the old memory hole faster than you can say “Bob’s your uncle.”

What about Ruth Bader Ginsburg?

JackRussellTerrierist in reply to RodFC. | September 12, 2016 at 7:36 pm

Way too old and just as sick as Hillary.

Cute. But no. Notorious RBG’s health issues are well known. A three-time (+ now?) Cancer survivor in that frail condition might not make it up the stairs to the platform to take the oath of office at the inauguration.

We’d have another William Henry Harrison (who, incidentally, died of Pneumonia).

Luapious in reply to RodFC. | September 12, 2016 at 11:42 pm

She has a ready made campaign slogan, “If elected I will not leave the country”

Hillary doesn’t care about the country or her party. She only cares about going down in history as the first female president. She will stay in the race even on her deathbed for the chance.

The democrats don’t care about the country. They only care about retaining their power. If Hillary is their best chance, they will fight to the death to keep her. They will not change unless there is a real chance Hillary won’t make it until Nov. 8th. If anything happens after that, Kaine becomes President and democrats maintain their power.

Turns out Kaine is not that middle of the road.
He embraces liberation theology.

I posted here a year ago that the one D I feared at the top of their ticket was Tim Kaine.

He can campaign as if he’s sane, like Obama did in ’08 – campaigning, essentially, as a moderate Republican (tax cuts, balanced budget, fighting corruption, etc), but Kaine is really just as radical as the rest.

Worse, he has a solid resume to run on: Mayor of Richmond, Gov of VA, DNC Chairman (’09 – ’11).

A lot of people here are discounting Tim Kaine’s chances of being H’s replacement on the ticket, thinking he doesn’t have the pull with the Party to get it. But, remember: he was DNC Chairman recently. And, he didn’t continually embarrass the Party the way Whatshername Schultz did.

The Dems will figure out a way to keep Obama in for another term. We have been mostly transformed but we are not quite fundamentally transformed yet. The man still has a way to go and there are things to do and gulags to build.

Even if his third term goes to the Supreme Court, he will have had time to appoint three Supreme Court judges who will have a different definition of “term”.

Note: These gulags will be special places for Republicans. Kind of a 360 degree secure safe place.

    C. Lashown in reply to Anchovy. | September 12, 2016 at 8:17 pm

Mrs. Obama would make the perfect candidate for Baracl to get his 3rd term (and 4th term). She’s acceptable to the Democrats and loves the fringe benefits of ‘power’, like long vacations in exotic locations. She also has the same moral compass as Hillary. Black, female and egocentric – a perfect fit for the Democrat party. Just think how the ‘precious snowflakes’ and the BLM hooligans would rejoice. America would suffer tremendously.

I’d worry about someone like Cicile Richards.

She’s smart, attractive, and her Collectivist creds are impeccable, being the Queen Mother of Abortion. Plus, she comes from a political family.

I think she’d walk over Der Donald, despite being blood-stained as she is.

At this point, all we can be reasonably certain about is that they know perfectly well it’s not pneumonia.

And we’re on fairly solid ground speculating that whatever it is she’s really suffering from is getting worse, and faster than they expected.

As I’ve mentioned previously, debates are clearly out of the question. Look for a blizzard of excuses any day now …

rokiloki in reply to tom swift. | September 12, 2016 at 8:18 pm

I’m not sure how Hillary could get away with no debates. I know there are some very low-information voters who won’t care, but I have to believe it will hurt her. If that happens, Trump should take advantage and hold a few town halls to get his position out on issues that concern voters.

Ragspierre in reply to tom swift. | September 12, 2016 at 8:30 pm

“And we’re on fairly solid ground speculating…”

I think Occam’s Razor cuts against that.

I do think Hellary has a mild case of pneumonia, and she fainted…or nearly did…the other day. It’s no more whiz-bang than that.

Now, there may be other stuff in play here, but watch her “deplorables” speech. She’s not at death’s door or anywhere near it.

rokiloki in reply to Ragspierre. | September 12, 2016 at 11:39 pm

Her health has noticeably declined in the past few months. She was unseen for a couple of weeks last month, so there’s no telling what is going on. She may not be at death’s door, but time is not on her side with whatever problems she’s having.

Elliott in reply to Ragspierre. | September 13, 2016 at 6:23 am

      “but watch her “deplorables” speech”
She looks drunk. Or drugged. Or just a sneering, jeering brain damaged old Alinksky-ite too impaired to notice it was being recorded. I think she sunk herself by playing so heavy to the Streisand crowd. Is this her Goldman Sachs and Wall Street shtick too? How about Aspen Institute and Davos? No wonder no cameras are allowed.

tarheelkate in reply to Ragspierre. | September 13, 2016 at 10:35 am

Having had “mild” pneumonia personally, plus many rounds of bronchitis, what strikes me is her ability to talk on Friday, and after her collapse Sunday, to project her voice on the NY street to tell everyone it was a beautiful day in the city. That’s a pretty mild case of pneumonia. I don’t find the story very credible.

All of them are pretty disgusting. Kinda hard to chose which loser will appeal to the low-information voter the most.

Biden. He might be called “Crazy Joe” by some. However, I could see him having more favorable appeal than Trump. Given his loyalty to this administration, I could also see Obama supporting him in a way he hasn’t Hillary. He has instant recognition and the MSM would, no doubt, be all out for him.

I believe he would be the most dangerous one of the list.

Michael J. Fox, because he’s honest about his Parkinson’s diagnosis.

Should it happen, and that would indicate shrillary is no longer breathing, it will be another commie. It matters little which one it is.

Milwaukee in reply to Barry. | September 13, 2016 at 1:02 am

Right. Trump needs to emphasize that when Hilary made those comments the room was full of laughter. He needs to campaign against the ideas of the socialism and socialist who want to destroy our country. Any of our choices would be awful.

Our best bet is Trump, and co-opting him into conservative behavior.

She claimed that her coughing fits were caused by seasonal allergies which she was treated with antibiotics in stead of antihistamines?? We all expect lies from hillary but plausible if unlikely lies.As to her replacement no one should be considered other than bernie, he ran and nearly won despite the rigging of the primary election. the voters must be respected or elections will be viewed as fraud.

Actually, being treated with antibiotics for seasonal allergies doesn’t surprise me at all. Every August and September I used to get the most horrible sinus infections imaginable due to pine pollen because I lived in Upstate New York and I spent so much time outdoors in the Adirondack mountains.

The pollen would irritate my sinuses, they’d close up and the bacteria inside would run rampant.

I had to be treated with so many antibiotics over so many years that I’m actually immune to several of them (low-dose amoxicillin, azithromycin do absolutely nothing for me and my Doctors are starting to get concerned regarding my response to doxycycline).

Pretty much if I get sick these days, I START on levofloxacin or high-dose Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium) and work up from there.

You are not treating the allegry with the anitbiotic.
You are treating the infection the allegries cause with an antibiotic.

Antibiotics do nothing against allergies, which are essentially your immune system overreacting to some contagion. Antihistamines do treat allergies by reducing the immune system response.

You are not treating the allegry with the anitbiotic.
You are treating the infection the allegries cause with an antibiotic.

Antibiotics do nothing against allergies, which are essentially your immune system overreacting to some contagion. Antihistamines do treat allergies by reducing the immune system response.

True. However, the allergy response is not the thing that is going to kill you. The INFECTION from bacteria in the body and the body being unable to deal with the now contained bacteria running rampant IS the thing that causes you to get sick, and if your body can’t deal with it, eventually DIE. In certain individuals (like me) that allergy response is highly correlated with infection (regardless of if I’m on anti-allergy medication or not, apparently it has something to do with the physical shape and size of my sinus cavities, and so far I’ve refused to let my Ear, Nose and Throat specialist put a drill up my nose to fix it).

Sometimes even heavy prescription antihistamines are not sufficient to fully combat the immune-response, leading to sinus/throat/lung back-up and infection. Once the infection sets in, regardless of if the allergen goes away, the body starts to have the immune-response to the INFECTION itself, and it becomes a self-reinforcing loop.

So, you are correct. You’re not treating the ~allergy~ with the antibiotics. But you’re treating the OUTCOME of the allergy response with antibiotics, often once the initial allergen is no longer present, but the inflammation from the infection is.

pretty sure the Demonrats are locked into having Shrilery as their candidate.

ballots are locked, absentee ballots for overseas/GI voters are already in the mail, and early voting starts in a week or two, some places…

their going to have to rid this nag into the ground.

I mean the FAIR and LOGICAL thing to do would be to replace her with Bernie Sanders, as he is the only other candidate that got any appreciable votes in the primary.

However the Democrats have already bent over backwards to crown Hillary so I expect them to pick somebody else.

With an eye to winning probably Warren would be almost impossible for Trump to beat. She can still play the, “I have a vagina you must make me President’ card, but isn’t as dishonest, corrupt, and just plain unlikable as Clinton.

I think they’re going to pick Warren, the Sanders voters are going to be pissed, but the rest of the Democrats will line up behind her.

The Sander’s voters would be ECSTATIC if Warren came in to replace Hillary. The progressives only got behind Sanders when Warren refused to step up and run. They saw Bernie as “Warren lite.”

Milwaukee in reply to Olinser. | September 13, 2016 at 1:08 am

Unfortunately, you started out wrong, and whatever conclusion you reach is just one more random, probable outcome.

“I mean the FAIR and LOGICAL thing to do …”

Hahaha. You were discussing the Democratic Party. Remember, they have no anchor in the world of morality, and drift in any direction. Their desired end justifies any means.

Milwaukee in reply to Olinser. | September 13, 2016 at 1:11 am

    Olinser
You probably do appreciate and value being fair and logical, and have a working moral compass. These vile creatures are so different from how you think you might be having trouble crossing that bridge to moral depravity.

Kaine makes the most sense logically speaking because he has already been anointed HC’s successor, but they will probably end up giving it to Uncle Joe Biden.

If Wikileaks is planning to dump some major Hillary dirt, somebody’d better get a move on or they’ll miss their chance.

inspectorudy in reply to tom swift. | September 12, 2016 at 11:23 pm

All of this “Sickness” may be the back door for hillary if the Wikileaks are as bad as she thinks they are going to be.If an indictable offense is turned up then she will have to have another “Spell” and have to drop out. At that point, lynch and obama will not pursue any charges against her.

Maybe he means he’s getting ready to drop some dirt into her grave at the funereal.

Did I miss something – is there a poll supposed to be attached, or is it just a comment-poll?

I vote Biden. That idiot is easily controlled, an imbecile that walks and talks on command.

Oh – and for those who mentioned the video of a Doctor saying Parkinson’s – here it is, and I agree. It fits.

Not to worry raghead. The Donald is unbeatable. He’s gonna win it in a cakewalk.

Hillary admits to multiple “episodes”
I just checked out Drudge. There is a clip to a phone interview Anderson Cooper had with Hillary. In the clip AC mentions an interview where Bill says that she passes out when she gets dehydrated.

She admits it. AC presses her for how often it has happened. You wanna guess her answer? You got it “I don’t recall.”

Someone like Deval Patrick or Cory Booker.

Any of the pictured-above schmucks will do.

Here is an interesting thought.
What if Hillary is dead?
The attack killed her. TPTB at the DNC dec ided to keep her persona going witha double for a short while until they settled on a replacement or at least a strategy.

I don’t think it actually happened, but it would make a great plot for a novel.

The Clinton campaign has attacked a cartoon frog.

https://www.hillaryclinton.com/feed/donald-trump-pepe-the-frog-and-white-supremacists-an-explainer/

Redditers howling with laughter.

Surreal.

I would wonder what impact a Clinton withdrawal might have on Congressional races.

The D’rats have pretty solid control of their own nominating process. In other words, the D. nominee will be whoever the Party wants, not what those pestilential loyal D. voters think they want.

The Party most likely wants Biden. He’s reliably “one of them” even if he’s a crazy old coot and something of a national embarrassment, even to embarrassment-proof Dems.

It probably doesn’t want Kaine, who seems to be little more than a political placeholder who’d be unlikely to annoy Her Majesty. Traditionally one would expect the VP to be someone the Party is grooming for succession to the Presidency, but that strategy hasn’t been working too well for them of late and maybe they’ve abandoned it.

It doesn’t want Bernie, who most definitely is not “one of them”.

And it doesn’t want Lieawatha, who might turn into “one of them” eventually, but is too much of a n00b at present. And it’s not her “turn” yet; so take a number and wait in line like everybody else, bitch.

Chelsea and Moosh, ditto. They haven’t shown themselves to be loyal Party operatives by delivering the goods in lower offices.

Ragspierre in reply to tom swift. | September 13, 2016 at 9:59 am

You DO see your second and third paragraphs are contradictory, right?

Deemocrats care about winning. So all the rest of your BS is just that.

    Why bother, tom?

Sanders is no longer a Democrat.

Bernie Sanders leaves the Democratic Party – July 29, 2016

It would be either Chelsea or Michelle.

Three names on that list are, I think, possible:
Tim Kaine is the most likely. I think the D’s would prefer Biden or Michelle Obama, but given that he got the nod as VP for the ticket, that he would be seen as the most acceptable replacement by the most people in the country.

Anyone else would be a completely arbitrary pick.

If they go that route, Biden and Michelle Obama are certainly possible.

The D establishment can’t stand Bernie, and he left the Party as soon as he lost the primary anyway, so no chance there.

Gore is a Dinosaur has-been. Chelsea is a child. No one on the D side wanted O’Malley in the primary, though he was a reasonably sane choice, and everyone on the R side can point out what a complete failure he was as Mayor of Baltimore and Gov of MD.

Warren would be mentioned as a possible by the radical hard-Left of the D Party, but the fact is that she is completely un-electable in any competitive state (her entire life-story is a proven fraud) and she is an even worse campaigner than Hillary (when she ran for the Senate, her handlers realized their best chance was to hide her and not let her speak with, literally, anyone from the press or public and to not let her do ANY events – every time she appeared or spoke, her numbers tanked).
